Strange Things Afoot

As luck would have it one lane opened up as they got there. Fate let out a small sigh of relief knowing that she won't have to find out if her mom was going to follow through on what she said in the car or not about making room. Like Alaina, it has been some time since Kelly has done this. However she does recall what to do. "It's alright. Maybe if we add our scores together we can take her" teasing that combined they can beat Fate. "If this was basketball I'd totally school you both, but this..." This isn't her first time doing this, in fact she's played her a few times before as she knew roughly how far away from home it was, but she obviously had her preference on what sport she preferred to play.

"10 pin or 5?" Kelly asked them. Fate always found 5 to be harder, though the balls were easier to throw. She looked at Alaina, wondering if she had a preference.

Alaina looked over at everyone puzzled. "I didn't know there was any way other than ten pins?
I am cool with whatever though!" Alaina said, curious ad to what bowling with half the normal amount of pins was like.

She had a hard enough time knocking over any when there were ten. She doubted her score would be any good....

“That was easy” Kelly said with a grin. After getting signed up they headed in the direction of the lane they were assigned to. Along the way they passed some of the five pin lanes and Kelly pointed them out to Alaina, noting that the pins are of a different size and farther apart…plus the ball is smaller. “And no, bowling isn’t usually done in the dark here.” As they got there things were changing from regular lighting to more of a dark and glowing setting with music playing.

"Ever play like this before?" Fate asked Alaina.

Alaina looked bewildered at this strange Canadian bowling. She felt like she could shot put the small ball into the pins from here.

She looked over at Fate and shook her head. "Nope. I have no idea what I am doing,
I will have to watch you guys and see how it is done."

Noticing Alaina's expression while seeing the five pin setup, Fate attempted to ease the confusion. "They got it in the states and other places, too. It may not look like it but those balls do have some weight behind 'em." Just to mess with her, but also to say something educational, Kelly adds "There's other types as in other places as well, kind of regional differences, which I won't get into as even I don't understand why they're a thing...but what we're doing is the main type, for lack of better term."

"Despite the lack of regular lighting it's still actual bowling, so no need to worry about anything being different rule wise" Fate explains.

Alaina nodded as she followed along, feeling like she could at least grasp the concept. Too bad she wasn't going to be any good if this were just like the usual bowling set up. "Ok, sounds good but don't expect much out of me. I am way better at wrestling than bowling so... yeah." Alaina said as she stepped up to give it a try.

She made her approach, kept her arm and wrist straight and flung the ball down the lane as hard as she could! It went straight... but not anywhere near a headpin. Her ball flew down the lane, crashing hard into a single, lone pin at the end of the ally sending it flying! If only her accuracy could match her power in this sport...

"Believe it or not wrestling and bowling can go hand in hand." Kelly informs Alaina before Alaina can set up for her second shot. "Like that time you took a bowling ball to the cunt" Fate mentions with a snicker at the end. Kelly gestured that Fate better watch it, unless she wants a smack at the back of the head, though Fate was not wrong in stating bowling balls have been used in certain types of matches before. "And before you think about it missy I'm not going to sit at the end of the lane with my legs open to help give her the mindset of hitting the head pin." Fate sighed "I wasn't going to go there." "Good, otherwise I'd use YOU as the ball." Fate got a bit annoyed with Kelly's response and without even thinking grabbed her from behind "You mean like this?" and carried her down a neighbouring lane. "What the?! PUT ME DOWN THIS INSTANT!" Kelly was in shock with what was happening, and not approving of it either. "Here's another way to do it Alaina" Fate stated before releasing Kelly with a small launch forward into the pins. She walked back quietly and simply commented it was still Alaina's turn.

Kelly was shaken up, but was alright. After a small struggle to pull herself out of the end of the lane, Kelly made her way back. Regardless of how Alaina's next shot went Fate wasn't wasting anytime with her turn. Doing a little better on her first shot she managed to take down six pins, and took down the remaining four on the second. When Kelly returned the mother and daughter looked at each other with awkward silence.

To say Alaina was speechless was an understatement. Fate went from quiet, reserved and barely said a word to throwing around foul language casually... and sliding Kelly down the lane? Alaina's eyes were wide in surprise, thens he closed them, shaking her head in shock.

"Maybe someday we can go to a place that one of you won't try to get us kicked out of?" Alaina said with a nervous smile, recalling Kellys antics at the bar. Fate's behavior here so far seemed to have taken place of Kelly, but if they hadn't been asked to leave yet perhaps the family was in good graces with the proprietors of this bowling alley? Once the shock wore off Alaina rifled her ball down the lane, keeping it somewhat straight and managing to hit seven more pins. 1 and 7 meant her frame was an open, but she was bound to do better.... right?

What went down didn't go unnoticed by some of the people around them, it didn't look like anyone was going to confront them about it, at least not yet.  kelly was about to make her way back when Alaina's second shot was made.  "Not bad, Ala."  For someone who didn't give any indication to being any good, getting an 8 in the opening fram was respectable.

When Kelly went she fired the ball down, a bit ticked off at what happened moments ago.  She wasn't really aiming per se, but she managed to get all of the pins down with one shot.  She turned to Fate and grinned before taking her two middle fingers to make an X sign, making sure Fate saw it before pointing it towards her crotch and mouthing, but not speaking, the words 'suck it bitch.'  Fate decided not to reality to the gesturing, feeling it was kinda warranted. Before Alaina could set up for the second frame, Kelly made a suggestion.  She suggested the order some drinks and/or snacks and bring them back to where they were.  She didn't mention it, but she had a feeling it might kill some of the tension.  Fate had the same thought of reason when the thought was mentioned.  "Sure."

"Sure, that sounds good! I can go get whatever you guys want and stuff." Alaina said as she picked up her bowling ball. She made her approach and rolled the ball quickly down the lane, the ball veering off to the right. She still knocked over five pins and lined up her second attempt. Unfortunately for Alaina that ball went flying right to where her last attempt had.... and she didn't get any more in this frame.

"Okay, well that sucked. All right, just let me know what you guys want and I will go get it. You two will be all right down here by yourselves... right?"
