Re: Ed Sealgaire vs Dash Turner: Bash At The Beach
Oh good, that worked. For a brief moment, Ed had been worried that his attempted takedown would end with Dash landing on top of him and squashing him onto the mat...which might not be that bad, now that he though of-gah, quit it!
The blonde shook his head rapidly, banishing such pervy thoughts. That would be Ryo's influence, no doubt. Had to keep that in check. Attire and scenery aside, this was a serious match, and a chance for Ed to impress.
The Gaelic fighter rolled away and got to his feet, taking advantage of the time Dash stayed down to get partway across the ring, watching for Dash to start rising.
The second the older blonde was on his feet, his ponytailed counterpart would run towards the corner, closing half of the distance between them before leaping the other half, trying to land a body splash on Dash, not caring if he hit his back or front, just that he hit!

The rise had been rather slow, taking the time to access the damage. He shifted his jaw, running his tongue along the backs of his teeth to make sure each pearly whites tooth sat where it was suppose to. He wasn't much interested in the prospect of having to be rushed to the dentist to have his smile patched back together.
He didn't look towards Edward right away. Didn't think to in the moment. The crowd however clued him in that he should have been. Their voices raised in a bubbling cheer, the sort that tended to mean… he turned to the right, not spotting Edward but could been th ring rumble from his approach. Whipping to the left he found his for alright, mid flight towards him. It was too late to strike, he had to take it.
His body laxed, arms set to his side as he tried to make his form as non resistant as possible to hopefully lessen the impact. Edward came crashing into him full force, slamming him back into the turnbuckles hard enough the wires connecting the posts cried out in strain. There wasn't very many graceful ways to take a bump from a splash, especially when his opponent didn't have the benefit of natural cushions on his chest.

Re: Ed Sealgaire vs Dash Turner: Bash At The Beach
Success! The body splash was a risky move, but it paid off this time, smacking his chest against Dash's and knocking him back against the turnbuckle pads. He leaned into the leap, letting most of the momentum knock into Dash rather than cause him to just bounce off, before falling back onto his feet, one hand on his hip, a cocky smirk on his face...which wasn't at all tinged slightly red.
"Yer not the only fast one here!" He exclaimed, grabbing Dash by the wrist, trying to copy him from earlier and whip him towards the opposite turnbuckle, leaning against his own and counting to 3 before charging after him and leaping again, trying to hit him with a second stinger splash!

Re: Ed Sealgaire vs Dash Turner: Bash At The Beach
Dash leaned back against the corner, starting to slump slightly. Her arm came up as his wrists was grabbed hold of, being yanked forward into a stumble. Whipped towards the far corner, he found his footing and managed to regain control along the way.
As he neared the ropes he threw out his hands, grasping the top rope. He kicked his feet up off the ground, his entire body lifting up as he lingered in limbo in almost a full handstand before he threw himself back. He wasn't sure if Edward had followed, but doing this was an effort to jump himself back behind the man in a reverse leapfrog maneuver.
Dash dropped himself down behind the rushing Edward, narrowly avoiding the second corner splash. Springing on the ball of his feet, he moved in behind the other man, trying to push his body up against the Scottish wrestler to pin him into the corner, arms reaching around to attempt to hug themselves around him and link fingers over his midsection.
If he managed to grab hold, he would plant his feet and throw his weight back, attempting to rip Edward from the corner to slam him down into the canvas with a german suplex. If all went according to plan, he would arch his body up to bridge the move into an early pin attempt.

Re: Ed Sealgaire vs Dash Turner: Bash At The Beach
Ed had timed it perfectly, he was sure of it, Dash would hit, maybe turn to take the impact on his back instead of his chest, and then Ed would connect with his splash, leaving the beach bum to a 450 or some other big move to put him away early.
Good plan...except Dash had to ruin it by being talented. Ed was already charging full steam ahead, mid leap, when the others body passed over him. The next few seconds were a blur. A pain in his chest, from hitting the turnbuckle, then a tug at his waist, his bare feet leaving the mat, and then he was back on the mat, the back of his head throbbing from a hard impact.
"One!"
At first, he didnt even register the count, just noticing his legs above his head when he heard the black and white bikini clad referee girl slal the mat a second time with a cry of -
"Two!"
- which jolted his senses, the teen kicking his legs out, bucking his hips, and breaking the pin, his body landing on his front while he gripped and rubbed the back of his head. "Owwwww...."

