Ed Sealgaire vs Dash Turner: Bash At The Beach
Standard Match:
Match Ends via Pinfall, Submission, KO, or Countout
Match takes place on a beach ring
Location: Miyazu Beach, Kyoto
Ed Sealgaire let out a nervous sigh as he slid on his knee pads, quickly followed by his elbow pads, and adjusted his speedo, making sure everything fight just right. This was going to a very...unique match. Not that the rules were any different...but the location was...interesting.
Tension management, as of late, had become interested in finding new locations around Japan, to hold "special local events", to make up for the fact that most AFW ppvs took place outside of Japan now. Eager to please the local audience, management rented the use of Kyoto's Miyazu Beach, building a ring and a stage right there ocean side, for a special event to be locally televised and attended by local Tension fans. It had been an interesting day, wrestlers in swimsuits signing autographs, a wet T-shirt contest for female fans to compete in, and finally, the matches themselves.
Given it was a local event, they didn't bring out the biggest stars, letting some bikini clad trainees handle the first couple of matches, with Ed scheduled with some guy named "Dash" for the main event. Apparently, from the info he got, this Dash person was a total beach bum surfer guy, which is why they picked him for this event. As for Ed himself, despite his being brand new to the company, the fact that he had picked speedos as his special hentai attire, (and already had promotional pictures of him in them on AFW's site), led to management deciding he'd be perfect for the beach event.
Too be honest, he was pretty sure they just wanted "the speedo guy" and got him confused with Ryo.
Still, he was here, and the chance for a match, any match, was always exciting, so when his music played and his name announced, out he came, blushing a little as people started taking flash photos of him in his outfit. It was a great day for a match too. The sun was shining warm, clear blue sky, and a crowd of people watching as he came down, stepping off the ramp and onto the warm sand. The ring itself was on a flat piece of sandy ground, a beach themed ring, with wave decals on the apron, and even surfboards outside the ring, against the turnbuckle poles, with guardrails placed several feet from the ring, with even sandcastles built up as decoration by the ring crew. The only side of the ring without guard rails, and without fans as well, was the side that was almost right against the ocean front itself, making for both a stunning visual, and, if he guessed the bookers intentions right, temptation to toss his opponent into the tide.
Clever.
Entering the ring, Ed stood on the turnbuckle, raising his arms for the fans to whistle and catcall at the teenagers toned and tight body, the ponytailed high flyer blushing again before laying down on the turnbuckle and the ropes, appearing for all intents to be lazying about on the beach, as he awaited his opponent.

