Alizeh Midori (D) vs Adrian Kytes: Starting against the Best

Standard Match: Winner determined by pinfall, submission, or knockout.

Standing backstage of the AFW arena, preparing for her first official match here, was one Alizeh Midori. Wearing a gear she had gotten just for her debut in the 'Big Leagues', she took a deep breath in mental preparation. With her gear comprising of a white and orange ensemble with a skirt like style over short shorts and matching boots, all topped off with leopard print trim to honor some of her idols growing up Alizeh's confidence shot up just by seeing herself in the mirror. "Alright girl, doesn't matter if you're first opponent is a former world champ of this place, just means you get to make your case right off the bat." She said to herself with a nod in preparation.

Indeed she had been set right off the bat to face off against Adrian Kyes, a former AFW world champion and someone that would undoubtedly push Alizeh to her limits and then some... But at the same time that excited the green haired girl. The thought of competition such as that being a core reason she had signed here to begin with. Regardless of how the match would go Alizeh was going to make sure to use this opportunity to its fullest. Not only to impress the AFW fanbase, but the higher ups as well. To show she deserved to be in the ring with champion caliber wrestlers on the regular, not just on a as needed basis or for a pity match. No tonight she'd be showing everyone exactly what she could do. Walking out of the dressing room she had been given Alizeh would walk to the entrance area where she would receive the all clear from the backstage worker.

As the explosive electric rhythm of guitars filled the arena Alizeh would come out with just as much energy being put out as the song itself. Smiling and posing for the fans who, if nothing else responded favorably to the song and her energy Alizeh would nod out at them all before she ran down the ramp, high fiving those in the front row as she came down before coming up upon the ring. Leaping up and flying inside the ring Alizeh would slide and land in a crouch before popping up to her feet, posing for the fans who released another fair cheer for the debuting wrestler as the girl descended back against the corner, leaning against it an waiting for her opponent to come down the ramp and meet her.

It was setting up to be a night of firsts for both competitors. For the Emerald Storm it was her first match in AFW and for Adrian Kytes it was her first showing ever since her feud with Death Bunny met a gruesome end for the former cosplayer. Both competitors needed a good showing to establish themselves in the new landscape of the company and both of them knew the best way to do that would be by getting their hand raised at the end of it. But unlike Alizeh, this wasn't the first time Adrian had been under these pressures and she knew how to alleviate them.

I HEAR THE BATTLE CRY:

Bullet Club Leader:

Dressed in her now signature black fake-leather jacket and aviator shades Adrian marched to the ring with a microphone in hand, raising it to her lips as she put her boot on the ring steps "Cut the music!" She demanded, finishing her entrance with only the cheers and jeers of the audience as she stepped through the ropes, not even seeming to notice the green haired woman in the ring with her "Now I know its been a while since any of you have seen me in action so before we begin I think you deserve to be reminded of the greatness that you see in front of you." the former cosplayer told the crowd "So before we begin with my match against... who are you again? I have prepared a Twenty minute power point presentation on just who I am and why you should care." She announced, hand on her chest as though she was doing the whole wide world a favour. And in some way she was! It could have been been 40 minutes but she cut it down in editing.

Alizeh had set herself forward, resting her hands on her knees as she waited impatiently for Adrian to come down to the ring. Every part of her felt like it was charged, ready to burst with energy the moment the bell rang and set off her fuse. But in order to do that she needed an opponent to go against, and soon enough the music of her opponent would kick in, causing Alizeh to smile slight as she focused on the ramp. After all she was about to meet and face a former world champion of the company. Surely it'd be a worthwhile experience in spite of some of the more... nasty rumors Alizeh had heard about the woman before hand.

None the less as the dark clad woman walked down the ramp Alizeh could see that despite losing the belt the woman still certainly carried herself as if she were a champion, looking proud and dominant, something that made the build up within Alizeh grow as she began moving from heel to heel, unable to contain herself and having to move even a little to keep herself contained as Adrian got onto the steel steps to the ring.

Pushing herself up to a full standing position Alizeh would smile and start to approach her... Only for Adrian to ask for a mic to do some talking. Raising an eyebrow in confusion and slightly put off by the action Alizeh would back off, allowing Adrian to enter the ring and say her piece. 'Maybe its something about having to fight a new person?' Alizeh thought to herself, at least having some inkling of understanding if the former champ didn't want to fight debuting wrestler. But no, instead it was somehow worse. It was just this woman wanting to use the match to remind people how great she was with a stupid powerpoint!

Eyes narrowing immediately in a glare any hope Alizeh had of a good and positive match against Adrian was quickly dashed out the window. If she was this arrogant than Alizeh knew just the thing to do, and it definitely wasn't being friendly. So marching forward Alizeh would quickly snatch the microphone out of Adrian's hands before the ring crew could start a powerpoint before the green haired girl stepped backwards, looking to create some space between herself and Adrian as a... precaution while raising the mic up to her mouth. "I have a better idea." Alizeh said before looking at the time keeper. "Ring the damn bell." Alizeh said to them before glaring at Adrian and throwing the mic out of the ring before she could try and cut Alizeh off, being ready just in case the woman tried to start any offense right off the bat after her interruption.

