Strange Things Afoot

While Kelly didn't except Alaina to stay down long with that, she couldn't help but think in the back of her mind 'Will I ever beat her?', but didn't focus on that for long. Kelly nodded to the next part, but then stopped Alaina as the move was about halfway applied. "Wait a second, isn't that illegal in wrestling? Oh wait, only in most amateur ranks, carry on."

Alaina rolled her eyes a bit as she locked in the hold. Kelly was focusing on the wrong things and she added a split second of power to give the hold more sting before easing up, locking it in without really applying painful pressure. "It doesn't matter. You are going to face it so you have to deal with it." Alaina said, trying to keep Kelly focused and hoping to get her working on a counter. Alaina wasn't going to stay put forever but if Kelly didn't start to try something soon Alaina would lift her up high and slam her back to the mat with a full nelson slam.

Alaina wasn't wrong on that point, it was just Kelly's brain working too much at that moment. "That's fine, just don't hit me down low." Not that she thought Alaina would nail her below the belt anyway, it just came up since they were on the subject. Still Kelly knew now wasn't the time to go over the right and wrongs of wrestling moves in create detail, and did managed to state what she did while making an attempt to get out the hold.

It took her a little bit though to do something more than typical struggling with such move before she put her hands behind Alaina's hands and leaned forward. Moving a leg behind Alaina's Kelly thought of just throwing her arms up and learn back to break the grip Alaina had on her, she felt that she had enough of a reach to grab Alaina's left leg and pull it out from under her. If Alaina went down from that Kelly would continue to hold on to the foot and apply a spinning toehold.

There it was!  Alaina felt a lot of the old Kelly coming back! Unfortunately for Alaina she was now the one taken down and now it was her turn to be stuck in a hold and have to take some time to try to worm her own way out!  Alaina was stuck and it had been a while since someone used this move on her so she instinctively reached over for the ropes, using her arms to try to drag the two of them closer to the ropes to try to get a rope break!

A few minutes after Alaina got to the ropes, Wes took a look in their direction. What they were doing appeared to be coming along at a steady pace, a bit quicker than when they started, but he felt no need to interrupt. Not long after turning his attention back to what he was doing, he heard the moment in the ring getting faster. Noticing some of the others nearby looking in their direction caused him to do the same. When he did so he saw the two of them really going at it, and the sight of it was both positive and concerning. On the one hand, it appeared that things were coming back naturally to his wife, on the flip side however, given what today was suppose to be about, the chance of a setback of some kind to either of them was beginning to look like it could happen.

He moved towards the edge of the ring and watched as the two women continued. Following a dropkick to Alaina's knees, Kelly went to the middle rope in the corner and held on and slingshotted herself off with a spear-like move to take Alaina down. Wes feels the need to step in when Kelly picks herself up afterwards and shouts out, feeling the moment and wanting to do something big. Knowing the body language as well as her verball expression was the deciding factor to pun an end to this little workout. Kelly grabbed hold of Alaina and set her up for a double underhook piledriver, but as she got the arms hooked with Alaina upside down Wes rain the bell that was in one of the corners of the ring. Upon hearing the bell, Kelly let go of Alaina, letting her fall naturally, before looking around, wondering what was up. One of the students who was watching close by slid into the ring to help Alaina up as Wes explained what he saw.

Kelly kicked the bottom rope in disappointment. The competitive side of her felt if it wasn't for the bell she could have pinned Alaina and counted herself, yet another part of her thought it wouldn't have proven anything. "Shut up, brain." She says calmly with slight annoyance to the tone. "It's alright honey, you'll get her some day". 'I hope' he thought. Kelly turned her attention to Alaina and asked her if she was alright, and with some mild embarrassment apologized for almost spiking Alaina on her hed, but she couldn't help but toss in at the end there "Almost had you though."

Things seemed to be going well and right when Alaina finally felt comfortable with the more casual pace of training Kelly seemed to amp things up out of nowhere, making the spar feel more like a match! Alaina was caught off guard and reeling a bit as Kelly went from zero to sixty. Alaina groaned as she was taken down hard a couple times and as Kelly lift her upside down Alaina was wriggling and trying to use her core strength to shift her weight to the point Kelly was taken off balance to allow Alaina to escape.

Wes rang the bell however and Alaina was let go. Part of her understood his concern, but Alaina couldn't help but feel a tiny bit insulted. She was a professional, she didn't need saving. Still she was cool enough to understand he had good intentions so she wasn't exactly mad about it, just a tiny bit disappointed. Kelly then got snarky which was a good sign. That is just how she was in the ring. "You wish. It takes more than that to keep me down, you should know that by now." Alaina answered.

Other than the first two words that came out of Alaina's mouth, Wes didn't hear what else was said as he got the feeling a verbal joust might spark, and potentially become more than that. Before Kelly could respond to what was said to her, Wes covered the mouth of both women. "I know how the both of you can get so none of that, save it for another day." He let go after saying what he did.

Alaina was really confused at this point. She didn't think she said anything out of place, but Wes apparently did. Alaina knew that he was trying to keep things civil though so she didn't give him a dirty look or say anything else. Still, in her mind if Kelly is trying to rekindle her fire being over protective wasn't going to do her any good. "Okay then, if that is it I will change and head out. See you back in Japan." Alaina said before nodding to the two and walking towards the locker room.

"Not sure when that will be, but alright." She felt that it wasn't a matter of if she'd be back there, but when. 'And when I do, I will beat you. Maybe then I can retire with no regrets.' How things ended here made her remember their past times against each other. With all she's done in her career, all the places she's gone, all the belts she's won, all the people she's met, adding to those respective lists didn't seem to matter as much as getting one W against one particular person. Not that with how right here ended would keep her up at night, more of a reason to keep going, especially to a specific area.

"HEY!" she called out before Alaina was out of sight. If Alaina stopped and looked back she'd give her a simple "Thanks" with a slight smile.

Alaina heard Kelly calling out and turned, giving her a wave and nod as Kelly thanked her. Alaina had a feeling that the two would go at it again but she had no clue when that would be. The amazon was tired and had a match coming up in a week so she wanted to make sure she got back to Japan in time to be ready. Alaina turned again, making her way into the locker room so she could freshen up and change before her trip.