Re: Ed Sealgaire vs Dash Turner: Bash At The Beach
Dash hadn't actually seen a single production of a AFW event since signing with them. Sure he had put in the time to research the company and their offshoot Tension brand before signing, but that homework had been easy. Watch a few matches here and there, scope out the sorts of wrestlers he would be going up against. It was a veritable smorgasbord of attractive people in a show that actually had a budget. Cherry on top was getting a bit frisky was not only okay, it was encouraged and celebrated. This had been his ideal setting, just being able to kick back and enjoy himself without the stressful day to day of driving from one indie show to the next.
He hadn't been approached about a match until now, not had he ever answered the call when open challenges were issued. Mostly because he was unreliable, not even showing up to a venue unless they actually booked him. This however, was different. A free day at the beach, where he got paid? Beautiful. Still, being cramped up backstage waiting around for his match was no good. He had opted to instead take a seat among the crowd and enjoy the show first hand. Kicked back, arms behind his head, he cool watched each match unfold, taking not of a few of the girls he was very intent on seeking out after things closed down for the afternoon. It was a warm, clear day with nary a cloud to block out the warm glow of the sun. He couldn't be happier.
Everyone had brought their A game today both in performance and choice of attire. Tastefully attractive men and women all on display for the crowd. Even though the event was comprised of lesser known talents to Tension such as himself, he was hard pressed to tell most of them were actually rookies. AFW set a high bar. He eyed the most recent guy to come up and take up residency on the turnbuckles like a hammock, smirking softly to himself. He had done the same thing a few times. As Ed's entrance wound down, he looked to the ramp to see who he was going to be up against.
“Hm.”He canted his head thoughtfully. “What a coincidence. Someone else is using my theme.” He wasn't sure how to feel about that. He was going to have to talk with management about that after the event. He as well as the audience waited for someone to show their face on the ramp... but nobody came. Dash leaned back in his chair with a raised brow. Who would be so irresponsible to no show their own match?
“Dash Turner!” His ears perked as the confused ring announce nervously called his name, trying to sound enthusiastic. He blinked his bright aqua eyes, letting out a laugh that turned a few heads his way.
“Whoops. 'scuse me.” The blond popped up from his seat, sliding his way through audience members and hopping over the occasional empty chair. The sand made his coming oddly silent, save for the passing murmurs of confused patrons not sure who he was. Planting a hand on the guardrail he effortlessly floated over top of it with a leap, planting his bare feet on the sandy beach.
He made his way to the nearest corner which just so happened to be the one Ed had claimed, coming up on the other man from behind. With a tug of the ropes, he jumped himself up onto the apron, leaning his weight up against the ring post. He reached out, trying to clap a hand on top of Ed's hair to give it a playful shake, mussing it all up.
“Don't sleep on the job my dude, you've got a match” with that he slipped through the ropes, ducking under the outstretched legs of Ed as he made his way to the center of the ring. He brought his hands up, throwing back the white hood he wore on his sleeveless open front too, raking her fingers through his hair to work out the strands that had been pressed down from the oppressive attire.
He made his way around the ring, nonchalantly stretching, a small bounce in his step. Once he felt fully warmed up, he turned back towards Ed, shooting his opponent a bright smile. “Smell that?” He asked cheerfully, gesturing a circular motion with his hand towards his nose, taking in a deep inhale which puffed out his chest in a fine display of his physique.
“I love that smell, the salt, the sea, the sun, the sand… all of those assorted “S” words.” His hand slipped through his hair, resting on the back of his neck. “I'm thinking about adding another. How about “the slay”? 'Cause I'm going to take you down. Hm... think that's too cheesy? Bummer. Any suggestions bro?”

Re: Ed Sealgaire vs Dash Turner: Bash At The Beach
Ed had been relaxing on the ropes, looking at the water, wondering what was taking his opponent- "AHH!"
Said opponent, Dash, had come in his own way, scariner g the living daylights out of the rookie fighter in the process, making him jump and forcing him to humorously adjust himself, grabbing at the ropes to avoid falling right off the corner and into the sand, bare feet hitting the mat, the shorter fighter frowning and fixing his hair, finally getting a look at his opponent as the other man waxing lyrical about the beach and the ocean.
"Yeah, I got an S word for ya-" he started to say...until getting a good view of Dash in the sunlight, his jaw dropping a little as he gazed at the other blond.
That chest, those abs, that lean body, the handsome face...Dash was a stud!
"Ss..se..xy..." he stammered, turning a little red in the process, suddenly feeling a little underdressed in his speedos against the man in swim trunks.
Shaking his head, he put his hands on his hips. "Er uh, I meant to be saying, me names Edward, lets be having a fun match eh? See who gets to be king of the beach?"
He asked with a friendly tone, sticking his hand out towards Dash for a shake.

Re: Ed Sealgaire vs Dash Turner: Bash At The Beach
"Sexy huh? Sure, I'll take that one too." Dash arched a brow, that clean crisp smile hadn't left his face even once since he put it on. He lightly clapped one of his shoulder's, than the other before rolling his arms a bit, working out his muscles. He took this moment to really get a good look at Ed once he was down off the turnbuckles, already looking a bit sunburned from that extra color in his cheeks. There was definitely a size difference between the two of them, that was for sure. He had learned never to really judge someone by the first glance, not only was it rude, but he had faced some fiery competitors in his time that looked like he should have been able to snap then in half.
"Dig the look, it's confident, ya'know, just layin' it all out there like that. That chafe at all?" Dash lackadaisically walked his way to the center of the ring. He stopped, eyeing the hand offered to him before giving a laugh. "Whoa there my dude, this isn't business school. Put that junk away. Here..." The beach bum would bring a hand down and under Edward's hand, not to shake, but instead coax the other man's fingers closed into a fist. Once that was done, he drew back his own and gave the newly formed fist a bump. That was how he did the whole greeting thing. "Better, right?"
"I don't know about the whole king thing, but I'm pretty sure I got this. It's alright though, I'm a benevolent sort of guy, so you can share some of the waves after I bury you in the sand." He gave Edward a small wink before hopping back with a few bouncing steps. He wagged a finger across the empty space between them before lowering his center of gravity a bit, readying himself for the bell. When the referee finally called for it, he smirked, taking a feigned lunge forward at Ed, just to see if he could get the guy to flinch without actually making a move on him.

