Re: SS 16: Angel Vs. Jessica Wright
Alaska. It had to be fucking Alaska. Jessica heard they did PPV's in cool places, like Rio or London or hell even Mexico. After bashing Angel over and over, Jessica could take a nice long rest on the beach. Little helper buddies would attend her every need as someone massaged her feet. The Violent Violet would even buy a round for everyone. No, that was a lie. She would get a beer for River and maybe Abattoir, but that was the extent of it. Jessica had never been to the Final Frontier before and could not honestly say it was an experience she desired that much. On the flight over, she peered out the small window. AFW paid for her ticket over, first class, but she always hated flying. Flying, like 90% of everything, didn't scare her or anything, but she hated the feeling of being completely out of control. The blue Pacific Ocean seemed interminable below her and Jessica wondered what it would be like if the plane slammed into the water.
Hopefully Angel would get a feeling like that when Jessica slammed into her. She clenched her fist. This wasn't some holiday in the sun, because it wasn't a holiday and she doubted there would be much sun: her mind churned on the long flight, thinking of her opponent. Her name was Angel but Jessica had resolved to send her to hell. After the Latina decided to cut her little shitty ass promo, Jessica's brain turned itself over, weighing a thousand and one ways to beat the woman. Losing the Entropy title didn't matter any more. Anything that happened in between didn't matter any more. Hell, anything that had happened before didn't matter any more. Her mind had a way of focusing on something like a laser and latching onto it with the pervicacious fight of a bulldog. Don't get kicked in the head, occurred to her a lot for all the good it did her. You have a weight advantage and a reach advantage, so fucking use it, also crossed her mind a lot. The most common one was also the most simple: tear this bitch apart.
Jessica stepped off of the plane wearing the biggest jacket she could find. She didn't know much about Alaska other than it was cold. As she worked her way through the airport she took off her hat and gloves, but she didn't have anywhere to put her parka and was forced to sweat. At least there was a chauffeur with a limo to take her to the hotel where she would be staying.
Two days later, on the night of the main event, she was making herself ready. Jessica had gotten as prepared in those two days as she was ever going to be. Her last sip of alcohol was in the distant past at this point, and she bought a set of weights to train herself in her hotel room. Above the TV, she put up an Angel poster she had found to motivate her. The Violent Violet honestly bore no personal grudges against the woman, other than the fact that she was in her way. That white haired bitch stood between her, and notoriety, success, and most of all, the belt. On the day of the fight, she sent a fifty pound weight right through her face.
That was the day. Now it was night. Or as night as it gets in Alaska, the land of the midnight sun. She was jumping up and down, getting herself loose for the fight. Fight strong, fight smart, attack attack attack. The words were in her brain but they were very much her father's. Her fist sliced through the air, once, twice, three times. Jessica had to have the bout of her life tonight and she knew it. The red wrestling outfit that she so loved adorned her muscular and curvy form and her long legs tapered off in two red wrestling boots. Jessica made her way to the staging area with purpose, not going too fast nor too slow.
The crowd was roaring. Good. They weren't going to cheer for her and she knew it. She didn't need them, fuck them all.
The gothic country music that portended losses for so many women at AFW now boomed over the Alaskan PA. Just as she predicted, a torrent of boos came down on her like an Iowan hailstorm. Jessica sneered at them as she prowled down to the ring. The Violent Violet slid under the bottom ring then proudly stood in the center. The lights above her were so bright.

Re: SS 16: Angel Vs. Jessica Wright
Jessica wasn't the only one that had spent the last several days preparing for this match. Angel wasn't a happy woman. Her first match back to the AFW had been ruined by Styx and her cronies, and instead of getting the chance to unleash her frustrations against Styx, the obvious leader of the group, she had been denied and was instead facing off against Jessica Wright. Fine. That was fine by her. The Latina had a lot of pent up frustrations, and if Jessica wanted to be the target of Angel's wrath, then so be it.
Every since the two of them had faced off back in Japan, Angel had spent every day training and preparing herself for this fight. Her days had been dedicated to working out and training, and her nights had been dedicated to watching videos of Jessica's matches. Jessica had invaded her every thought, almost consuming her completely. It wasn't as bad as when she and Taylor had faced off at Avalanche, but Jessica had still dug her way deep under Angel's skin. The Latina was ready and completely willing to kick Jessica's head straight off of her shoulders, and teach her a thing or two about respect.
Once Jessica had reached the ring and her music had faded out, the familiar tones of Angel's own entrance music began to play. The audience, naturally, began to cheer and roar and shout as the Latina stepped into view, stepping out from the backstage into the sight of everyone in the packed Alaskan arena, Angel stopped in the center of the entrance ramp to lift her arms above her head, striking a pose for the benefit of the fans and the cameras...
She stood there in the center of the stage for several long moments, soaking in the cheers of the crowd before opening her eyes, starting to head down the ramp towards the ring. Upon her face, the Latina wore her usual cocky, confident, full-of-herself smile. Despite the situation, she had every reason to smile. Jessica had made the mistake of challenging Angel at Summer Splash, the pay-per-view that Angel had made into her own. She was on a three-win streak at Summer Splash, and she had main evented the pay-per-view both years before her streak had began. As far as she was concerned, she had become invincible at Summer Splash. She represented this event better than anyone in the company. She was Miss Summer Splash, and Jessica was about to learn why challenging her here of all places was a mistake.
Once Angel reached the ring, she slithered under the ropes and climbed to her feet, raising her arms into the air once she was standing again, earning another round of cheers from the crowd. Then, without wasting another moment, she lowered her arms and stepped towards the center of the ring to meet Jessica, her music dying as she did so.
She stepped right up to the larger woman, stepping in close to her, letting their bodies just barely press against each other as she smirked, staring deep into Jessica's eyes as she spoke up in a soft, but firm voice.
"Tell you what, chica. I feel like being nice tonight. If you apologize for being such a bitch back in Japan, then maybe I'll go easy on you tonight, you know?"
Her words sounded teasing, but there was an obvious edge to them. Angel was focused, and ready to fight. All she needed was the sound of the bell, and she would get this show started.