Re: Ed Sealgaire vs Dash Turner: Bash At The Beach
Dash never really got tired of that sudden rush of air screaming by, the rapid change in equilibrium that came with whipping back suddenly for a suplex. The impact had been hard, enough to shake the ring and send a ripple up through his feet. He did all he could to maintain balance, clenched hands cinching into Edward's abdomen as he pushed his back up and out to bridge into the pin.
Did he expect to win with the move? Not really, but there always was an off chance he could have knocked the other man silly. No, it was more about working the other man down. Getting hit with a move and having to kick out was two ways to blow through his stamina. Two birds, one stone.
His hold broke loose when Edward bucked hard, earning a solid two count. Nice. While the Scottish wrestler flopped to the side, Dash simply eased onto his back, tucking his knees in. His body rolled briefly up onto his shoulders before he pushed his hand over his head, performing a kip up back to his feet. His hood casually flipped back over his head, resting atop his shaggy strawberry blond mane.
He had to catch himself when he got to his feet, almost hitting the turnbuckle again. Hands on the ropes, his close call became an idea, posture straightening out as if a lightbulb had lit over his head. With a small hop he jumped onto the middle ropes, bouncing a few times, finding his balance.
Looking back, he found his mark and jumped off the corner, arm shooting out. He came down hard and heavy, attempting to crack Edward right in the middle of his back with an elbow drop. He made sure to apply his weight, landing pretty much on top of the other man rather than to his side. If the blow landed, he would immediately try to take advantage and hook his arm around Edward's head to latch in a simple headlock.

Re: Ed Sealgaire vs Dash Turner: Bash At The Beach
Ok...so apparently Dash was more agile than Ed had expected, being able to jump over him and all with such limited time to react...though in truth, jumping over Ed was hardly a difficult thing to do really. Still though, he had the speed advantage, he really had to use it if he was going to-"GAH!"
His inner thoughts were disturbed, as while he had been holding his neck and soothing the back of his head, Dash had been mid flight, his elbow, and really, most of his chest, striking the center of Ed's back, causing his limbs to spasm and flail, his body bouncing slightly before settling on his front. He'd have rolled away, as natural instinct told him to do, except a pair of strong arms wrapped around his neck, trapping the blonde teen on his front, his bare legs kicking in protest. "Grr...l-leggo of me!"

Re: Ed Sealgaire vs Dash Turner: Bash At The Beach
“Sure, just as soon as you tap I'll do that.” Dash flexed her arm around Edward's head, giving it a solid squeeze while forcefully working it to the side with a twist. Most of his weight still rested across the other man's back, working to keep him pressed to the canvas to allow for more control over the simple rest hold. He did his best to make it a draining experience though, leaning back to wrench at the other wrestler's neck as well.
Working Edward's back and neck we're his game plan today. The man was light enough he could, given opportunity continue to heft him up and drop him down on his head with relative ease. If and when he finally moved to lock in the Undertow lock, it was sure to have a remarkable effect on his weakened foe. For now though, baby steps.
“You'd be a pioneer or something if you gave up at a headlock. Pretty rare thing these days.” Dash gave another hard yank, shifting his weight a bit further down Edward's back so he could bend the man further. “I can't even think of anyone quits after this sorta thing. Sorta makes you wonder why so many people use it if it doesn't win matches.” He hummed softly in contemplation. Deep wrestling thoughts mid match. Despite his wistful thinking out loud, he hadn't lost any pressure on the hold at all though.

Re: Ed Sealgaire vs Dash Turner: Bash At The Beach
"Rrrghh...I'm not..giving up...to a headlock!"
Ed replied, getting frustrated as he kicked and bucked and flopped around, Dash's heavier weight doing a good job in keeping him mostly pinned down. While it was true that the headlock wasn't really a devastating move that would lead to him being submitted or knocked out, it was still painful and annoying, and a good way to wear him down early.
"Kinda heavy for...a beach bunny..." Unable to get his feet or knees under him, Ed pawed at the mat, trying his best to shift and nudge his body closer to the ropes, hoping that, if he could get close enough, he could stretch his arm or leg out to try and force a rope break.

Re: Ed Sealgaire vs Dash Turner: Bash At The Beach
“That's not a problem for you, is it?” Dash let out a laugh, momentarily pressing his feet to the canvas to flop his weight up before dropping it back down on Edward's back, all while maintaining the headlock. “It's weight in the right places, least I think so. I don't hear many complaints.” He hummed thoughtfully, giving the other man's head another hard crank while lost in thought.
The beach bum wasn't pushing the hold too much past milking it for all he could while using the least amount of effort he could on his end. Edward's crawling and flopping would eventually work the two of them to the ropes. As the referee called for a break, Dash did so immediately. Releasing the hold he rolled himself over Edward's back before hopping to his feet.
Shifting his weight between one foot then the other he backed away with spring in his step, coming away from the hold nice and refreshed. He didn't go on the attack right away, instead stopping to adjust his hooded vest and pay some of the cheering fans some service with a wave and a wink. Even with his attention split however, he tried to keep Ed in the corner of his vision for when the other man got to his feet again.