Re: Ed Sealgaire vs Dash Turner: Bash At The Beach
Huh, that was a first time he had ever been walked through doing a fist bump. Interesting. It was also interesting to note that Dash was nearly half a foot taller than him, and likely held a weight advantage as a result, though it didn't show well with his slender frame...a frame Ed should really stop staring at.
"Pretty cocky that yer gone be the one winning this, aren't ye? Well, don't go counting me out just cause yer a big yin and all that, I don't need to be tall to take you down!" the scottish teen boasted, getting his arms up as the bell rang to signal the start of the match, Ed starting to move in...and promptly diving to the side, rolling his skimpy clothed body onto his feet after seeing Dash leap at him...
...only for Dash to not actually leap at him, Edward quickly realizing the mistake he made, as some in the audience laughed at him. "...well...that's embarrassing..."

Re: Ed Sealgaire vs Dash Turner: Bash At The Beach
He flashed Edward a knowing smirk as he dove to the side like some righteous action hero. The guy was on his toes, either prepared or paranoid. Dash supposed that wasn't a bad thing since they were about to beat each other up so he couldn't really fault the guy. Still the reaction had gotten a small laugh from him all the same, though it was a lighthearted one.
“Nothing to do with size man. It's about this being my element.” He gestured a sweeping hand to the waves lapping at the far side of the ring behind Edward. Did he derive some sort of supernatural power from the surf or the sun? No. But the sweet setting and knowing there were a plethora of bikini clad Tension babes in the back from earlier in the promotion watching did something to motivate him.
While it wasn't his intention to potentially distract Edward with pointing out the sea, he was going to actually rush him now for real. Leaning forward he charged, arms raised in a fashion that seemed to suggest he was looking to lock up… but at the last minute he twisted, lurching in for a wicked Wipe-Out, his signature style of stiff European uppercut.
If he managed to connect the move, he wouldn't let it lay Edward out, arms reaching out to grab hold of the other man's arm which would keep him on his feet even if he started to fall. Taking a hopping step back, he threw his weight with the movement, attempting to send Edward stumbling towards the far ropes with an Irish whip.

Re: Ed Sealgaire vs Dash Turner: Bash At The Beach
Ed knew he shouldn't. In the back of his subconscious was a voice, just yelling "NO! NO! NO!", telling him that he already knew it was the ocean behind him. It was a beach, of course it was the ocean behind him, what else could it possibly be?
But his eternal curiosity, nourished by years of studying and desiring to learn made it impossible for him to not take at least a quick peek. Of course, it was just the ocean. Bad move. To his credit, he turned back fast, seeing Dash living up to his name and coming straight for him, Ed getting his arms up just in time, prepared to grapple with his taller opponent...
...only to eat an uppercut to the jaw, knocking his head back, making him start to stumble back, only for his momentum to shift, the momentarily stunned Edward now finding himself whipped towards the ropes, coming closer, hitting the ropes, starting to rebound...only to grab the top rope, wrapping his arm around it and halting his momentum, jerking him to a stop as he rubbed his stinging jaw.
"Owww...kind of a cheap shot, but not bad..." he muttered, this time making sure to keep his eyes on Dash as he raised his voice. "Alright Beach Bunny, yer quicker than I gave ye credit for, I'll remember the sting of that one alright. Let's see how you do when I'm looking right at you..."
Letting go of the rope, he got his arms up in a grappling stance, eager to see what his opponent would do.

