Re: Diana Accera vs. Megumi Momoi - Step Up
Not even one minute in, and Megumi was on her back, staring up at the ceiling. This could be going better.
She’d be fine. She’d taken worse. Much worse. But, granted, she’d taken much worse almost half a decade ago, and she was a little bit rusty. That rust was starting to show, as she needed a minute to roll over and get her bearings back.
That was a minute she didn’t get, however.
Megumi was still out of it when she got dragged to the center of the ring, but by the time they made it, the fog was starting to clear. She shook her head and pushed up on the mat, trying to get back up before whatever Diana was going for could happen.

Re: Diana Accera vs. Megumi Momoi - Step Up
Dragging the woman to the centre of the ring, Diana's eyes would meet the somewhat hazy ones that stared back at her. It was clear the move had caught her off guard to painful effect, Diana just simply couldn't comprehend how much said manoeuvre appeared to have numbed her.
With the girl on her back, Diana opted for her next manoeuvre. Dropping just above Megumi's head, she'd aim to wrap those thick Italian legs around the neck of the woman, aiming for a bog standard head scissors.
The move wasn't flashy, nor particularly interesting, nor at all likely to score her the win. Diana herself had reservations about using such simple scissors, as in her mind, any woman wrestler could pull off said manoeuvre. Still, every hold had a time and a place, and sometimes simple was best.

Re: Diana Accera vs. Megumi Momoi - Step Up
When Megumi first felt the fleshy tree trunks that Diana called legs wrapping around her head, she didn’t panic. She figured the Amazon was going for something overly elaborate, one of those ridiculous pins that the new blood always seemed to favor. Something she could escape from easily.
Somehow, she hadn’t expected a simple, mundane headscissors. But it was locked on, she wished she had.
”Grrrh!” She thrashed around, rolling left and right, kicking her legs as the pressure poured down on her neck, but there was no getting out of the hold. Diana’s legs exerted extreme pressure, growing tighter by the second, and it was all Megumi could to do try and pry them away and catch a spare breath. That was a stop gap measure at best. She was squeezing in enough air to stay awake and active, but not enough to do much else, and the ropes were looking ever-so far away at the moment…
They’d barely started. Was Megumi really that out-of-practice?

Re: Diana Accera vs. Megumi Momoi - Step Up
Working away at the neck of her foe, Diana opted to simply keep her hands to her side, keeping her cemented in a sort of sit up position. Whilst many would of perhaps opted to try and hold their foes hands, obviously preventing prying at said scissors, Diana simply preferred to prevent a roll or heavy jostling, confident that in this stage of the match her leg strength was enough on it's own to achieve great success.
Sure enough, said prying soon came, briefly rendering her scissors less so before Diana would try to amp up the pressure. Her face would turn somewhat stern, body fully tensing as she'd pour in an immense amount of pressure on Megumi's neck, before simply choosing to release. Had the match been rolling on some, Diana would of perhaps sought victory with the manoeuvre. But given both women's barely touched stamina reserves, she'd opt to save some of the power in her legs, ever wary of the possibility that she might of simply caught her foe at a bad moment; a foe that could turn around and maybe give her the fiercest beating of her life if she took control. Maybe.

Re: Diana Accera vs. Megumi Momoi - Step Up
As bad as this looked - and Megumi imagined it looked plenty bad - she had to keep her cool. That was the trick here. Stay calm, stay cool, figure a way out of this that didn’t involve tapping or going to sleep.
That would’ve been much easier to do if she could take in a full breath.
Diana was strong, Diana was fierce, Diana had a great pair of legs on her, but she wasn’t invincible. Megumi had her advantages, too, she just had to use them. Like, superior experience. Maybe enough experience to take advantage of a good position.
Megumi bit her lip, then planted her feet down hard on the floor and bridged up, trying to push Diana on her back and get her shoulders on the match. If it worked, the referee would start up a count - not likely to score a win, but it might be enough to deter the berserker squeezing the life out of her.

