Taking out frustrations (open RP/mixed spar challenge)

Max's arms held tight around Makie, but his feet didn't stay put as the black-haired girl pushed against his softened abs. He felt himself being pushed backwards towards the ropes, only to feel her release her hold on his midsection. He thought to maybe try and use his hold to flip Makie and switch to a quick powerbomb, but before he even finished that quick thought he felt another punch to his abs, causing his arms to release their hold and try to tend to the tenderized midsection.

Makie almost collapsed onto one knee after throwing that last punch. Her body was still sore from all those previous slams, and right now she felt like she was running on fumes. A part of her brain told her to take a break, to not get so hung up on winning what was just a spar. She generally tended to ignore that part of her brain, much to her brothers' dismay.

Leaning wearily against Max, she grabbed at his wrist, twisting her lithe body to whip him towards the ropes.

Max wasn't exactly in great condition right now either, although not being subject to one of those long submission maneuvers for a while probably helped him. It was those abdominal blows that were truly winding him right now.

He felt Makie's exhaustion as she wearily leaned against him and grabbed for his wrist, using her own body weight and twisting motion to throw the silver-haired wrestler at the ropes. As Max was approaching the ropes he had two thoughts come to mind: grab them and not bounce back, or bounce back and try for a cross-body block. He chose the later, and as Max jumped up and twisted his body sideways, lord knows what mistake he made depending on what Makie had planned.

In any other circumstance, Max's cross-body manuever would have worked, as Makie would not have expected it. Unfortunately for Max, Makie had plans of her own.

As Max bounced off the ropes, Makie ran after him, timing her steps as she ran. Twisting at the last minute, she spun, aiming a spinning kick at where she assumed Max's head would be. Given that he himself became airborne the moment he bounced back, however, she might wind up hitting his chest or midsection instead. Either way, Max's knee would catch Makie in a glancing blow across her temple, causing her to cry out and spin around onto her back, clutching her forehead and kicking at the mat.

Max had thought this was the best plan of action when he had turned around, already ready to be airborne as he jumped and twisted his body to the side for the crossbody, but he saw that Makie had a similar, but more devastating thought.

In Max's case, his lower legs were bent back so that the knees were pushed forward, but in Makie's case, she was aiming her foot as the foremost projectile, and with a rather devastating kick prepared with them too. In one sense, it was good for Max because that could have been his head, but in another sense, it didn't help that his sternum took the crushing blow of the foot. He felt his knee bang against something hard yet soft. Before he even landed with the pain searing through his chest and the wind truly knocked out of his lungs, Max knew that his knee had connected with Makie's head. He just hoped that it was something like her eye that had been the soft spot.

As he crashed to the ground, their bodies twisting to the sides as the torque swung them in the air, Max felt a giant coughing spat coming on as he lay on the mat flat. He needed to check on Makie in his mind, but his body just wouldn't move for it.

For the second time in this match, a ringing flooded Makie's ears as her head vibrated like a bell. Still clutching her forehead, she rolled over onto her side, too dizzy to do anything else. Her vision was nothing but a riotous swirl of colours, and her sense of direction was all over the place-- it even took her a while to even realize that she was lying on the mat! The other thing she soon realized was that Max had nailed her good.

She lay there for a few seconds, unable to move save for a slight twitch of her leg. Then, slowly, she tried to roll over, but instead fell over onto her back again, staring up at the lights of the gym.

"M..maybe...we should...take a...break now?" she murmured. At the rate she and Max were going, they were both going to be leaving this gym in stretchers.

Max wasn't exactly in the best condition after that impact, having the breath knocked from his lungs for the umpteenth time in the spar, and the third time within a matter of moments. He was coughing and gasping for his breath back which he finally got as he rolled to his side and fell flat on his back as he stared at the ceiling and the lights.

He coughed a few more times as Makie murmured the request for the break. He was more than happy that she had requested the break because he was about ready to swallow his own pride and ask for the same. He managed to get the words out of his mouth with a bit of wind taken from them, "Yes...that...might be a good idea..."

For a few more moments, Makie lay on her back, catching her breath as she tried to recover. Slowly, her vision came back into focus, and while her forehead was throbbing like hell, she at least didn't feel upside down any more. She took a few more moments to catch her breath, before pressing her palms to the mat and pushing herself up into a sitting position. A dull, aching pain shot up her back, and she winced, noting that Max had really done a number on her. Then again, upon looking across the ring to the silver-haired fighter, she saw that she hadn't exactly gone easy on him either. Hmmm...maybe I went overboard for just a simple spar...

She ran a hand through her damp hair. "For a...crazy man with a hammer...you're pretty good," she said as she caught her breath.

Max breathed in heavily a few more times before he found it in himself to roll to his side and prop himself into a sitting position as well. A few red marks could be seen formed on his abdominal area from the numerous punches he had received as he let out a light laugh, for once not followed by a cough.

"For a girl with a pretty face...you ain't too bad yourself..." Max would give another light laugh before following up, "in fact I'm pretty sure you're kicking my ass...."

"And so...you've decided...to win by flirting instead?" Makie managed with a wry grin as she grabbed onto the ropes, slowly pulling herself up to her knees. "At...this rate...you won't be...winning many matches...in Tension."

She wrapped her arm around one of the ropes and leaned against it, allowing herself to catch her breath as she hung from the middle rope. After she found herself feeling a little better, she spoke again. "So, you want to continue this, or do you think we've battered the hell out of each other enough for one day? Because I'm still game if you are, but seeing as this is a spar, we can stop anytime."