Re: SS 16: Angel Vs. Jessica Wright
Slut. Jessica was always the one stuck at the back of the line when it came to things like Summer Splash. This was her first PPV, as absurd as that was; her dominant record would seem to evince that she was a mighty wrestler, but because she didn't pose and preen for the camera she was relegated to the outskirts of recognition. But that wasn't the case anymore. For the first time in her life, she could say she was a main eventer and it would have filled her with pride if she were not so consumed with Angel.
There she was, in the flesh. She had laid eyes upon the Latina before of course, but she was so much more visceral here. Angel was not a large woman, but here in the arena she looked like she was seven feet tall. The situation magnified her to the point where her cocky smile seemed as if it were as large as the horizon and her thick legs seemed larger than the columns supporting the roof. Jessica clenched her fist. All humans are born with something called the fight-or-flight response. When an exigency is created, the human body prepares itself for combat or fleeing. Jessica had made her choice a long time ago.
A couple million people were watching from the comfort of their home and a couple thousand more were watching them here. They saw how close Jessica and Angel were as the Latina took a step forward and their bodies lightly touched. Jessica upped the ante when she moved in closer so that their foreheads touched. Angel's cocky smile made her looked relaxed, almost easy. Jessica wasn't smiling. She was here for business.
No, she was here for war.
"I apologize." Jessica paused. "I apologize for letting you feel like you had a chance. I apologize for not ripping your head from your shoulders in Tokyo. And I apologize for what I am going to do to you tonight." The bell went off and the arena began sparking with electricity.
The Violent Violet took the initiative. She had never seen an opportunity she didn't immediately seize and Jessica moved into action. A quick two-step back was enough to purchase some distance that she so coveted. If Angel loved her own kicks so much, she would surely love Jessica's even more- with all the strength she could muster her right leg shot out then forward as Jessica attempted to lash Angel's side with a right side kick.

Re: SS 16: Angel Vs. Jessica Wright
Jessica may have thought Angel looked seven feet tall, but the Latina felt more like it was twenty as she entered the ring. She was in her element. This is wear she belonged, and this was where she felt the most invincible. She was on top of the world, and she could not wait to remind everyone why messing with her at Summer Splash was such a bad idea.
When Jessica moved closer, pushing her forehead against Angel's, the Latina pushed right back against her, refusing to back down or budge a single inch against her foe. She stared Jessica down, her smile slowly dropping from her face as she listened to the woman's faux apology. What a bitch, Angel thought, not for the first time in recent memory, and as the bell rang, she finally started to back away from Jessica.
But she was too slow.
She had expected funny business from Jessica, some kind of cheap shot, but she hadn't been expecting the woman to move so quick or strike so suddenly, and she definitely hadn't been expecting a kick from her. Angel didn't have time to dodge, all she could do was brace herself, her body shuddering as Jessica's leg slammed straight into the side of her body.
As soon as the attack connected, Angel let out a loud grunt, her body bending awkwardly from the blow, the Latina starting to stumble to towards the side. That had been unexpected, and the kick hurt more than Angel wanted to admit, and now, for the moment at least, she was wide open, Jessica's quick first attack leaving the Latina shaken and defenseless.

Re: SS 16: Angel Vs. Jessica Wright
The woman didn't back down. It seemed as if every wrestling fan would bloviate about things like honor and respect endlessly, and consider Angel's defiance to Jessica good and righteous and honorable. Jessica hated that. No part of wrestling necessitated discipline or fairness or any of the other meaningless words that got thrown around in dojos across the world. The Violent Violet knew what wrestling was really about and it got imprinted into her from a very young age: domination, strength, and winning. If she had to 'cheat' to get her hands on a belt then so be it. But she was not going to lose. Angel's pervicacious nature irked her more than anything else; didn't she know that Jessica was just plain better?
The kick to her side would serve as exhibit A, but Jessica was pretty determined to get exhibits B-Z. Angel's muscled side felt good against her boot and Jessica wondered what else would feel good when she attack. Determined to find out, Jessica pressed forward, reaching Angel in two steps. The first reason for doing so was clear to only her: she wanted to close the gap between her and Angel to vitiate Angel's devastating kicks because she expected an immediate counterkick.
The second reason was far more visceral and far more typical of the Violent Violet: she pivoted on her right foot and threw the hardest straight left she had possibly ever thrown. Angel had braced for the kick she had attacked her with, but it looked like the Latina's defenses were sufficiently lowered now. The punch was like Jessica's whole career up to this point, with nothing held back and no regard for what came afterward. She attacked with abandon, and knew should the punch miss its target she would be just as spread out and defenseless as Angel was now.
Her eyes were dilated and her muscles taut. The determination that overcame her was laid bare in the grimace on her face and the conviction of the blow. To an outside observer, it looked as if Jessica didn't want to win this match, she needed to. Jessica felt inclined to agree.

