'Revival' in C sharp

"Uuungh... what time is it...?" These were the first, mumbled words that came from Seraphim after her wicked match with Karina Rine, and as she slowly opened her one, crimson eye, she realized not a damn thing had changed since she had gotten here, currently resting and bored as ever in the infirmary. Those familiar white walls around her, the sound of medical equipment, the soft bed beneath her and the warm sheets, the gauze over her wounds… all too familiar. But for once, she was here without regret, taking a long sigh as she lied there, noticing she was wearing a light blue medical gown like Rheena, causing her to roll her eye. Yep… she had been here so many times before, and she felt like sometimes, her hospital was her home away from home over the years of her life, even outside the AFW.

After realizing it was the early evening when she caught the time, she then checked her injuries, feeling the gauze pad and a few stitches in her skull where she was hit and bleeding before, but Seraphim shrugged it off. She had more stitches than she could count. Quickly recalling one wound in particular though, she opened her mouth a little, immediately feeling the pain from her cracked jaw, and felt around with her tongue where the missing tooth was. The doctorâ€s got it set back in quick, Seraphim knowing personally and from experience there was often a 30 minute time window, and there was wiring to keep it stable. ‘Heh… going to have to lay off solids this week.†Seraphim thought to herself as a way to find amusement through the pain. All her wounds would heal up fully with enough time, and Seraphim always healed quickly anyway, but it was still always a hassle when you knew you had metal in your mouth and had to change your diet. Doctors would have recommended 2 to 4 weeks, but Sera knew she just needed one.

Wanting to laugh, she felt a faint rush in her head from the morphine in her, glad that it helped her headache reduce. Sure, Seraphim was a masochist and enjoyed the pain, but when she wasnâ€t in a match, it was always just a hassle. Not to mention there were two places her masochism didnâ€t partake too, and that was either having a splitting headache, or a blow to her lower gut. Tilting her head up for a moment, she looked at Karina, wanting to check up on her next as Seraphim just then remembered about her opponent, hoping her condition wasnâ€t terrible and starting to worry when she remembered all of the punishment she went through.

Karina had been given transfusions because of the lack of blood she had suffered, the ring was almost bathed by her blood and her light headedness only made it worse. She was allowed to rest in the same room as Seraphim though Karina was not awake, they had given her enough drugs to put an elephant to sleep since Karina was trashing and flailing the entire time. The good news was that Karina was going to be alive and kicked soon, her wounds had been stitched and treated carefully so she could no longer bleed out. Her clothing and guitar were taken care off, they needed alot of cleaning to wash the blood from them. Karina though wasn't one to be sleeping for long. They estimated her sleeping the entire night but instead she was starting to wake up already, whispering out softly to herself. " ..How long have you been dead...? " It was faint but still it was loud enough for Seraphim to hear, it held a tone of sorrow within it, even if it was a whisper it was enough to identify how she meant it.

Karina shifted underneath her blankets, trying to get comfortable, rolling to lay on her side, facing Seraphim and her bed and Karina brought her hands under her cheek, looking like she was sleeping peacefully, her body did seem alot more at ease as it used to be in the ring, though that was because all her wounds were treated and her body was limp enough to stabalize her muscles and let her rest nicely on her side. Karina was in a dreaming state and she often spoke through her sleep or so she heard after spending her first night wth her sister. With a troubling past came haunting memories that disturbed her sleep many times but since the drugs kept her in a forced state of slumber, all she could do is whisper out what was going on in her dream.

Seraphim was instantly relieved when she saw Karinaâ€s hospital bed beside her own. She had been worried about the girl from all her wounds she suffered, especially in seeing how much blood she had lost. Seraphim may have enjoyed hurting the girl, and even wished at times they could have fought more, but once she had reached such a bloody state, Seraphim knew that the girl was seriously risking her health. And now, as she slept, Seraphim couldnâ€t help but give a soft, pained grin at the site of her. The woman was really something else, Seraphim never thought sheâ€d find another opponent who could take as much punishment as her, but after today, she realized that there may have been hope yet in finding the perfect rival. Or perhaps, better yet, a friend.