Adrian didn't really have a full 20 minute presentation ready to go, she was never very good at PowerPoint, but the idea that she was so uninterested in the match seemed to rile up the green haired rookie something fierce as she dared to snatch the microphone out of Adrian's hands, demanding that the match begin before the former champ could even take off her jacket and shades but as Alizeh glared at her, Adrian kept smirking.

With the mind games out of the way, Adrian backed off into her corner with a pre-emptive sense of smug satisfaction as she shook off the marketable accessories before turning to face the debuting wrestler with one arm up as the bell rang, giving the universal symbol for a knuckle-lock test of strength to start her AFW career... only for the former cosplayer to quickly spin under any hand reached out in kind and twist Alizeh into a quick wrist lock.

Alizeh did not like to be taken lightly. It was a trait developed over years of being underestimated for her age and frankly she was just ready to fight, plain and simple. So the last thing she wanted to deal with was the egotistical ramblings of her opponent. Regardless if her having a powerpoint was true or not, Alizeh didn't want to wait to find out. So with no reservations whatsoever Alizeh snatched the mic from Adrian's hands, bluntly requesting for the match to start before stepping backwards, towards her corner, watching her opponent the whole time she did so.

As she did so she bounced on her heels, preparing herself one last time before finally, the bell would ring, officially starting the bout between rookie and veteran. Bounding from the corner Alizeh would circle Adrian for a moment, looking for any openings only to of course find none. Instead Alizeh would look up as the woman raised her hand, inviting Alizeh to a test of strength. Narrowing her eyes in suspicion Alizeh would reach up with her own hand, grabbing the woman's.... and immediately regretting it when the woman spun around, putting her in a wrist lock.

"Ugh... seriously?" Alizeh asked with annoyance in her voice as she glared at the dark clad woman before making a move of her own. Ducking low and twisting Alizeh would spin around, twisting up as she did so to reverse the grip Adrian had to try and flip the tables to instead put the former champion herself into the wrist lock!

Adrian was all smiles as she yanked Alizeh into the basic but effective wristlock, even going so far as to reply with a "Ya, seriously." to the green haired woman's face... or at least where her face had been a second ago before the Emerald Storm made her move, which was really Adrian's move but now she was the one getting wristlocked instead! "Gchk- alright..." the veteran grunted through a grimace as she tried to plan out her own retaliation.

The former cosplayer didn't just go low, she did a full on forward roll to untwist her arm out of the hold but unlike her opponent, she stayed down low while the green haired grappler still had both her hands around her wrist giving Adrian an arm free to reach behind and hook in just underneath the knee, sweeping Alizeh's leg out from under her to break the hold before she sprang back to her feet, dusting off her shoulders as she sauntered around the ring.

Alizeh gritted her teeth in determination as she spun out from under Adrian's control, reversing things on her and managing to capture the woman in a wrist lock of Alizeh's own! But even if Adrian's attitude was grating to Alizeh, the woman was a former world champion for a reason and she was feeling it. Because even despite having the woman's limb caught Adrian ducked low, but rather than do so with the intention of retaking control of the wrist lock the woman instead went low, knocking Alizeh's footing out from under her!

"Ngh!" Grunting as she landed on the mat Alizeh looked up, racing herself for an attack that never came as instead the former cosplayer was sauntering around the ring! 'Ok she's seriously starting to tick me off.' Alizeh thought to herself as she quickly got up to her feet. Once she managed to do so Alizeh would wait for the moment Adrian would turn back around to face her, and the moment she did, Alizeh would rear back before swinging forward, aiming a massive chop for her opponent's chest!

If you paused the match frame by frame you could pinpoint the exact moment where Alizeh slapped the smug off Adrian's face without even having to hit her across the cheeks. Admitedly she did it by striking her with the palm of her hand in a much more sensitive place as soon as she turned around from mugging off to the crowd with an impact that could be heard in the cheap seats "Aah!" the ex-champ yelped, spinning around while clutching her flat chest in pain with both arms and turning her back to the Emerald storm for the second time in as many seconds. At least this time it was a genuine recoil and not being a dick.

Alizeh couldn't keep the satisfaction off her face if she tried. The sheer impact of her hand against Adrian's chest was loud, resonating through the air of the arena and making some in the audience wince in reflexive pain. Likewise the force of the chop seemed to knock some sense into Adrian, causing the woman to recoil and turn from Alizeh, not out of disrespect but from pain. Shame that Alizeh wasn't going to cut her any breaks for that. So reaching out to grab Adrian by her wrist and shoulder respectively Alizeh would turn, twisting her hips, and pulling Adrian along to send the ex champ running at the ropes with an irish whip! If she was successful in doing so Alizeh would wait for her to rebound off the ropes before running forward herself, turning and leaping up while raising her leg as she did so, attempting to send the champ falling to the mat with a leg lariat!

Adrian could handle the pace suddenly picking up as she was forced to go for a run across the ring from Alizeh's whip, even picking up a head of steam as she threw herself into the ropes for the extra momentum as she rushed back at the Emerald Storm, this time with her arm out stretched for a running clothesline of her own... only for Alizeh to ruin all of that by jumping up into the air with her legs right in the way of where Adrian was headed "Umph!" the former cosplayer let out as physics did their thing, her legs flying out from underneath her as the veteran was sent crashing to the canvas with a nasty thud.
