Diana Accera vs. Megumi Momoi - Step Up

Megumi wanted to tap.

It wouldn’t be the first time she’d had to. As much as she loathed submitting, the hard fact was that, sometimes, there was simply no gettign around it. If the choice came down to it, losing a match was always preferable to losing a match and losing a career. While her broadcasting career didn’t ride on her being able to use both limbs effectively, she still would’ve preferred to embark on it with all her bones intact.

So, when her thrashing finally bore fruit and Diana let go of the agonizing hold, she could be a little relieved...but not too relieved. After all, she was still dangerously close to one of the toughest, strongest wrestlers she’d gone up against, and even though things were beter now, the ball was still deep in Diana’s court. Megumi’s arms hurt, were too tired to get much damage with, even if she could get a decent position.

Fortunately, there was a second option. A painful option.

Megumi tensed up and drew her head back as far as she could in the tight clinch, scrunched her eyes tight, prepared mentally and physically. WIth that done, she jerked forward and slammed her head into Diana’s, crashing into it with a sharp headbutt.

Diana, whilst not cocky, was somewhat building confidence in particularly her somewhat effortless switch up of moves. They didn't need to be crippling Megumi, just working her down inch by inch, and perhaps most importantly, cripple her foes mindset and create the image that a win just wasn't possible on Megumi's side. But the woman was damn stubborn.

Clinching her foes head, somewhat behind the neck; Megumi was somewhat lightning quick to take advantage of her foes grapple, by utilising her head. Literally.

Skull connecting with skull, Diana's arms would fall to her side, a frustrated wheeze forcing it's way from her lips. She'd try to weakly roll her foe off her, praying that Megumi's double edged sword had hit her all the same. But the push didn't have the usual Diana Accera power, and the Italian's senses were somewhat briefly missing.

Megumi regretted headbutting Diana almost immediately after headbutting Diana. She didn’t expect the woman’s skull to be soft, but damn, it was like smacking against a rock.

Even though she’d been prepared for it, the blow still threw the commentator for a loop, had her seeing stars, shook her brain cells all the way off. Not to mention that, without taking the raging head trauma into account, her arms were nearing the point of almost complete uselessness. She could barely scratch her nose, much less fight effectively witht them.

Megumi rolled and rolled and rolled until she was next to the turnbuckle. She got up to her knees and leaned against the corner, using it for much-needed support as she tried to stand straight again.

Her arms hurt. Her back hurt. Her everything hurt. Win or loss, after this was over, she was taking the longest, hottest bath of her entire career.

To her somewhat luck, Diana soon found the woman who just tried to cave in her skull opting too for the break. It made sense; she didn't know if she ever wanted to meet the woman who could head butt that hard and follow-up without issue.

Despite not using support like Megumi, Diana's rise to a standing position was at a slow pace; part out of wariness, part because it felt like she'd just taken a hammer to the skull.

Once standing, she'd roll her shoulders and take somewhat of a deep exhale, before her arms as ever resumed their usual fighting posture. Slowly walking towards her cornered foe, somewhat still numb in the senses, Diana was trying to give off all the vibes of a woman unstoppable.

It was rough going for Megumi as she made her way back to her feet, and not simply for the obvious reasons. It wasn’t just the damage from this match that was holding her down, but injuries from battles long ago fought were creeping back as well. Old pains that she hadn’t felt in a good while, hellish matches haunting her. Nagging little reminders that, no matter how hard she tried, her past was always going to factor into her present.

But she could fight. One way or another, she was ending this.

She moved back in and head towards Diana, breaking into a more traditional muy thai stance as she neared the Amazon. Out came a punch, a hook aimed at her right side, but that wasn’t the only thing she was throwing out: a low shin, hard and harsh, came out a split second later, going for the side of Diana’s knee.

High and low. Keeping her guessing.

Diana as ever, approached with careful intent. She put herself in her foes shoes; yes, she'd taken more hits, more holds, more slams. But if that was Diana, she would simply be filled with adrenaline, more than eager to return the favour. Surely enough, she was right.

Her somewhat standard defence achieved somewhat standard effect, as Megumi's two pronged assault came in. Her strike connecting somewhat less effectively off Diana's blocked side, the shin shot would find it's home; the earlier strike to Diana's leg adding to the mix and stumbling the woman. She'd step back, eyes still on her foe with some irritation in her breath that her foe was using the corner so effectively.

A few steps away from Megumi, she'd simply open her fists, beckoning a 'come on' motion with her fingers, in an attempt to coerce Megumi from the corner and catch her in open waters.

Come on? Come on?

Megumi didn’t bother to suppress her annoyed grunt. There was little point, really, since Diana could probably see the frustration in her eyes, too. She knew her attacks were connecting, doing some damage, but it didn’t seem to be enough, not quite fast enough for her liking. The Amazon was craving more.

Well, she’d get it.

Megumi stomped her feet and charged in full steam, throwing her all into a suicide run. She threw punches with wild abandon - left, right, left, right, right, left, left - with a couple of short kicks interspersed, trying her best to drive Diana towards the ropes and keep her on the defensive.

Come on? Come on?

Diana had but two options; approach what seemed to be a wild animal, most likely having the sense knocked out of her as she did, or try to lure the beast from its lair. Obviously going for the latter, her plan seemed to have worked. Sort of.

Her foe coming towards her with continued passion, Diana found herself somewhat bent over, arms up and trying to block the strikes best she could. She'd removed Megumi's comfort of the corner, but now the woman had the perk of rage-fuelled adrenaline. Not good.

The best Diana could do was hope that Megumi pushed into her with such wild speed that Diana could simply duck in, hooking her arms for a boxer style clinch.

”Go down.”

Left hook, right straight, right jab, right jab, left straight.

”Go down!”

Left straight, right uppercut, right uppercut, left hook.

Why wasn’t this working? Megumi was throwing her all into this, driving Diana back, but it wasn’t getting her anywhere fast. Diana’s stamina seemed to be infinite, and she had a decent mind for defense, too. Megumi couldn’t say the same thing. Sweat was running down her body in long trails, her breath was running short, and she was beginning to feel the onset of dehydration. This had to end soon.

But before she could even think about that, her body was suddenly brought in tight against Diana’s, held close by the musclebound beauty. It was all she could do to struggle and thrash around in the hold - in boxing, the referee would break this up, but this wasn’t boxing. She was trapped until her opponent decided to let go.
