SS 16: Angel Vs. Jessica Wright

Angel might not have been moving, and she might have been stuck on the mat, but the Latina was far, far from out of the game yet.

She lied there, eyes closed, letting herself rest as she waited for Jessica to head back towards her. She knew it was coming, and she knew the brute would have something planned for her, but for the time being she was okay with resting, and letting some of Jessica's brutal attacks wear off of her. She didn't even resist as Jessica grabbed her, and jerked her back up to her feet, either. The Latina was a patient woman, and she knew she needed to wait for just the right time to start fighting back.

When Jessica bent both of them over, Angel finally took her chance.

Before Jessica could begin swinging the two of them around, the Latina would suddenly try to strike, trying to swing her fist upwards, trying to furiously plant it right into Jessica's face. She hoped she could stop the neckbreaker before it happened, and she hoped it would be enough of a distraction for her to be able to turn things back around.

They usually didn't have squash matches at PPV's. Jessica snickered at the thought. Any match she was in was liable to become a squash as her power was overwhelming. In her mind, she had already done and could do a victory lap around the ring. They were both bent over and Jessica was ready to spin them down. Then a wrench was thrown into the works, and a fist collided with her face.

Jessica let go of Angel and staggered backwards. She blinked several times, both out of surprise and because the blow came right on her nose. There was no way she could have gone through with the move after a blow like that. Angel was far more notorious for her lightning kicks but Jessica's eyes began to water anyway. She wiped them off and appraised Angel once more.

"Thought you were dead in the water." Jessica lost sight of where she was. Her words did not come out as a taunt and as far as she could tell no one was impressed by her powers of observation. There was only half a foot between her two feet and Jessica had been shaken out of her wrestling stance. She shook her head and hunkered back down again. "That was the only one you are going to get." Mean Jessica, taunting Jessica, aggressive Jessica was back.

The Violet Violet bullrushed forward. She twisted and aimed a hard elbow towards Angel's face. If she got clocked in the nose, she was going to start whacking back.

Angel was panting, breathing hard as she stared at Jessica, growling at her threats. She was feeling tired, and hurting, but she was standing and she was free from Jessica's hold, and that was more important to her than anything else at that moment. She kept a careful eye on the bruiser, knowing she had to wait for just the right moment. Jessica was barely hurt, and Angel knew if she messed up, that the Violet would take full control of things again, and any chance of her winning would be lost.

She waited patiently, slipping back into her own wrestling stance, waiting for her chance. When the bigger, heavier woman finally moved, Angel snapped into action, knowing this was her moment. As Jessica rushed towards her, the Latina slid to the side, narrowly avoiding Jessica's elbow. At the same time, one of her long, toned legs snapped upwards, the former champion trying to nail her foe right in the gut with a hard, quick kick.

Jessica's vision narrowed into a tunnel. Angel stood right at the center and everything around the Latina became blurred. The Violent Violet's eyes, so purpurescent and perspicacious, did not waver from her opponent. She saw Angel crouch into her wrestling stance even as she charged towards the woman. Her legs were churning like an engine as Jessica bullrushed her opponent, cocking her elbow back and shooting it forward as if it and she were shot from a cannon.

The elbow sliced through the air and Jessica's focus was shaken all the way to surprise. Jessica lacked the speed to make up for the fact that Angel darted out of the way at the last possible second. The problems Jessica encountered were grievously exacerbated when Angel's hard leg slammed into her gut.

Jessica felt all the air in her be ripped from her at once. She doubled over and had to put a hand on the ground to keep from falling completely. Her eyes were wide. Jessica could honestly not recall the last time she had been kicked that hard. Hell, she couldn't remember the last time she had been hit with anything that hard, and Jessica had seen her fair share of hardcore matches. Jessica breathed in hard, trying to suck back the air that had been kicked from her.

Jessica took Angel's kick, and started to go down, and in that moment, the Latina lit up. This was her chance, and she knew it, and she was going to make sure Jessica knew it, too. The brute was about to learn just why Angel was so famous for having the deadliest kicks in the company.

With gritted teeth and a burning in her eyes, Angel swung her leg a second time towards Jessica, trying to clobber the woman before she could get back up. This time, her leg arced towards Jessica's ribs, the Latina trying to nail her in the side, as hard as she could muster with as tired as she was. No holding back, no reserving her strength. Angel knew how Jessica wanted to play now, and she was perfectly fine with that. She was going to hurt the woman, and she was going to hurt her bad.