Hearing her soft whisper, Seraphim blinked a few times, laying back down again since she still felt pain along her spine despite the morphine, but at least now turning her head to the girl while she did, observing her slowly. She had thought Karina was awake, and just speaking with her eyes closed, so she answered, letting out a slow sigh as she did. “Mm.. looks like a little over two hours” She said in a bit of amusement, thinking Karina was talking about her for the moment like it was a joke to lighten the mood. “Donâ€t worry, your guitarâ€s fine; Hell, better condition than you.” She said with a small laugh, only to cringe and subconsciously bring a hand to her jaw after she had. Waiting for a response though, Seraphim was a little confused, the girl looked… sad, like their match, despite the fire and vigorous spirit she had in the end had still upset her. ‘Is it because they betrayed her…?†Seraphim thought, not at all aware that the girl was in fact still asleep.

Karina rolled onto her back once more, her eyelids starting to flutter tightly closed, one hand reaching up to her head to hold her forehead, mumbling out softly to herself. " Two hours..? But we were shopping for five hours today.. " It seemed like whatever Seraphim was saying, Karina was hearing as her mother's words and speaking back to it, the girl bringing one hand down to her earlobe, where her large cross earing was supposed to be but they were taken out for the transfusion, smiling brightly, reliving her youth in her dreams while she continued to speak. " Just kiddingg... Like these earrings? I always wanted them.. " Karina was acting like a child now, bringing both hands up to start pinching her earlobes with a giggle, then after a while she'd start to stretch her arms and legs all the way to their extend, releasing a loud yawn and purred out loudly, completely rested now.

" I still have your guitar mom.. It plays so cool.. But sometimes it makes me feel so... Mad when I play it..---- " Suddenly she stopped half way, her eyes started to open forcefully, as if glass broken right near her ear. It disturbed her dream and slumber all together, glaring up a the ceiling with haf awake eyes, bringing her hand up infront of her eyes to look at it, noticing her black fingernails and also the rather clear light on the ceiling, starting to sit up, though very slowly, unaware that Seraphim was laying near her since she had no idea where she was to soon noticed it by the patient's gown she was wearing, twitching and gripping it gently with both hands. " Oh give me a break.. I'm not staying here. " Karina hated the hospital with a passion, especially needles. She always treated herself because mostly it wasn't that serious that it needed expert's attention. She turned to sit on the side of the bed and immidiatly noticed Seraphim, staring over at her quietly for a few moments, starting to remember why she was here and what she had, quickly bringing one hand to her side of the head, feeling the stitches in her hair, then moving her hand to her forehead, which was also sitched and had a bandage around her entire head to protect her forehead.

It was only after Karina spoke a bit that Seraphim realized the girl was in a blissful slumber, one that made her really feel attached to her dreams, like she was reliving something. Seraphim knew this wasnâ€t exactly a normal though, but after the damage Karina went through and trauma to her head, having a mild illusion in your dreams and talking about them seemed perfectly normal. In fact, Seraphimâ€s roommate, Alison, had done it before the in the past, usually on days her medication was strong or she just got back from the doctors, so, it seemed legitimate and understandable. Besides, it helped Seraphim have to worry less about Karina, especially when she saw that adorable smile and heard her giggle~ Seraphim had to hold back her own laugh, reminded that it hurt to do that, just watching in amusement as she showed off where her earrings would have been, another thing that Seraphim was also a bit jealous about.

Though, as she listened, Seraphim also felt like she learned a bit more about it, hearing how she got the guitar from her mother, who she was apparently very close to. And then, she was even a little perplexed, wondering what she meant by how it sometimes made her mad, thinking just what she meant by it. Still, the white haired vixen smiled a little, hoping to see this for as long as possible, enjoying the site thoroughly. But then suddenly, the girlâ€s eyes snapped open, and gave a glare, looking around the room like she was in a prison. Seraphim had to admit, she hated hospitals too, and if she could have, she would stay at home, but as reckless as she was, Seraphim had common sense and knew the smartest choice, so she would stay for a little while anyway. The doctors did hate her here, especially after what she put the doctors through when she was here with Sharaiya, but fortunately, like or hate, a doctor had to do their job, and Seraphim felt like maybe she should thank the staff for their good work, she definitely felt like sheâ€d be a lot better with how they took care of her.

Seraphim sat up though when Karina did, about to speak when suddenly, that once cute, dreamy tone was crushed by an annoyed desire to escape, and Seraphim frowned. “H-Hey, what are you--? Hold it, youâ€re just going to make it worse and break your stitches!” A little annoyed as well, her friendly thoughts with Karina fading for now, Seraphim spoke out just a little demanding, both worried, but also amazed she could be so reckless to try and leave. Sure, she could understand the hatred for it, but leaving now would just be stupid!

