Re: Ed Sealgaire vs Dash Turner: Bash At The Beach
This match was in the bag. Had to be. He'd take the stubborn Beach Bunny down, get the pin, then maybe hang out on the beach and get dinner. Sure, it wouldn't technically be a date...but it would still be nice.
So, ignoring the hard on he was sporting, (and hoping he wouldn't get an earful from a pissed off Dash about it after he won) he charged in, ready to kick the cuties head off his shoulders...man what a weird business he was in.
Things however, took an even weirder turn.
Edward almost literally didn't see it coming. One second he was bouncing off the ropes, then a blonde streak rushed at him and something blunt and hard smashed right into the teens jaw! Letting out a mixed cry of pain and surprise, the combination of the surprise attack and his own momentum meant that he didn't merely fall to the mat.
No, the boys body actually carried forward past Dash, and rotated backwards, completing a full back flip before he crashed onto the mat on his front, skidding across a half foot or so on his front before coming to a stop, body trembling and jerking as he let out a pained groan, brain still trying to figure out just what the hell happened!

Re: Ed Sealgaire vs Dash Turner: Bash At The Beach
Dash had never been a big name when he was in another large federation. He had been suppressed, buried under high value members of their roster and dubbed "enhancement", which was their fancy name for punching bag. Even on the indie scene he hadn't made a mark, though it was more to do with his lack of ambition than anything else. Here, however, he practically looked like a superhero as he collided with Edward.
The blond beach bum was left mid pose after taking Edward's head off in what may have been one of the most brutal European uppercuts he had ever given. His arm muscles burned, crying out in sore strain from the impact. He flexed his fingers, warding off the onset of numbness as he looked back to his fallen foe.
Dash eyed the fallen Edward, slowly turning to make his way over. He shook out his arm, looking out across the cheering crowd that we're eating up this recent clash. He had to admit it felt good. This sort of reception was new to him and not at all something he disliked. Puffing his chest out a bit, she took each stride to his fallen foe with a confident smirk, hiding his fatigue best he could to look strong.
Dash stepped over Edward, standing over the Celtic warrior who paid between his legs. Lowering himself down, he slipped his arms underneath the other man's, hooking them up and around to apply a full Nelson. Interlocking his fingers he puked down, forcing Edward's head forward as he pulled him up off the ring, making sure he had no means of escape with nothing more than his knees on the mat.
The beach bum squared down, forcing his backside into the small of the other man's back, bending him back into his agonizing finisher, the Undertow. He hadn't gotten the chance to use this much at all in the past, given his old record. Those trapped inside of it could attest that even if he hadn't used this much, it didn't at all dull the effectiveness of the move, easily on part with something applied by a submission specialist.

Re: Ed Sealgaire vs Dash Turner: Bash At The Beach
Ed hurt. His jaw hurt. His chest hurt, his pride hurt, his teeth hurt, his...everything hurt. He had been just a second, so close, to victory...only for it to be snatched away entirely by...something. He wasn't entirely certain to be honest. All he got was a blonde blur before finding himself here on the mat, friction burn on his chest to go along with the bruises, and a sore and stinging jaw, looking every bit the defeated villain as Dash, (though Ed couldn't see him) did the superhero.
Groaning, blinking his emerald eyes open, Ed felt Dash's arms slip under his, for a second thinking maybe the beach bunny was helping him off the mat perhaps, as a friendly gesture, his head still muddled. His mind cleared up VERY quick though, as the full nelson hold was fully applied, the sharp pain getting a cry out of the young scotsman, pressure pounding on his neck. To make things worse, as he was positioned on his knees, he felt a weight, no doubt Dash, on his back, and then felt his spine jerked back, his back bent upwards, while his neck and shoulders were bent and squeezed.
It was, in a word, the most painful submission hold Edward had ever been put in, in AFW or the indy scene, and anyone doubting the effectiveness of the hold only had to see his wide eyes, the flailing of his arms, and the loud screams that came from the teen. "AAAAGH! It-It hurts! Let go! Get off me!!"

