The Wolf vs. The Amazon

Alaina felt a measure of vindication and payback as she heard the impact, and even felt it on the way down. Manami was now the one laying on the ground in pain and Alaina knew that if the amazon was to triumph over the wolf she would have to keep going no matter how much her body was screaming at her for rest.

Alaina used the bench to great effect before, there was no harm in doing it again was there? Alaina lumbered over to the downed wolf and pulled her up by the hair to her feet. Alaina bent her knees to go low, putting a hand on Manami's shoulder as well as her hip. Alaina lift Manami up and stood straight, holding Manami overhead with her arms outstretched! She wasn't sure who close Manami was to the ceiling in here, but it must have been pretty close. Alaina held her up for a moment and then tossed her up, trying to gorilla press drop her from that height to an abdomen first crash landing right down across the bench again!

Alaina was beginning to love that bench, but if this connected she would begin to try to think of new venues to go, a more proper place to try to finish off the wolf.

There were ways to recover from this, surely. Aliana was playing up a big game, but there was a limit to her stamina just as there was in every person. Between the headlock, the barrage of fists, and that monstrous show of athleticism that was the running bulldog, Manami’s chance at a counter would only become greater and greater as the seconds passed her by.

Now wasn’t that time, however. Now was the time for the Amazon to get her most well-earned licks in on the wolf. She felt a rough hand latch onto her hair - which was very quickly becoming a rather serious pet peeve of hers - before she was pulled up and onto her two feet. She assumed some kind of flip or hold was coming her way, but the Wolf Girl merely watched with wide eyes as she was lifted up and over her adversary’s head. This didn’t bode well for her.

“Put me down, you-!”

She stopped herself mid-sentence. Of course she had to say that. The mind always had to be one step ahead of the body, didn’t it?

Aliana put her down. By jove, did she put her down, right across the torso and onto the bench. The rather rough piece of material had actually chipped once Manami’s solid body collided with it, clearly never meant to withstand that level of pressure. All the same, the Amazon’s goal was reached. Manami slid off and onto the ground, rolling side to side as she held onto her gut, reclaiming every ounce of air that had been expelled from her lungs with each painful moment.

Alaina watched as Manami landed. She saw her crumple and knew that look. Gasping, cringing, writhing. Manami was in pain. Alaina opted to change things up. She grabbed hold of Manami's leg and tanked her away from the bench, rolling her onto her back.

Alaina then covered her, laying across her chest and hooking a leg. "Count it ref!" Alaina said, sounding tired herself as she slapped the ground to emphasize the point for the referee to begin a count.

"ONE!"

Alaina held her breath. She knew Manami was strong, tough and cunning. However the amazon hit the wolf with everything she had and it had to work.... right?

All she could do now was hope.

How quickly the tables turn.

It hadn’t been long before that little temper tantrum Aliana threw that the Wolf Girl had been giggling to herself to seemingly no end. The woman had walked into blunder after blunder with nary a breath for air in between.

Now things had taken a most unpleasant change of direction. Manami had just managed to regain some semblance of response from her gut again when the Amazon sought to seize her advantage. It wasn’t until after the first count that she realized exactly what was happening. The moment she did, however, she put an end to it. As if things were going to end like this.

Manami kicked out. Surprisingly with less effort than she believed she would need. The match was taking the toll on the both of them, but it seemed even Aliana’s resilience had limits. Not that the wolf was in any position to boast. She was still on the ground, with one a resounding pain in her stomach.

Though she sought to fix that as soon as possible. Bringing her leg back, she’d shoot her foot straight towards Aliana’s face, looking to bury her heel into the bridge of her nose.

Alaina was in shock as Manami kicked out, and kicked out quickly!  She looked up at the referee as if he was counting slowly.  She really knew better deep down.  Still, Manami was proving to be a far nastier more resilient foe that Alaina had anticipated.  As if to accentuate that point, Manami hammered Alaina in the nose with a sharp kick sending her rolling off Manami as her hands covered her face!  Alaina was in a slight daze, knowing that her face was sorely messed up.  She got up to her wobbly feet, full of anger that Manami seemingly wouldn't stay down for anything.

Alaina rumbled over and tried to reach out to grab Manami.  She wanted to grab her by the head and walk her over to the nearby door, attempting to throw Manami so hard against the door that she forced the push bar open, and tumbled into the hallway outside!  It would help provide some measure of vindication after that kick had nearly broken Alaina's nose!