Jessica had broken quite a few bones. She knew how to position herself to avoid the brunt of the damage over the course of a match and was fairly good about mitigating damage most of the time. That was when she was cognizant of what her opponent was doing and prepared for it. Here, doubled over and reeling from a devastating kick, Jessica had no way of stopping what was coming next. Even if she were standing upright and ready, she doubted she would have been able to adjust in time to deal with a kick that fast.

The kick slammed into Jessica's ribcage. The Violent Violet thought she had gotten her body used to lots of things in preparation for this match, but there was nothing in the world that could have prepared her for that. The blow sent Jessica spiraling down to the mat and clutching her side. If she were thinking straight she would wonder if the kick had broken a rib or two but mostly she was concerned with the pain that made her feel like that whole side of the body exploded.

Jessica rolled once before coming to a stop. The audience did not recognize the look of sheer anguish on her face as Jessica had never made it before. Her pretty features were contorted by the pain and Jessica bared her teeth in a grimace. There was no point in attempting to get up, as she knew it would not come to fruition.

Angel's body shuddered as her leg slammed into Jessica, a shockwave coursing through her body as she sent the violet bitch into a heap on the mat. Jessica was down, and Angel was up, and the Latina planned on keeping it that way. She quickly stepped after her hated foe, not wanting to let the brute get too much space between them. She leaned down as she approached Jessica, reaching out with both hands to grab two big, thick handfuls of the woman's brightly colored hair.

"Come on!" She shouted, as she gave Jessica's hair an angry jerk, pulling the woman's head upwards. Not enough to stand or sit the woman up, but just enough to put her face into range for her next attack. She sneered down at Jessica, and then suddenly brought her knee up towards her, the Latina trying to slam her knee hard and roughly right into the center of the woman's face.

Her hair might as well have been a homing beacon for all the other women on the AFW roster, and Jessica hated it. She was a natural brunette but dyed it purple for her shtick. Grabbing the hair was the purview of the skinny bitches in the kawaii leagues and those who wished to claim the softcore title, not for serious wrestlers like her. When her hair was grabbed curses filled her mouth.

But those weren't nearly as bad as the curses that came after. Angel's hard knee slammed into her nose. The awful sound bounced around the small arena, quickly followed by Jessica's yelp of pain. Her eyes began watering and there was little she could do about it. That was the most loathsome thing about getting hit right in the nose. It made you cry. Jessica could honestly not recall the last time she cried, either in pain or on account of her feelings. But here, in Alaska, she did.

Jessica's head was quickly returned to the mat with a quick snap. The Violent Violet groaned and rolled over. She had had about enough of the freebies and sought to push herself up, and trying to formulate a strategy to get herself back into this fight. With her head ringing like a church bell, it wasn't so easy.

Angel stepped back after her knee connected, satisfied with the end result of her attack, satisfied with the sound of Jessica's face meeting her kneecap. The Violet seemed like she was in a daze, and that was fine by Angel. She had plans for Jessica. She just had to finish softening her up first.

As the Violet began to push herself up, Angel took another step, dropping down into a slight crouch as she waited for Jessica to get back up. She crept towards her, waiting for just the right moment to strike, and once the woman had began to stand, she would suddenly act. Her leg shot up, one more time, the Latina aiming a hard, high kick towards the side of Jessica's head, wanting to send her toppling right back down to the mat again!

The lights above were blinding. Her head ached and with every pump of her heart a new pulse of pain shot through the veins in her temples. Time slowed. Or maybe Jessica slowed. She wasn't quite sure. All of her preparation, all of her hard work, all of her career before this match were beginning to unravel. Angel was a has-been, and Jessica was a star on the rise. A few attacks had hit her with no answer, and she knew a few more would mean a pin. For a woman like Jessica, that sort of end to the night was completely unacceptable.

Especially against a woman like Angel. The Latina was a face, and had a pretty face. Women like her were the ones who got title shots and PPV bouts and accolades, while women like Jessica were forced to the back of the line. The fogginess that Angel's blows had caused dissipated and were replaced with a seething rage. No, all of her training wasn't going to be thrown out the window. She was going to win, dammit, come hell or high water.

Jessica turned around. The long hours she had spent huddled over her laptop told her what was coming next. A kick. Angel loved her kicks and had a very good reason to. Her legs were as thick as most people's torsos and came in lethally fast. The next part was a guessing game. Jessica recognized that she wasn't fast enough to track the kick in the air and stop it before it landed. The Violent Violet had a split second to estimate where the kick would come in.

She guessed right. Her forearm shot up to her head and sure enough impeded the kicks progress before it reached her noggin. The blow was still terribly painful for her arm, but it was far better than being kicked in the head. Best of all, it left Angel wide open for a quick riposte. Her free hand shot straight forward for a punch leveled at Angel's pretty eye. That ought to get her right back into the swing of things.
