Summer Splash 2020: Friction World Title: Adrian Kytes(c) vs Death Bunny: Hell in a Cell

The baleful aura of The Reaper Of Souls swatting at you from behind tended to be well-justified motivation to put a little extra pep in anyone's step. One such clawed extension of her arm narrowly clenching on to Adrian's ankle after the Bullet Commando scrambled beneath the ring in an act of yellow-belied cowardice unbecoming of any champion, although at this particular moment not much blame was being levied against Adrian for doing what 99.99% of people in the arena would do if they were in her wrestling boots. Death scoffing in irritation while righting herself back to her feet, taking plodding steps to where she already knew Adrian was retreating to.

"I'm sorry Ms. Kytes, but they aren't hearing a word you're saying. Aside from their injuries, they appear to be in some form of fear-induced paralysis. It's like they've seen Death itself..." A perplexed doctor overseeing the Jackson Sisters being tended to and stretchered out replied to Adrian from outside the cage, stroking their chin in thought as they all exited. Until a bunny-eared shadow eclipsed Adrian from behind. Death clenching on to Ade's windpipe once she turned around before dragging her to the side. A brief second being taken to situate Adrian's arm over Death's shoulder before she'd snatch the side of Adrian's singlet for another uplifted chokeslam attempt, spite-fueled might being backed behind the plummet.

Adrian was about to denounce Fear Paralysis as a ridiculous concept that no medical professional should be using until she felt the looming presence behind her that cast an ominous shadow over her own. With hesitation, the champion slowly turned around to face her torment in a manner that was clearly too slow for Death Bunny's liking, seeing as how she grabbed Adrian firmly by the throat and ripped her away from the cage door.

Unlike in the ring there was no hasty escape for Adrian this time: when she went up in the air, there was only one way she was ever going to come back down, straight onto the ringside floor shoulders first from that hellacious chokeslam which left the champ lying flat on the thinnest pads yen could buy.

The fact that Adrian still managed to bounce a couple inches atop of what was debatably just the floor with paper thin padding...gave viewers a decent indication as to just how much raw strength the Bullet Commando was slammed down with. Death spitting off to the side after stepping over the splayed out champion, whose playbook she opted to pilfer a few pages from by by scouring beneath the ring for a wooden weapon all her own. The wide-length table being tugged out to a charged pop from the audience who knew where this was going before Death could even finish propping the legs beneath it. Once she did though, she'd encroach upon the downtrodden champion once again and screw on a side headlock for the purposes of guiding her back towards the intended landing zone. Where she'd stuff Adrian's head between her flexed thighs and aim to hoist her atop her shoulders for an aptly named Last Ride power-bomb.

Adrian had just enough energy left after that slam to curl up onto her side against the cage looking as though she was weakly pawing at the sandy edge just beyond the wire barrier, only to suddenly find herself forcefully yanked up to her feet before her back could finish questioning if being vertical was all that great. The former cosplayer didn't offer much resistance beyond dead weight as she was muscled in between the Death Bunny's thighs and hoisted up onto her shoulders, giving her a brief view of what was in her near future if she didn't act fast "Oh no..." she whimpered as she saw the table set up in the aisle, putting two and two together in her dazed state.

With a rush of clarity that usually comes with falling half way down a cliff, when Bunny gave Adrian the final lift, the champion threw down a handful of sand that she'd managed to pick up while still suffering from the Grim Hopper's chokeslam, trying to get enough in her face for the Bunny to let her go without throwing her down into the wood, and reaching out with her spare hand to grab hold of the cage to free herself from the very dangerous predicament that left her boots 6 feet off the ground.

At this point, Death was beginning to wonder if either Adrian was making a concerted effort to become as obnoxious an irritant she'd ever squared off, or if she was just naturally inclined towards that aggravating predilection. The slackened lifelessness with which Adrian carried herself after being yanked off the ground just made it that much more of a hauling effort to get this auburn-haired asshat of a champion into position for her downward plummeting demise. Death making an internal note to just make this as calamitous of a meteoric impact as humanly possible for making D.B. put in the extra work. But Death had done this a thousand times, and was by now exceedingly accustomed to sending adversaries on a splintered descent straight down to hell and if lucky, a weary-eyed awakening in the infirmary ward.

So all went seamlessly, from D.B. slotting Adrian's head between her legs to hoisting the little snot atop her ominous perch...except in one blinding second the whole routine was upended with Death teetering backward with a snarling growl. Cognizant of scant little in her sightless stumbling, all Death noticed was Adrian's weight being freed from her shoulders somehow. Which suited D.B. freaking fine as she had far more important matters to worry about. Like shielding her impaired eyes with one hand and using what little eyesight she had to flounder about with her other hand finding and propping itself beside the wooden table. Not one voice in the arena voicing any notion of approval for the reviled champion and from what was becoming one underhanded trick after another...