Karina blinked when she listened to Seraphim, inspecting the girls wounds before she'd go back to gently placing her hands upon her own. As much as Karina hated to admit it, these wounds were infact serous bussiness and Seraphim was right, if she'd try to leave, who knows what would happen. " Hmm.. I guess so. " She'd then start to look around, wondering where her guitar was, looking over her shoulder at the other side of the bed and it wasn't there either. She figured they must've taken it, much like her clothing to get it cleaned but she still wanted it! She nodded at Seraphim though and she turned ti sit against the back of the bed and look up at the TV's which were off, sighing heavenly and throwing the blankets back over her lap, grabbing the pillow and pushing it up to let it rest against her upper back, looking around for a remote and grabbed it once she found it. " So.. Seraphim. How's the face? "

Karina once again took a hold of the side of her head, gently tracing her finger across the stitches before she'd turn the TV on and zap through some channels, deciding to make a conversation with Seraphim while she would no doubt bore herself in this place though with the person who managed to knock her out through sheer strength, it wouldn't be too boring! " Good thing I have a hard skull but seriously.. Can we order some food here? I'm starving.. I could kill for a bag of chips, though it has to be the natural flavor since those actually taste good. " Karina spoke with a bored yet cute tone, stopping at a channel with a " Dora the Explorer " program on it, twitching but saying nothing about it, though her angry, cute expression towards the screen would be funny to see.

Phew… at least even after the beating she took, the girl was still smart enough to know what to do. Seraphim could relate, she hated this place too, but again, even she knew the difference between right, wrong, and just being plain stupid. Watching Karina for a moment as she sat up, Seraphim proceeded in doing the same, jamming the pillow behind her sore back as she heard the girlâ€s question. A small curve in the corner of her lips came to a smirk, and Seraphim went on to explain, sounding proud of what she took, even though she knew she could have probably even taken more. “Oh you know, a cracked jaw, lost a tooth, 16 stitches and a little internal bleeding that was drained; pretty as a princess. Heh, heh-heh… ow…” Rubbing her jaw a little, again finding it painful to laugh or speak to much, she still didnâ€t let it stop her from making small talk with the girl, actually enjoying it for the most part. “What about you, Karina? Howâ€s a… oh, I dunno, the rest of your whole damn body?” Seraphim asked in amusement, knowing she beat the girl up and down. She knew that the girl would have had more in her had it not been for the Era of Hell, but right now, she just wanted to put that past them, even if she knew they had to talk about it at some point.

“Oh, and for food? Hell if I know!” She said with another laugh, cringing a little once more and favoring her jaw. “I was as dumb as you before and often ran outta here the second I could every time!” From her tone, Seraphim did sound like she was kidding about most of it, really just hoping to lighten the mood some. She wanted to see the girl smile a little, or maybe get a chance to really talk to her. But she knew that would take some time, and for now, just took it casual. Seraphim had to admit though, the tone of voice she gave, and seeing her so much more relaxed, it really did make her see another side of her. Seraphim then turned to the TV though, rolling her eye as she admitted a fact she wasnâ€t proud of. “…My roommate watches this too much, try a music channel. Number 51 I think.” Sadly, that last comment was true, Alison was her roommate, and even though she was eighteen, the girl had the mind of a child, and was constantly watching kiddy shows. It annoyed Seraphim, and the last thing she wanted was more of it here when she finally had the ol†tube to herself. Besides, might as well be something Karina liked.. right?

" The body will do fine, just needs a week of resting or whatever. " Karina brought her arms behind her head and used them as extra pillows, changing it to the channel Seraphim said was the music channel and it actually was the music channel though she quickly changed it once she saw what kind of music it was playing... Rap music.. It actually made her shivver in disgust, looking around to ignore most of the channels before she found the phone near the bed, grinning like a evil schoolgirl and quickly picked it up and pressed one of the three buttons. One of the nurses receptionists answere and asked what was wrong, Karina starting to twirl the cord of the old phone around her finger. " Well.. Let's see. You guys got food here right? Well I'd like some fries and some hamburgers! Lots of cheese and ketchup oh and a bag of chips! Hmm.. Those crispy ones will do. "