Re: SS 16: Angel Vs. Jessica Wright
Angel had been punched before. She had been punched in the face more times then she could count. She had been nailed right in her face by some of the meanest and strongest women around.
But none of those punches compared to Jessica's. Not a single one of them, not even River's fist, could compare to the pure fury and hatred that was in Jessica's punch. Before the Latina even had a chance to think about defending herself, Jessica's fist smashed squarely and solidly into the center of the Latina's face. Her entire world went black for a moment, her head snapping backwards from the sheer impact of the mighty attack. At the same time, she let out a loud sound, halfway between a grunt and a cry of pain, as she began to stumble backwards, away from the angry, determined woman.
To her credit, she didn't fall from the punch, not at first. She went staggering backwards, and then turned away, eventually collapsing forwards against the ropes. She leaned against them, her arms spread out over the top ropes with her head hanging low, as she tried to clear her head and her vision. It was hard though. Her entire world was a spinning, blurry mess right now, and she didn't foresee herself clearing that up anytime soon.

Re: SS 16: Angel Vs. Jessica Wright
Jessica could honestly not describe the sound of a fist hitting a face. She had done it to a thousand different people in a thousand ways but the exact sound of it escaped her. It wasn't the soft thud of a leg slamming into a side nor was it the loud crack of a skull hitting the concrete floor. The sound that came to her ears was a mix of both and was lovely. Jessica knew that Angel had had quite a lot of experience in the ring which meant being knocked a few times. The punch that slammed into her was not enough to bring her low most likely due to that impressive range of experience, but it did force her backwards, literally and figuratively.
The Violent Violet advanced. She did not dally nor did she move in haste. In her preparation, she considered a bunch of ways this match might start off and this one was one of the best. It would have been better if she had floored the Latina of course, but having her on the ropes from the early goings was perfectly acceptable to her. Jessica walked up right behind her and grabbed her around her waist.
"Call me a flunky. I dare you." Jessica was definitely the type to bear a grudge. She appreciated River like no one else in the world did, but she was very much her own woman. Her choices were hers alone and her choice at the moment was to get her opponent off of the ropes in spectacular fashion with a German Suplex.
She invoked all of her power as she did the move. Not only was this an opportunity to score some early victories in the match, it was a chance to release all of her pent-up aggression. If her catharsis was in the form of devastating wrestling moves, then so be it.

Re: SS 16: Angel Vs. Jessica Wright
Angel leaned against the ropes, already panting slightly as she tried to shake off Jessica's punch. She felt stupid. Normally she wouldn't have let someone like Jessica hit her so hard and so early like this. She could tell she was still shaking off ring rust, and part of her was cursing herself for messing up so soon.
When she heard Jessica's voice though, and felt the woman's arms clenching around her waist, she was brought out of her inner monologue, remembering what exactly was going on. She didn't have a chance to stop Jessica, though, and neither did she have the clarity of mind to think of an escape, her head still reeling from Jessica's deadly, dangerous punch.
Within the next few seconds, the Latina was lifted into the air, and before she knew it, she was slammed back down into the canvas, the ring quaking as Jessica unleashed her German suplex. Angel's body landed in a heap, then slumped to the mat, lying there in the center of the ring, and as far as anyone watching could tell, she was out of it now, not moving and not making a single sound.

Jessica came into this expecting the match of her life. The early goings were decidedly in her favor as the shaking ring testified to. She was on her knees, and then all the way up. The Latina looked pathetic on the ground, crumpled up in a heap in front of her. This woman was the former world champion? Jessica honestly would not have believed it if you had told her in that minute. Not even a drop of sweat was on her and Angel seemed like she was glued to the white expanse of canvas.
She moved forward. It is all she could do. It was all she knew how to do. Jessica loomed over her opponent now like a funnel cloud over the Iowa plain. The crowd all shifted in their seats; the murderous intent in her eyes was obvious to even the newest of fans and her hands were at the ready.
Her two strong arms, like the rest of her body, went in motion. She bent over to pick Angel up and get her standing, but bent over. The Violent Violet lowered her proud head too. She tried to drape her arm over Angel's neck and grab her free hand with Jessica's own. Her body would then twist rapidly as she attempt to bring Angel low with a swinging neckbreaker.