Re: Ed Sealgaire vs Dash Turner: Bash At The Beach
"Sure thing my dude, just as soon as you tap I can let you go. It's just going to get worse otherwise." Dash's arms flexed, tightening up the full nelson. He had it cinched in picture perfect, depriving his opponent of any real way to break for the ropes or fight back. Slowly he reclined, stressing the other man's spine to its limit by using his weight and leverage.
He gave his head a small toss, flinging wet blond hair from his face for the swooning masses. He had a smile for the crowd, with very little else he could do to make things worse for Edward it was all just a waiting game now. As far as he knew, there was no escape from his finisher outside of powering out… and even a fresh faces Edward wouldn't have been able to do that, he was almost entirely sure.
"Not looking to end your career or nothin' bud. Just a match on a nice day, don't go killing your body over it, especially if you still wanna surf after." He seemed rather genuine, imparting his casual wisdom from a position of irrefutable power. If the roles had been reversed though, he likely would have also tapped. No one match had ever been worth his health this far in his career. Better to take the loss and move on really.

Re: Ed Sealgaire vs Dash Turner: Bash At The Beach
Edward had been through some painful shit so far in this match, from multiple uppercuts, to a couple painful stomps, to being put to sleep and choked unconscious, but this hold was by far the most painful thing he had ever experienced in his entire young career.
He struggled as best he could, trying to turn his head, his forearms flailing the best they could, but it was hopeless. He couldn't buck the heavier Dash off, and when he tightened up the hold, Ed screamed louder, feeling his shoulders stretching to their limit, the incredible pressure on his neck making his eyes bulge. Much like his own attempt to get Dash to give in earlier, Dash's words were gentle, friendly, but the blonde didn't want to accept them, biting his lip.
He tried, he honestly tried to hold out as much as he could, not wanting to submit in his second official match but the pressure wracking his neck, the feeling like his arms were about to leave their sockets, the incredible strain in his back...it was too much, all too much, all at once. He couldn't last.
With few loud whimpers, he waved his hands, trying to tap against the air, the bikini clad referee kneeling down in front of him to hear him clearly, the boy letting out one more pained cry before finally speaking. "I-I, I can't take anymore, G...give...I give...I submit, please let go..."
He said aloud, the referee nodding and signaling for the bell, Dash's newfound fanbase in the crowd roaring and applauding in approval as the bell rang, Edward officially submitting in defeat!
When he was released from the hold, Edward crumpled to the mat, panting heavily, sweat covering his limp body, head hanging low, feeling a mix of pain, relief, and disappointment as he rested and breathed.
"...damnit..."

Re: Ed Sealgaire vs Dash Turner: Bash At The Beach
There wasn't anything more he could do to make the hold worse really not did it really seem necessary. Any struggle Edward had seemed to be fruitless, making no headway at all to escape. On some level he was pretty proud in himself and his hold… it was going to serve him well along the line to be certain. Still, he wished the other guy realized how pointless it was to resist at this point to spare himself some injury if nothing else.
He saw the flailing hands and heard the reluctant surrender but waited until it was official before setting Edward free. Once the bell rang, he loosened his grip and eased the other blond down to the mat. He rose to his feet, stepping off of Edward to give a brief wave to the crowd, beaming with one of those perfect smiles to the adoration of those looking on. Once he had given them all a bit of fan service, he lowered himself back down to crouch beside Edward.
He raised his arm before bringing it down to clap the other guy on the shoulder firmly, giving him a shake. His free hand was offered out to help his fellow wrestler rise it he wanted it. He could understand why someone in Edward's position might not want to take it. Pride was one hell of a thing, and losing a hard fought match could leave you in a dark place.
"Too nice out here today to be upset. Thanks for the good match." Dash had a charming twinkle in his eye, the sort that came effortlessly. While he may not have been the best that Tension had to offer, he had the charisma to go far.