Damn. Didn’t break it. Manami could tell the difference between broken cartilage and a hit that landed too shallow. A shame, but at the very least, it got the Amazon away from her, affording her a second of breathing room.

And only a second.

The next thing she felt was Aliana’s rough pair of hands grip on her hair once more. A brisk walk over to the door saw her being thrown straight at it, sending her tumbling out into the hallway. She stumbled and fell onto her back before managing to recover, rolling backward with the momentum and stopping in a crouched position. As she made her way up to two feet, as tremulous as her ascent was, she made out Aliana’s form through the open door.

“I recall your moves retaining more force. Slowing down, are you?” She trailed her gaze up towards Aliana’s eyes. “You have the prowess of an ape.”

Alaina stalked after Manami as she entered the hallway leading to the arena parking garage. "At least I haven't had to rely on sneaking up on someone. I can destroy you in a straight up fight. We both know it, and if you think I am tired you are horribly mistaken." Alaina growled at Manami. Alaina quickly moved forward as she tried to use her power to create as close to an explosive speed burst as possible, trying to fly at Manami and extend her arm. Alaina knew how hard a running lariat from her could nail someone. It seemed like the perfect way to shut Manami's mouth and dissent any claim she had of Alaina slowing down.

If only Manami knew that as strong as Alaina was, she was just as much for endurance and long lasting fights. Just ask Jessica Wright from their last woman standing match when Alaina gave her a shot at the Entropy title when she had it. Still, Alaina wanted to be confident, not cocky. Underestimating Manami would be a deadly mistake. She could slap on a hold, brawl or use her own considerable power to slam Alaina, which was no easy task for a woman 27lbs lighter than Alaina!

“Tsk.”

At the very least, Aliana’s tenacity seemed unharmed. As insufferable as it may have been, it was part of her charm. If her words rang true, and Manami had very little reason to doubt them, then playing the long game was a fool’s errand. If she was going to break this woman down, the wolf was going to have to start playing more aggressively. Use Aliana’s sluggish movements against her.

Thankfully, Aliana happily offered her arm up in such an ill-conceived move.

“Let's test that theory, shall we?”

Manami ducked under the lariat, reaching up and grabbing the woman’s arm as she went before throwing a kick into the back of Aliana’s knee.  She’d then leap up and hook her leg around the Amazon’s neck, forcing her down onto her back before finally fixing a triangle choke around her neck, still keeping the arm close and working in a kimura lock with it with the Wolf Girl lying comfortably on her back.

“You have until the count of five before I break it.”

Alaina's plans backfired as she swung and missed, Manami chattering her and taking her to the floor, her arm and shoulder exploding in agony! Alaina screamed out in pain as Manami placed her in another deadly hold. Alaina tried to rtwist and turn he legs to get them somewhat underneath her, rolling into the hold the way she did an armbar to try to relieve some of the pressure and take away some of the strength of the hold.

From there Alaina tried to use her free arm to send punches up into Manami's face. She knew the strikes alone may not free her though. She just wanted to send at least one punch into Manami's jaw to try to stun her or allow a sliver of doubt to enter her mind. From there Alaina would try to use her free arm to place it underneath Manami, using her legs and back to try to position herself to try an impressive (but painful) escape: Attempting to rise to her feet and hold Manami up with her free arm to alleviate some pressure and use her legs to rush forward, crashing Manami into a wall!

Such an escape looked impressive but was truly desperate. The amount of pain coursing through Alaina's body was intense to say the least. If Alaina did not escape in this way or another fashion she was sure Manami would do all she could to purposefully injure Alaina.

One, two, skip a few, five.

Manami cranked the arm for all it was worth, starting to feel a bit of grating beneath the skin as the Amazon’s impressive muscles flared beneath the skin. For it was worth to her, this woman seemed to possess a remarkable amount of endurance. The kimura lock was a troublesome hold on its own, but attempting to resist it while lifting well-over a hundred pounds of malice along with it? Truly a feat, worthy of recognition to the easily swayed.

For the Wolf Girl, all she was willing to give was a groan of frustration. Aliana’s strength was only matched by her stubbornness, something she founded herself being reminded of again and again as this farce went on.

As the Amazon charged the wall, Manami released the kimura lock and let her upper body fall towards the floor. Pronouncing her abdominals, she’d aim to use the woman’s momentum against her, keeping the triangle choke tight as she attempted to throw her adversary towards the wall with a swing of her legs. The moment she did, she’d release the lock and rise to her feet, hurrying towards the nearby double doors that led to the parking garage, waiting for the Amazon in the center of the long arrangement of automobiles.