Adrian's grand plan to avoid being thrown into the table had worked! Or at least, part one of it had worked. The champion swung into the fence and clung on like spiderwoman but that could only get her so far. She was on the inside of the cell and wasn't about to risk her grip climbing up and trying to hang on to the ceiling for as long as she could just to take a breath. There needed to be a part 2 here or this series was going to end on a cage-hanger.

Twisting her neck to look down it seemed that her pocket-less pocket sand was still doing its thing which was good, but Bunny hadn't had to move far to find a convenient spot to settle down, and that meant Adrian was going to have to think fast before the Grim Hopper climbed up and peeled her off the wall. That wasn't going to be a pleasant landing for the champ but she was going to have to get down somewhere and the softest things around were... "Oh." Adrian blinked as an idea came to her.

Pulling her legs up and bracing herself, Adrian forced herself off the cage and twisting into the air towards the challenger. It was a hell of a feat to do anything like this in the tight space between the cage and the edge of the ring but Adrian was able to corkscrew herself into something that resembled a moonsault off the cage, twisting to land chest-first on top of the challenger, hoping that the Bunny would be enough to break her fall with a shout of "Someone's boobs get in my way!"

Well...at the very least, Death had ascertained whether or not Adrian was either naturally predisposed to being an insufferable troll, or if it was a cognizant choice on her part during matches. There was no flippin way anyone could be this much of an aggravating irritant without it coming off as natural as breathing to them. Still, Death would have rather come to this conclusion without needing to get grains of sand speckled right in her eyesight before coming upon that realization. Twitching eye-lid flutters were the best she could do when it came to attempting to fully open up her peepers, spiked twangs of pain forcing them closed again with a grimaced growl before she'd continue rubbing and digging out the sand once again. The spectacle of having a wrestling match on a beach front never seemed more absurd than in this one very justifiable moment of literally blinding rage...

Through teary-eyed squinting, Death was beginning to see straight again. Misshapen blobs were beginning to solidify into the caged ring and the bellowing dude-bro wrestling fans outside. Some of whom she'd just now realized were pointing above and behind her. An early warning sign regrettably coming nowhere near early enough as D.B. swiveled around and caught wide-eyed sight of Adrian in mid-corkscrew, and caught her outright soon afterward as the Bullet Commando splashed down right on top of the Bunny Reaper and right through the table propped up behind them. Wooden fragments popping into the air and around Death's splayed out carcass, spread-eagled and buried beneath the caved in sides of the table and the champion herself. Who probably had a softer landing thanks to Death's plump boobs currently being mushroomed beneath the champions...let's say modest offering.

The crunch of splintering plywood sounded all the sweeter when it wasn't Adrian going back first through the propped up board, even as shards of broken table lashed out against her and her knees smacked down on the floor the champion could be safe in the knowledge that she had come off better from that high-risk stunt. The highest risk she had probably gone for a while, she had been jumping from just above the top rope height to the floor, backwards, through a table and she nailed it.

"Hah..." She wheezed as she pulled herself from the wreckage, crawling up to the ring apron to pull herself back to her feet, staggering back into the cage as she made the climb to verticality "Hah!" She laughed, giving a shaky stomp to the chest of the downed Rabbit for good measure "You guys all thought I was screwed, didn't you? Well guess what? I AM THE BEST!" She ranted through heavy breathing as she began the arduous work of bringing the six foot tall Bunny back into the ring.

In the wide world of wrestling, there's a certain occurrence in matches that the unimaginative referred to as "Chekhov's Table". Whenever a table was set up, or a bag of thumbtacks was scattered onto the ring canvas, or any variable of an outside element was introduced...someone eventually had to be the unwilling victim of the newly presented weapon. Even if it was an hour since that instrument of destruction was set-up. Scant few were the instances in which this iron-clad rule was proven wrong, and Death would have much rather preferred today being one of those rarefied examples.

Whatever respectful reverence the awestruck audience may have had for Adrian's soaring acrobatics didn't even have a chance to be voiced once the champion started bellowing like the megalomaniacal egotist everyone knew she was and started booing her for. A shameless wobble came from Adrian's disrespectful stamp onto Bunny's boobs, who'd huff a labored breath and begin stirring about beneath her timbered tomb before obeying the dragging ascension thrust upon her. Being rattled and in a staggered stupor equated to Death being ushered back inside the ring with zero resistance being levied.

As Adrian rolled Death Bunny into the ring, she couldn't help but think of what happened to the last person who tried to put the former cosplayer through a table. And how they themselves went through the wood instead... and that one time River Styx landed on the edge of the table she had laid on its side just for good measure. Eventually people were going to have to stop trying to put the champ through things, but until then Adrian was free to keep taking victories from it.

Scrambling in herself, Adrian went straight in to pin the Grim Hopper, folding the big bunny up as though she'd just been powerbombed in the ring, all to make it easier for the wily Champion to kick her legs back and hook them over the second rope for extra leverage. Just for good measure.