Karina was alread licking her lips in anticipation, hearing that it could be orderer for her and for free aswell, removing her trapped finger that the cord was wrapped around on and waited, even repeated what she wanted. " Mm.. Oh and I could enjoy a mix of a strawberry with chocolate milkshake... I don't know, you're the nurse, get me all those stuff and make me feel better! Which reminds me. I'd like my earrings and guitar back. I don't care if my guitar is still bloody or not, I'd like it returned so I can actually play my own music instead of listening to drama songs with no actual rhythm in it or watching a girl asking kids to jump with her! Thank you! Oh ad make sure my friend seraphim gets the same order I asked.. Yes the fries and all that, Thank you! " Karina then brought the phone back to seal it and looked over at Seraphim with a thumbs up. " Well, I got us food, I might enjoy it here if they actually get it! " Karina then looked back at the TV and turned it off, if there was nothing on TV that could entertain her then she might aswell take all her attention to Seraphim and learn more about the person who managed to knock her out. Now that she wasn't angry, she was actually quite impressed of Seraphim, she managed to stand afer so many punches she gave the girl, she definitely caught Karina's attention.

Interestingly enough, Seraphim cringed in disgust too when Karina put on the music channel and there was rap on. She liked poetry, sure, but rap just made her think of how stupid people could get rich quick by bragging in a rhyme. Thankfully Karina felt the same, and Seraphim just smirked at her for that, agreeing that it would just be good to turn it off. However, before she did or getting a chance to speak, the girl snatched up the hospital phone, and Seraphim blinked a few times, watching her with a sense of curiosity. As the girl went on, making a big food order, Seraphim subconsciously adjusted her eyepatch, feeling that it was a little crooked. But as she listened, the girl had to hold back from laughing. Karina was just barking out orders like she owned the place! It was a Hell of a sight to see, and as amusing as it was, Seraphim felt her stomach growl just at the food she had ordered. Sure, Seraphim loved to cook, and she even ate quite healthy too, but going for something a little different like this sounded okay every now and then. As long as Karina seemed happy, so was Seraphim. Even better the girl ordered something for Seraphim too, bringing a small smile to her lips, especially how she felt a little heartwarmed when she said ‘friend†during her sentence.

“Hmph, never thought Iâ€d hear someone like you say ‘friend†or ‘thank you,†especially considering you being a member of- er… Ex-member… n-nevermind, sorry.” As habit, Seraphimâ€s first thoughts about the Era of Hell was that she would never see anything good from them, so those words were odd to hear from Karina. However, she did stop herself mid-sentence, letting out a small sigh and feeling bad now that she brought that up, apologizing sincerely about it as she hoped it didnâ€t make Karina feel bad.

Karina listened to Seraphim, her eyes did widen when she spoke about Karina as an ex member of the Era of Hell, releasing a quiet sigh when she thought about it for a moment and then mixing it with Seraphim's words about Karina saying ' thank you ' and ' friend ' It was odd for her too but the Era of Hell never changed Karina in a different way, in her child hood she always loved violence because it always found her, she dealt with it, heck this wasn't the frst time she even was in a hospital. As a kid she broke her bones alot just becase her anger managed made her do stuff that were either too heavy or hard for her to do, like at th age of twelve she picked up a car tire with steel still inside, which heavy even for the mature man.. But once Karina was angry she had a crazy amount of strength, throwing heavy objects at people just because she either looked strange or acted strange.... And thinking about that time, she came to realize she never once called anyone a friend.. There was her mother, who had passed away and her sister, who never once called her sister untill they made peace with eachother that one glorious day.. Course Leiko tried to choke Karina out but that was all minor detail for her.

Karina looked over at Seraphim, noticing the uncomfortable expression she had and merely grinned, shaking her head at her as if teling her not to worry. " It's quite alright, it's still new for me. Oh well, I never did like that organization anyway. Only a few good people I've met that that seem to care about one another, not very heelish but yeah.. I suppose after all this and now talking to you... Heck even looking at you and knowing about you.. " Karina brought one hand down to her lap to squeeze her leg gently, mumbling out softly. " I never did say thank you... Or call anyone my friend.. .... Ah well! I wonder when that damn food arrives, I'm starving. " Karina would look up with a grin and then look back at Seraphim. " So, where did you learn how to fight and endure like that? I mean, damn! I bet if I threw a school table at you, you'd still be standing! "