Re: Diana Accera vs. Megumi Momoi - Step Up
Apparently disliking the concept of a near 6" Italian crushing all sense from her, Megumi's own simple counter to a somewhat simple move was arguably the smartest response possible. Sure, Diana could try to force Megumi back to the ground, and sure, the Italian was damning strong. But a woman's legs against Megumi using the full leverage of her body?
No fool, Diana would release before the referee could even begin to count, pushing her legs off her foe in a somewhat spectacular fashion; that alongside Diana's push with her arms, resulted in a backwards roll-to-cartwheel that left the amazon standing.
Never the sort to admire her handiwork, Diana would then burst into a sprint, running straight past her foe and recoiling off the ropes, intending to meet Megumi once more with vicious intentions; intentions dependent on Megumi's own stance and plan of attack!

Re: Diana Accera vs. Megumi Momoi - Step Up
Megumi took in nice, long, very much appreciated gulps of air when she was finally freed from Diana’s clutches, followed by a brief bout of coughing and wheezing. She wished she had the luxury of just staying down there and recuperating, but that wasn’t about to happen. Not when Diana was on the attack.
Megumi sneered, cursed, and pushed up as Diana went bounding towards the ropes. ”Back at it, then.”
It wasn’t going to be a pretty match, but then, Megumi’s matches never were. She was more interested in being effective, and that meant getting up, pushing forward, and plowing into the oncoming Diana with the biggest, sloppiest spear she could conjure up.

Re: Diana Accera vs. Megumi Momoi - Step Up
Diana was not the sort of arrogant to think her blatant follow assault would not be perceived by her foe, even if she was somewhat dizzy from the brief but tight neck scissors. She did just run in front of her for christ sake. Recoiling off the ropes, her response would be based on the position of her foe, be it still partially lying, resuming a crouch, or if Megumi had pulled herself all the way standing.
Bouncing off the ropes, the Italian would be somewhat caught off guard as her foe didn't exactly manage a change of stance, but a full blown counter attack. Essentially running into the spear, her foe simply closer than she anticipated, Diana's base would be taken somewhat from beneath her. Given the sloppiness of said manoeuvre, both from the lack of strong base and lack of force behind said spear, Diana would be downed but not as quickly nor harshly as one would expect.
As her feet would begin to leave her, somewhat flying either side of Megumi, Diana would instinctively bring her hand down to somewhat hook around her foe, in an attempt to turn her fall into a impromptu snap-DDT!

Re: Diana Accera vs. Megumi Momoi - Step Up
Something happened. Megumi figured that much out on her own. Something went wrong, she just wasn’t wholly sure what that was..
She’d slammed into Megumi with the world’s worst spear, and things seemed good. They were going down, she’d end up top, and from there she could work a little ground and pound and make some real progress.
But then it all went wrong. She felt Diana grabbing her head, and suddenly there was just pain - tons of pain - running through her skull. Her first thought was a DDT, but that didn’t quite sound right. At least, she’d never seen anyone counter a spear with one. Didn’t think it was possible.
But the evidence was hard to argue, as she rolled over to her back and cradled her aching head. Some comeback. ”Damn it…”

Re: Diana Accera vs. Megumi Momoi - Step Up
Not so much a 'move of the year,' so much as a simple reaction to the fact she was going down. Might as well of took her foe with her, in painful fashion of course.
Grunting from the collision of back to mat, the toned figure briefly squashing her against it, Diana would take advantage of her foe rolling to push in the opposite direction, trying to at least for the moment push past the force of the spear. Even if it lacked force, the canvas of a wrestling ring was no soft surface to land on.
Giving her own back the briefest of arches as she rose, Diana would pace towards her foe at a somewhat cautious pace, unsure if the impromptu DDT hit it's mark completely. If she approached without issue, she'd shoot a sharp, shoot style kick, clean into the back of her foe, to try and get the ball rolling in her favour once more.
