Nanami Tomonari vs. Emily Nelson - Underworld vs. Highland

Nanami wasn't doing great here in AFW, with her never scoring even a single win. And now, she was booked to face Emily Nelson, one of the Wrestle Angels alumni, which worried the former sukeban a little. Still, Nanami was determined to emerge victorious in the end of this match, so she prepared herself as she waited for her cue to make her entrance. Clad in her one-piece dark leotard, she wrapped a white hachimaki around her head before she was told that it was time for her to make her entrance.

Nanami Tomonari:

Nanami received a lukewarm pop from the crowd, which was already expected due to her losing streak. But she believed that it was more due to her bad luck than the lack of talent. Still, many considered that Nanami would be the one losing this match due to her facing a Wrestle Angel, but she was determined to win no matter what. Soon, she reached the ring and made way into it. She would do some light stretches before she hopped on the balls of her feet whole waiting for her opponent to show up.

Nanami wouldn't have to wait long.

"The Wicked Symphony" by Avantasia began to play, violet and fuschia lights strobing as Emily made her way into the ring. The audience cheered as the former Wrestle Angel strode down the ramp, the tall Scotswoman's hazel eyes fixed resolutely on the ring. She only casually brushed aside her long pink-brown hair as she made her way down the ramp, her gaze never once straying from her soon to be opponent.

To be honest, she knew very little about who she was fighting today. She knew that Nanami Tomonari was apparently a skilled striker, but beyond that, she knew little about the other girl's history, or any significant matches of hers. Approaching the ring, Emily got a good look at Nanami-- a slender, willowy figure clad in a form-fitting black leotard, boots and gloves, with a build well suited to speed and to striking. Her long, violet hair went down past her waist, and that and her elegance reminded Emily more than a little of Risako. She didn't have the posture of a fighter, however-- Emily was immediately struck by the excited blush on her cheeks, and the good-natured smile on her lips.

Sliding under the ropes, Emily casually brushed her own hair back before striding towards Nanami. "So ye're the lass I'm fighting tonight?" she asked. "Emily Nelson, pleased t'meet ye're acquaintance. I hope ye came prepared for a fight tonight, lass, because I came looking for one."

Nanami watched as Emily made her appearance, and she was rather astonished by her. Emily seemed to be carrying a warrior-like aura, and she could tell that she was a skilled wrestler. The fact that she looked absolutely stunning didn't hurt either. Making sure that she could match with her opponent, Nanami waited for Emily to enter the ring. When the former Wrestle Angel closed in, Nanami held her head high and her chest puffed up, placing a hand on her hip.

"Nice to meet you, Emily-san," Nanami said. "Well, if you're looking for a fight, I'll gladly give you one." She would look into Emily's eyes, as if telling her that she would give her opponent her absolute best so that she could win in this match. It didn't matter that she had to face someone from the vaunted Wrestle Angels, Nanami would not back down from a challenge. After a while, the referee would get between them to ensure that both of them were ready for the match.

Up close, Nanami was nothing to scoff at-- a bit shorter than Emily, and definitely of a lighter build, but her willowy frame betrayed a physical control that spoke to her being an adept striker and high-flyer-- definitely not someone to underestimated. Even so, something about her nervous eagerness almost immediately endeared Emily to her, especially the way she seemed to puff her chest up and stand a little taller as Emily greeted her. Maybe Emily's past as a Wrestle Angel was known to this girl, or maybe Emily had just made a good impression with her greeting. Either way, it was clear that Nanami was eager to impress the Scotswoman.

Emily smiled, despite herself. She remembered when she had been a rookie too, always looking to prove herself as worthy to her next opponent.

"That's the spirit, luv," Emily replied with a smile, her hands on her hips. "Just make sure ye can back up those words, as I'm not going t'go lightly on ye!" At the ref girl's urging, Emily would then back away towards her corner, before the bell rang. Hopping out of the corner, Emily eyed Nanami, and raised her arms, wordlessly motioning for a lockup...

Nanami nodded upon hearing Emily's words, and she planned to show her what she was made of. "You better. I'm not going to lose either..." Nanami declared before she stepped back towards the corner, preparing herself for the fight. And when the match finally began in earnest, she would step away from the turnbuckle, looking at her opponent who raised her arms, as if offering to have a lock-up with her.

