AV 16 Hardcore Title cage match: Adrian Kytes (c) vs. Silver Ace

It took her several moments to shake off the surprise daze that came from the sudden smash into the cage, but Ace finally pulled her face away, her blood sliding down the mesh.

Upon looking behind her however, she saw Adrian laying on the mat, flipping off her Canadian brethren. Getting an idea, the challenger smirked, and grabbed the cage, fitting her feet through the holes, and starting to climb her way up the cage, slowly, step by step, the crowd's noise turning from booing Adrian to cheering their pink and black clad sister, as she started to climb, clearly planning some high flying daredevil stunt!

The crowds jeers changed to cheers but Adrian's gesture hadn't changed. What was going on? Had the Stone Cold apreciation society taken over? Had someone brought a beachball? Was there a hockey stick fight in the crowd? No, Ace was trying to make a break for it. In a cage match! That defeated the point of cage matches keeping people trapped together! And a legitimate strategy to win a Cage Match. On reflection, cage matches could be pretty dumb. "Crapbaskets!" Adrian coughed out as she rolled onto all fours and scampered after Ace, eventually getting back to her feet by the time she met the cage. In reach to try and grasp Ace by the ankle and slow her down somewhat.

Funny enough, somebody HAD brought a beach ball, and, much like it had all night, it was being bounced around by rowdier fans, to their delight, as well as to the irritation of the fans focusing on the match at hand.

Ace however, could not see or enjoy said beach ball, as she was busy defying the very laws and logic of a steel cage match, climbing up the cage, step by step, until her crapbasketing friend/opponent grabbed her ankle with a tight grip, Ace growling and trying to shake her leg free!

"Leggo damnit!"

Adrian's grip was not as secure as she would have liked on Ace's ankle, and the Canadian managed to pull herself free of her grip, leaving her stumbling back away from the ropes and letting the challenger put a few more steps between herself and the champion, the edge of the cage getting closer and closer. Not if the champ had anything to say about it.

As Silver Ace pulled free of the ropes, Adrian started to climb them in a rush, forcing herself to ignore the various aches and pains and just get up the side of the steel. Not to try and beat her to the top, that wasn't going to be happening soon, but to get in range to wrap her arms around the Canadian's waist while she stood on the top rope precariously.

Originally Ace's plan had been to do some spectacular leap off the cage, something that would put Adrian down for the count and no doubt give all of Toronto something to talk about for the next couple weeks or so, but once Adrian was up and grabbing her, the logical part of her brain told her to just try and escape the cage. The match could end via pinfall, submission, or escaping the cage after all, and winning that way would still get her the title.

But once again, Adrian had other plans, her arms wrapping around Ace's waist and preventing her from getting any higher!

"I said let go!"

She yelled, releasing one arm from the cage to try and swat back at Adrian!

"WHOA!" Adrian let out as Ace sent an arm backwards, this time however she was ready for something like that, moving her head to the side to avoid taking another sharp shot to the teeth even if it did make her unbalanced on the top rope, and with Ace's attention divided between swatting Adrian down and clinging on to the cage, the challenger's position wasn't exactly firm anymore.

Pulling back as hard as she could, Adrian attempted to pull off something she'd looked for earlier, just in a much more desperate and dangerous situation: A release german suplex off the top rope with Ace getting yanked off the cage.

She was in the air.

Why was she in the air?

With only one hand on the cage, Ace had no way of keeping her grip, and couldn't stop Adrian from pulling her off the cage. It was simple logic really. If she had just used her legs instead of her arms, she could have kicked Adrian off and clung on and kept climbing.

Of course, none of that was going through Ace's head as she sailed through the air, german suplexed off the cage.

The only thought going through her head, as said head, as well of her shoulders smashed into the mat, flipping backwards and landing on her front, black spots erupting in her vision, was a plain and simple "FUUUUUUCK!"

Ace wasn't alone on the rough landing, spiking on her shoulders as she jacknifed on the canvas, ending up flopping back down face up on the mat with the challenger nearby. "Ugghhhh..." she groaned, trying to re-focus on the lights for the second time in as many minutes. Why did she think pulling Ace down like that was a smart strategy? She was one slip away from falling on her head! Even the landing she did have sucked hard, although for Ace they seemed to suck worse.

Rolling onto her front and slowly crawling over to the fallen Canadian, she did her best to roll Ace over in a timely fashion, which probably took a minute all on it's own but eventually she got her foe on her back and managed to slump an arm across for a pin.

"ONE!"

Despite the crowds loud cheer at the exciting and dangerous move, they weren't thrilled at Ace being down, spending the time trying to chant for the hometown hero to get back up.

Yet the assholes also were happy to count loudly at the pin attempt. Go figure.

No doubt about it, that hurt like hell, Ace laying on her chest, little visions of a bikini clad Valley Doll floating in her eyesight, almost entirely out of it. The one saving grace, perhaps, was that she landed on her front, and in the time it took an equally hurt Adrian to crawl over to her and flip her body over for a pin attempt, she had already begun to clear her head, at least enough to realize what was going on when she heard the first pin count!

"TWO!"

Ace heard the referee yell, the crowd counting along, as her arm went up for a third time, and came down, getting closer and closer to the mat, people watching with baited breath as she started to yell:

"THR-"

Ace's arm suddenly shot up into the air, a nanosecond before the third pin count, just barely getting her shoulder off the mat enough to for the referee to break the count, shaking her head and holding up a "two count" sign, Toronto (and, unknown to Ace, her girlfriend Valley up in the Skybox), to erupt in celebration!

Was that three? Adrian couldn't tell as she was rolled off Silver Ace, back to looking up at the lights. It felt like a three, Hayley got dunked off the cage wall to the floor without a stop inbetween, that usually leads to a three. Plus the crowd was cheering, that usually meant the match was over and she'd won, right? Wait, Canada. They were still salty about everything Adrian had done in the run up to this match, so if they were still cheering: she hadn't won. Yet.

"Ugh..." the champion groaned, picking herself up off the canvas and back on to her feet. So Ace didn't want to stay down after that? So what? Plenty of other ways to end the match as Adrian would show by moving to grab Ace by the legs and wrap them around one of her own, looking to lock in a Sharpshooter but without the energy to taunt about it.