Re: Ed Sealgaire vs Dash Turner: Bash At The Beach
The sound of the bell ringing and Dash's music playing through the speakers cemented what Edward already knew...he had lost.
Granted, he couldn't be all that mad over it. It was a fun match, he had given his all, and he liked Dash. But still, to put that much effort in, be that close, and still be outmatched, and forced to submit in a painful hold he couldn't do anything about, on just his second match...it was a bit demoralizing for the little guy, and so he hung his head, his breathing slowing to a normal level as his adrenaline came down, now feeling every bruise and ache in his body, and the burning in his shoulders and neck.
He stayed like that for a few moments, before a hand clasping on his shoulder got his attention, the young man looking up, dull golden eyes meeting Dash's own, seeing the twinkle in the older mans eyes, the smile on his face, the positive words...and felt his heart skip a beat.
While still feeling a little disappointed in his loss, Edward smiled back, eyes gaining back their luster, and he reached out, accepting Dash's hand and his help in getting back to his bare feet, legs a little shaky.
"Thank you for the match man. That was the most fun I've ever had in the ring. You got me good with that last move, but don't expect it twice. You maybe be King of the Beach for now, but I'll be sure to get a rematch for your crown. Speedo's over shorts, ya know?"
Ed bantered playfully, regaining his positive spirit and watching as the referee girl came over and did the traditional raising of Dash's arm in victory for the crowd to cheer and applaud him, the bikini clad Claire, who had pulled him back earlier, even undoing her top and flashing Dash, much to her friends embarrassment. Edward even played along, exclaiming:
"All hail King Beach Bunny!"
He said with a smile, offering a playful bow...and wincing as the action made his muscles ache. He stayed quiet for a second, rubbing the back of his blonde wet head awkwardly, before speaking again.
"Hey uh...this might sound dumb but uh, I don't know many people here yet...You're a pretty cool dude...you wanna...I dunno...hang out, get dinner, be buds?" he asked awkwardly, blushing a little, raising his fist out for a respectful fist bump between the two. He figured he might as well ask. He liked Dash. Liked his style, his attitude, those abs. Seemed wrong to go away without trying to make a friend, since they seemed on good terms.
"...Also, could you maybe autograph my speedo?" he would throw in, his blush even brighter at the embarrassing and unplanned request.

Re: Ed Sealgaire vs Dash Turner: Bash At The Beach
"Don't worry, I can do plenty more that you didn't see today. Didn't want to use it all, otherwise what else is there going to be to see?" When Edward went to take his hand, Dash reached past to grip the other man's forearm. With a soft grunt he helped to hoist the other blond to his feet, making sure to keep him steady before letting go.
When the official took his hand, he gave hers a small squeeze in return causing momentary pause in her raising of his arm. When she glanced over, he shot her a small wink and a boyish grin that had her blushing ever so faintly. He wondered faintly if it was a conflict of interest or bad form to ask the officials out. It wasn't his fault Tension hired beautiful women as not only talent but staff too.
He quirked a brow at the king of the beach title he was being given. Everyone seemed to really being buying into it, including a very excited Claire… who Dash was starting to think she may also be drunk. Who was he to judge. He reached out to give her a thumbs up for her impressive display and show of confidence.
"I'll pass on the whole king thing. Sounds like a whole lot of work. I don't mind staying low key, ya'know. Besides, being totality comes with obligations and stuff. Sorta a free spirit man, I go where the wind and waves takes me." Dash ran a hand to his wet hair, slicking it back.
"That surf lessons is still yours if you want it, though I am pretty sure it's going to be a group one." He nodded towards the crowd to Claire and her other friend, making sure they caught his eye. With his free hand he gestured with thumb and pinky that he would call them, mouthing the words as well. No reason not to include a few ladies for the afternoon's activities after all.
"Autograph? Not sure my signature is worth much of anything, but sure. You got a spare for me to sign or was it this one?" His bright blue eyes glanced sidelong at Edward, wagging a finger at the other boys current speedo. "Not sure how well marker is going to write on a soggy speedo my dude."

Ed smiled, getting his fist bumped by his new buddy, before blushing again. "Uh yeah, I've got a dry speedo in my stuff...plus probably best you don't sign while I'm wearing it and all...but yeah, surf lesson, please!"
He replied, enjoying the cheers from the crowd at the sign of respect between the two fighters before they left the ring to grab some waves. It was a good feeling. Sure, he had lost, his body hurt...but he had made a new friend, gained some respect, had a fun match...all in all, it was a good day.
Hail to the Beach King indeed.
