Diana Accera vs. Megumi Momoi - Step Up
-VS-
Match Type: Standard
Victory Conditions: Pinfall, Submission, or KO
***
When Megumi’s music started up and she came out onstage, dressed in wrestling gear that hadn’t seen the light of day for over three years, the crowd’s reaction was mixed. Some of them were just happy that someone was stepping up to try and put Diana in her place. Maybe she had a few hardcore Japan All-Stars fans with their scattered cheers, here and there. For the most part, the crowd was engaged in a bout of mutters, as they tried to figure out whether they were going to see a good match or a slaughter, as Diana tore through some out-of-work wrestler who was hitting way below her pay grade.
Frankly, Megumi didn’t give a damn. It just felt good to be competing again.
”Yeah!” She came down the ramp with both hands held high and thunderous cry, giving her vocal cords the sort of workout they’d been craving for a long time, goosebumps rising on her skin. ”Let me hear you scream!”
The people did not, in fact, scream - at best, she got a tepid reaction, but whatever. Megumi was all smiles as she made her way into the ring and rolled inside. She popped back to her feet with dual peace signs held high in the air and a wide smile on her face. She’d kept in shape, she’d trained, she’d prepared. Megumi Momoi was ready for the limelight again.
Now, all she needed was an opponent to prove that with. She took up her position in the corner and leaned against the turnbuckle, waiting for said opponent to show up.

Re: Diana Accera vs. Megumi Momoi - Step Up
Speaking of tepid reactions, following soon after Diana Accera would appear on the ramp to her somewhat half-assed-ly picked entrance music. Despite being what many would describe as a 'heel' in wrestling terms, and certainly cutting her promos as one would, her fiery attitude and consistent strong showing in matches had gained her somewhat of a small following. Said following would simply refrain from joining in on the mild boos that filled the arena; some of the attendees clearly not too happy with the Italian's referral to the crowd in her past 'speech.'
Soon ring side, clad in her somewhat scanty wrestling bikini, the Italian would roll her shoulders aggressively, before rolling under the ropes. She couldn't deny that her foe had a figure that suggested a good fight was about to come, even if the girls role in AFW was primarily a non-ring role.
Appearances rarely interested the Italian though, as did previous experience and job roles. Sure, if you looked like you could give a fight, Diana would be more inclined to pay attention, but the Italian was not so simple and empty minded to base her matches simply on appearances of potential foes. If she herself had been judged on past experience by the women she had already faced in AFW, she would of likely not of participated in even a fraction of the high-paced matches she'd been in. And she certainly wouldn't of met her.
She'd merely grunt, bringing her arms up already and starting to sidestep into her corner. As always her near complete lack of interest in smack talk left the woman silent, even with the knowledge that her foe would likely partake in such trash talk given her role in AFW was a speech-centred one.

Re: Diana Accera vs. Megumi Momoi - Step Up
And there she was.
Megumi had seen Diana before - she’d done commentary on her, been at ringside - but there was a stark difference between watching someone from the safety of a commentator’s table and being in the ring with them, where you stand on an even field. The two of them were about the same height, true, but build-wise it was a bit difficult to tell who was packing more heat. Diana had everything on display, but Megumi’s outfit hid much more.
They’d find out soon, though, wouldn’t they?
The referee ushered them both into the center of the ring, and Megumi eagerly closed in, looking Diana up and down as she approached. ”So,” She gestured to Diana’s outfit. Or lack thereof. ”Did you just forget the rest of your outfit, or…”

Re: Diana Accera vs. Megumi Momoi - Step Up
Meeting in the centre, Diana brought her hands to her hips, the feisty Italian never the sort to ever go for a pre-emptive strike before the match had even begun. It simply wasn't her code.
Stepping close, the smack talk would already seemingly begin, as her soon to be opponent seemed to pick out an easy target. The Italian would simply roll her eyes, keeping her figure stern and braced, not at all covering up or backing down.
Instead of a direct response, she'd simply roll her eyes over to the ref, staring intently; her body language screaming that she wanted nothing more than the words to end and the action to begin.