Never the one to back off from a challenge, Nanami would step forth, latching herself against the body of Emily, pressing herself against her. She gritted her teeth as she would begin exerting herself, her boots digging into the canvas as she would try to use her strength to match if not surpass her opponent. She would shimmy and sidle to the side while grappling with her opponent, hoping to gain an upper hand over her.

"H-here I go... hnghh...!"

Emily had half-expected her lighter opponent to avoid the lockup, to try to instead outflank her with an attempted suplex, or to instead dive right at her even with an attempted drop-kick. But to her pleasant surprise, Nanami accepted her challange and came right at her, tying up aggressively with her in a collar and elbow lockup. For a moment, the two women's foreheads were almost butting as they twisted and pushed against one another.

"Nnngh...you certainly are a brave one, I'll give ye that," Emily said with a grin. While Nanami wasn't lacking in the strength department, Emily decided to quickly take the initiative, spinning around to lock an arm around Nanami and try to squeeze her just short of her impressive rack in a side headlock, giving the Japanese girl a small sample of what she would be in for in this match.

Unless interrupted, Emily would squeeze Nanami for a few short seconds, before suddenly whipping her towards the rope, running at her with a clothesline as she came bouncing back!

Grappling with Emily, Nanami grunted as her muscles tensed. She wanted to show her opponent what she was made of by engaging her in the lock up. But then, Emily decided to take the initiative by twisting around before hooking an arm around Nanami's head, pulling her head down into a side headlock. "Nghh!!" Nanami closed one eye as she felt Emily's soft breast pressing against her cheek. She began flailing as she tried to pull herself out of the headlock.

But Emily wasn't done with her just yet as she quickly released Nanami from the headlock before she sent her running towards the ropes with an Irish hip. Getting her mind back in order mid-run, Nanami would spin around and hit the ropes with her back, rebounding back towards Emily, who was about to hit her with a clothesline. Seeing what her opponent was planning to do, Nanami would dip low, ducking under her opponent's arm and running towards the opposite ropes.

From there, Nanami would rebound from the opposite ropes and return back to where Emily was. Then, she would leap up, using the momentum of her rebound as she would extend out her arm, trying to hook it around her opponent's body, looking to bring her down with a dynamic-looking slingblade. The crowd would pop by the display of athletic wonder as Nanami would attempt to take her opponent down with the move.

Emily built up speed as she ran at the rebounding Nanami, raising her arm and powering up for a clothesline that would flatten the black-clad Japanese girl. Except, that was, Nanami reacted more quickly than Emily had anticipated, ducking her clothesline with a lithe grace that definitely reminded her of Risako (and Megumi, and Chigusa, and quite a number of the other high-flyers from the old league). Almost unbalanced, Emily was forced to spin around to face Nanami again, rebounding off the ropes towards her...

The next thing Emily knew, Nanami was flipping over her in a blur of movement, purple hair trailing behind her like a live thing, as her arm hooked around her head. Gravity suddenly worked against Emily, and she was pulled off her feet and sent slamming down onto the small of her back. She grunted from the impact, but immediately rolled, trying to get back to her feet in time for Nanami's next attack...

Nanami managed to take Emily down with a well-timed slingblade, and she smiled as she saw her opponent's body impact against the mat. Of course, it was still too early to celebrate that as she planned to keep up with her offense. Standing over her opponent's downed body, Nanami would continue with her offense by leaping up before landing a standing elbow drop right into her opponent's body, driving her elbow into her opponent's sternum.

The crowd would begin rallying behind Nanami, seeing the plucky underdog trying to gain dominance over her opponent. Many of them thought that this would be it. This would be the first match that she would win here in this promotion.

Emily had underestimated Nanami, she realized with a curse. She had walked in thinking that Nanami was a rookie, that she would be able to out-fight and out-manouever her...but the girl had been trained well. She knew that her speed and striking power were her best asset here, and she was using them effectively.

At that moment, she saw Nanami going for an elbow drop. Cursing, Emily rolled, trying to avoid the blow in time. If she managed to avoid it, she would spring back to her feet in a ready position...otherwise, she would give a loud grunt as Nanami's elbow hammered into her, sending her rolling onto her side....