Re: Ed Sealgaire vs Dash Turner: Bash At The Beach
It hadn't actually been Dash's intention to trick his opponent to turn away, but he wasn't about to put their bout on hold just because Edward wasn't focused. With a few long strides he had managed to close the distance between them, cracking him with a big strike. His muscles flexed with the blow, allowing him to strike a quick power pose before transitioning the other man into an irish whip.
Dash didn't chase, only turned to face the stumbling man, laying in wait like a predatory cat. His arms outstretched, fingers flexing as he prepared to intercept Edward on his return trip with a quick scoop slam… but they stopped short at the ropes. The blond beach bum's smile faded I to a thoughtful smirk, giving a nod. Good ring sense on this one.
He straightened up slightly, hooking his thumbs into the lip of his swim trunks with a knowingly guilty grin that somehow still managed to make the carefree man seem charming despite filling owning up to the fact his rush down attack may have been slightly underhanded. “Ha, yeah. Couldn't pass up a good opportunity, ya'know. Nothing personal, well, besides the whole having to beat you thing.”
He rolled his shoulder back, sinking lower to the ground as he moved to meet Edward in the middle of the ring. No fancy tricks of sudden strikes, just a simple elbow and collar lockup, nice and old school. It didn't hurt to gauge how strong and skilled his opponent was after all. He was careful not to over commit by using all his weight, but he was trying to more or less bully Ed towards a corner with brute force if he wasn't stopped.

Re: Ed Sealgaire vs Dash Turner: Bash At The Beach
There was a time, back in his youth, when getting sucker punched like that would have really trigger his temper, really set him off into a frenzy. Luckily, his time in Japan, the years of training, and his year on the indy scene had done a lot to help him calm down and avoid outbursts. After all, he chose a career centered around being nearly naked, getting laid, and punching people in the face, he couldn't be mad about someone hitting him in a match, especially with such an attractive opponent.
Well...unless he made a short joke. That wouldn't end well.
For now, the speedo-clad teen just shrugged and flashed a smile at Dash. "Aye. No hard feelings. Tis a fine day, great scenery, and...uh...a...very attractive opponent." He blushed a little at that, but quickly moved on. "I've no plans to make any enemies or grudges today, so just keep them uppercuts or anything that isn't soft hands away from this area..." his hand brushed across the front of his speedo, making it obvious what he meant. "...and we'll be fine, Beach Bunny. Anything else just comes standard with the job, ya know? Maybe loser can buy a drink after."
Granted, Ed wasn't actually old enough to drink in Japan, but that just meant he could save his money. Closing in on the middle of the ring, he locked up with his taller opponent, pushing against him...and quickly found himself being pushed back, only managing to stop Dasher a time or too before his feet would drag on the mat again, the shorter and lighter fighter clearly not as strong as his beach bum opponent.
What he was however, was clever. As he neared the turnbuckle...Ed jumped, kicking both feet out towards Dash's leg, trying to make the taller man stumble, counting on the momentum of his pushing against Ed, as well as Ed falling to the mat, to drive Dash downward, possibly smacking his chest or face against one of the turnbuckle pads!

Re: Ed Sealgaire vs Dash Turner: Bash At The Beach
Any wrestler worth their salt had a firm elbow and collar lockup, Dash was no different. Practiced in the small nuiances of control, he toyed with the limits of what he could get away with in terms of manipulating their grip on one another while he pushed. While both men we're rookies to Tension, it was clear to him that Edward had put in time outside of the Japanese brand before facing him today. That was good, it made this more interesting.
"No can do buddy, see, I have a date with the surf after we're done here. More than welcome to join though, was going to ask around in in the back to see who wanted to go with anyhow." With corner in sight, it was almost time to really lay into the Scottish lad. He clutched the man tighter with vice like fingers, shoving hard to start to force him right into the pocket of the ring he wanted him. Maybe too hard, as Edward suddenly dropped backwards, partially taking Dash with him.
Both his shins being kicked out from under him proved that this was no mistake, but a calculated action by his opponent. It had taken him by complete surprise and momentum had taken over from there. He tripped forward over top of Edward, his chest impacting hard on the middle turnbuckle, his chin bouncing off the padded guard. The crowd gave a collective “Oooo!”, cringing at what looked to have been a painful ride.
Dash was left hung up on the ropes, inner elbows resting along the top of the cables his his arms dangled on the other side. His head turned, resting a cheek on top of the turnbuckle as he exhaled softly though tight lips causing them to flap lightly. Fair play, a bit of embarrassment both ways. He would slowly make an effort to rise from the corner if left unaccosted.
