Masane finds new competition!

Masane nods a little. "I wouldn't expect any less from someone trained in karate." She replied, placing her fist up into her palm and bowing to her before shifting into her own stance, however it was fairly similar to Kasumi's stance. "You don't bow?"

"Oh!" Kasumi said, realizing that she had forgotten to bow. She quickly shifted out of stance, and then bowed to her opponent, bending at the hips. "Let's have a good spar Masane!" Kasumi said, straightening up and adopting her stance again. Now that all the formalities were over, and that they were both in position, Kasumi moved forward to engage. She would move up closer, hand ready to parry any attack Masane threw at her, while looking for an opening to begin her attack.

Masane nodded, giggling at how she forgot to bow. "Yeah.. lets do our best." She replied, shifting back into her stance, and started to move towards the kawaii as well, and faked a kick with her left foot, testing her reaction to it.

Kasumi knew a good opponent when she saw one. Masane's movements showed no wasted energy, every single move carefully planned and executed. She hoped that she was good enough to be an adequate opponent. She saw the kick coming, but made mo movements to avoid it since she realized it was a fake. Instead, Kasumi shifted stance quickly. Her body turned as her left arm swept downwards to block any attack coming from her left, while her right foot stepped forward. The fist at her hip also rose, extending outwards in a punch right at Masane's chest, a punch with the momentum of Kasumi's turning body behind it.

Masane stepped back as she stepped in, and she brought her arms up to try and catch her arm as it came up towards her chest. If successful, she'd try to knee the karateka in the gut, and then would try to flip her over by her captured arm, stepping back afterwards.

Kasumi noticed that Masane stepped back and was going to try and catch her arm. She couldn't let that happen. Turning on a dime, Kasumi pulled her arm back just in time and instead pivoted on her right foot, raising her left leg to try a powerful and fast turning kick right at Masane's side. She hoped that the speed with which she changed attacks would be able to throw Masane off a little and give her an advantage.

Masane blinks when Kasumi turns and pulls her arm back. She sees her left leg coming up and barely has any time to react. She twists her body to the side, Kasumi's foot grazing her gut, and she tries to counter with a quick elbow to the forehead as the foot grazes her gut. She would use restraint on her, but it would still sting a bit if the blow was landed.

Kasumi was surprised her kick missed. Her toe barely grazed the outside of Masane's gi. Before she could react, Masane's elbow strike came. Kasumi could only bring up her right arm and block it instead of avoiding the blow. It stung the outside of her arm, showing that Masane possessed some strength. Kasumi gritted her teeth, she had met her match this time. She would lunge forward with a left hook, an attack that due to her rather small height compared with Masane would probably land on Masane's shoulder.

Masane was elated at how well Kasumi was doing against her. It had been a while since she had been able to go toe to toe like this with someone, and not land a true hit yet. As Kasumi blocked her elbow, she saw the left hook coming, and assumed it was coming for her face. She raised her hand up to her face, reach to catch her fist, but instead Kasumi's fist slammed into her shoulder. "Gh!" She stepped away from the kawaii afterwards, blinking at her, looking a little surprised. "I.. think that counts as a point for you." She stated.

Kasumi was actually a bit surprised when her fist landed on Masane's shoulder. "Should've compensated for height difference," she thought. Kasumi backed up as Masane retreated. She was panting with her exertions, but was very excited. Masane was tough,and yet Kasumi was keeping up!

"Heh, I actually missed where I intended to hit," she said, "But I guess a point's a point. Ready for round two?"