Re: Diana Accera vs. Megumi Momoi - Step Up
Straight to the point, then. Kids today, no respect for a little back-and-forth banter.
”Have it your way.” ] Megumi rolled her shoulders as the referee went for the bell, looking to get things started. Diana was eager, sure, but that was something which could wind up working against her. After all, Megumi knew a good deal more about her than she knew about Megumi. So that worked in her favor, right from the start.
The bell rang out and Megumi’s hands immediately went up, moving into Diana’s personal space, looking for the lockup. It was time to answer her question from earlier in the clearest way possible.

Re: Diana Accera vs. Megumi Momoi - Step Up
The bell rung, Diana's eyes turned a shade more serious, as they latched back onto Megumis own. Considering the closeness of the two, the Italian considered somewhat of a shock manoeuvre; considering trying to bring her hefty right arm across and downwards immediately across the face of Megumi, aiming to achieve something reminiscence of the first round KO's you'd see in mixed martial arts. It would certainly get the locker room talking.
Instead of course, she'd simply press in, matching up with her foe with hands already intently locking with Megumi. After all, if she wanted a straight up striking match, she wouldn't of come to a wrestling ring.

Re: Diana Accera vs. Megumi Momoi - Step Up
Things went well when Megumi clashed with Diana. At first.
She was managing to hold her own with the Amazon, keeping her ground in the center of the ring. She planted her feet firmly on the mat, put her all into the lockup, and it seemed like they were dead even.
But then fatigue started to set in. Megumi’s mighty muscles were getting diminishing returns. Try as she might to resist it, Diana was pushing her back, step by step, foot by foot, closer and closer to the turnbuckle.
”Come on…” She dug deep and tried to summon her reserves, but it wasn't happening. She was getting pushed back. No way around it.

Re: Diana Accera vs. Megumi Momoi - Step Up
Diana wasn't the sort to push on her advantage with overconfidence. If the woman had been tiny, or 8" tall, regardless of the fact Diana was winning the test she would proceed all the same. Slow and steady.
But as she began to push Megumi into the corner, a thought crossed her mind, that would certainly change up the scenario, and most likely raise an eyebrow of the majority of the audience in attendance, not that she cared.
As her foe began to approach the corner, step by step, Diana would weirdly enough, begin to turn her body. The referee throwing a somewhat curious gaze as the Italian seemed to be boxing herself in against the corner, the Italians own grip would turn firm, no more push given.
From there, if Megumi was still dumbfounded by her opponents apparent desire to trap herself, Diana would suddenly drop, bringing a leg up to her foe. Pulling on the grip the two had built, she'd aim to monkey flip her foe up and over, trying to literally throw Megumi back first into the corner, albeit at a complete 180 degrees from what you'd expect!

Re: Diana Accera vs. Megumi Momoi - Step Up
Megumi should’ve been in trouble, now. Sure, the referee would try to break them up if they hit the turnbuckle, but Diana was a fast, powerful fighter, and she could make five seconds in a corner really last.
But that didn’t go down. Instead, their positions started to reverse, and Megumi counted her lucky stars, figuring that Diana was just making a rookie mistake that she could capitalize on.
No such luck.
She knew something was wrong when Diana started to move back, but knowing about a problem and actually being able to do something about it are wildly different things. She was sent flying by the monkey flip and smashed into the turnbuckle, hitting it upside down -which meant that gravity brought her down right on top of her skull. Bad times.
She didn’t hit it as bad as she could’ve, but it was still a nasty spill, and it left her on the floor, groaning and dazed.

Re: Diana Accera vs. Megumi Momoi - Step Up
Back flat to the canvas, Diana would lay a second, contemplating that the manoeuvre she just pulled off was most likely her greatest and smartest, at least in terms of starting the match. She wouldn't wait on her foe to rise, quickly pulling herself to a sit up position before turning her body to push up.
Her foe looked somewhat like a rag doll, head and shoulders to the mat, body still somewhat awkwardly strung up in the corner. It was exactly the position she'd imagine her foe would land in, but it looked a lot weird in actuality.
Bending down, she'd aim to grab her spunky foes arm, forcibly dragging her out of the corner and allowing the rest of her body to somewhat awkwardly land back on the canvas. From there, she'd aim to drag her foe somewhat centre of the ring, looking to quickly set up her follow up.
