Strange Things Afoot

Kelly still wanted to do more. Even if it was just subpar karaoke or something along those lines. During the ride home Fate kept quiet. She didn’t have anything to contribute to the conversation and she had a feeling tonight might be best if it was just the older women who did stuff together. She would though speak if spoken too. As Kelly thought about what they should do, even asking Alaina for input, Fate thanks them for the lift and proceeded to get out of the car.

Alaina had arrived back at Kelly's place, having kept an eye out for anything that looked remotely interesting. Drinking seemed to get them in to trouble but Alaina was keeping an open mind.

"Hmmmm... there is a bowling alley right there, does anyone else want to go howl a game or two?" Alaina asked looking over at the two passengers.

Fate didn’t mind that activity, but she still felt like she shouldn’t intrude.  However since it sounded like Alaina made the suggestion, Kelly had a feeling it might be good to include Fate for this one.  Looking at Fate she made the suggestion for her to join them.  Fate still seemed unsure considering what went down earlier tonight from their different perspectives.  “Not this time young lady.  You march upstairs right now, clean up and get your butt back down here.  You’re coming too and that’s that.  Got it?”  Fate didn’t need to be told twice and bolted inside.  

While she wasn’t one to force things on her kids, she had a feeling her time with each of them was becoming less and less.   During the prime of her career there was a lot of family neglect, and she tried to make up for it.  Things with Kayura were fine, though with Sion and his gal moving she wanted to get as much time in with Fate as she could in the event she too took a road that led her away from home.

Alaina waited in the car with Kelly while Fate got changed. She looked over at Kelly and while things seemed to be going better Alaina wanted to be sure.

"So... like, how are ya? Do you feel better with where your mind is at and everything?" Alaina asked as casually as she could. Alaina was not sure if anything she did was helping, but she sure hoped it was doing some good.

“A bit yeah” she nodded. “Won’t know for sure until I actually get back in there.” Personally she felt fine, but feeling fine outside the ring and inside were two different avenues. She wasn’t trying to have self-doubt, and it didn’t sound like she was showing any, at least that wasn’t her intent. Given what went down that lead to being at this point she didn’t want to think about it too hard in the event her brain decides to go full reversal and change her attitude, but so far she didn’t feel like anything was feeling out of place with her. Though since Alaina brought it up she asked her “What about you? Do you notice anything?”

"You seem like your usual self to me.
We can step in the ring whenever you want to test that out too. Do ya want it to be a spar at your gym or make it an official match?" Alaina asked.

She wasn't sure what Kelly would say, but it didn't matter to Alaina. She wanted Kelly yo be all right but that didn't mean Alaina would roll over and let her win.

“Not sure at the moment to be honest. Let’s just get through tonight first.” After a few more minutes Fate rejoined them. “Where we headed?” Fate asked them after sitting back down, not recalling if anything was decided before she went inside moments ago.

Alaina smiled at Fate and got ready to drive once she sat down. "I think we decided on bowling, so if you guys can give me directions to a bowling alley nearby that would be great!" Alaina said as she began to drive.

At this rate she would know her way around this little part of Canada in no time.

"Oh.  I guess that's alright." She had no objection to it, though still being here did feel unexpected.  "There's one that's five minutes or so from here, but do you think there would be a lane free at this time of day?"  Not that she was trying to get out of it, but this did seem like a busy time for those types of establishments.  "If there isn't room we'll make room."  Fate wasn't sure if her mom was being serious or not with that comment as Kelly drove in that direction.

Alaina kept her eyes open as she drove, looking around to see where the place was. With Fate around it allowed Alaina to be quieter while driving ad she tried to find the place.

Thankfully, it was easy to find. Alaina parked the car and smiled as she got out, hoping they could do something to help Kelly get her mind back in focus without making a scene like last time. "All right we are here!
It has been a while since I bowled so don't expect much from me."
