Lucy Grange vs Belinda Northman - Clash of the blondes!

In Lucy's mind she could have actually snapped back to thinking she had a chance of winning, what with her escape to the ropes and all that. She probably deluded herself a bit anyway with her current state, Lucy didn't even know what to do afterwards from escaping. Still there was that small bit of self satisfaction, like Austin vs Bret with Austin just not quitting. Lucy even had a little smug grin concealed by her long blonde hair, it was probably inwardly a lot of effort on Lucy's part to do just that alone.

She was sure that Belinda was going to keep trying to batter her, knowing what Lucy would do in the same spot. Belinda dragged Ms Grange away from the ropes, not being in the offence was letting Lucy catch her breath. Lucy heard footsteps move away from her. Lucy knew what that meant, trying to set up a high risk offence that the Brit herself also applied. In desperation Lucy would attempt to get some movement going, to try and avoid the impact.

But the darkening shadow loomed closer and closer, Lucy felt like she getting away. But then suddenly........

Lucy heard a loud crash, followed by a sharp pain on her back. Her head smacked the canvas, Lucy didn't think about what happened afterwards....

Belinda leaped off of the top ropes and came crashing down upon her friendly rival's back, that elbow digging right into the woman and then watched that head shoot up before smacking down onto the canvas. Lucy had been a stubborn opponent, and a tough one at that....but Belinda was sure that after the painful submission hold where she had worn down that back...and now dropping her elbow down on the woman's back with her finisher, she was sure that this would be the end of the British girl.

The Swede would roll Lucy over onto her back and lay herself down across Lucy's chest, pinning the woman down as she reached for the fellow blond's right leg to hook it up and go for a pin attempt.

The ref-girl would slide down in beside the two of them, raising her hand up into the air and shouting out " One!..." as she slapped her hand down against the mat.

Lucy was out of it at this point, she wasn't moving much. At all in fact save for some breathing hear and there. After everything Lucy went through she just couldn't carry on the effort, she had been taken to her limit and broke down under the pressure. Ms Grange just didn't have it in her at this point. Lucy had a niggling doubt in the back of the mind, that she couldn't do it. Belinda just seemed to be able to do everything Ms Grange could do, but better.

But she wasn't considering this currently, all Lucy felt was the numbing feeling of her body. Belinda would flip the reeled Brit over and get atop her for a pin attempt. The ref girl had already counted at one, but really at this point it was clear Lucy couldn't suddenly turn things around. She was just too out of it.....

"TWO!"

It didn't seem as if Lucy had much left in the tank, though how could she. She had taken some of the heaviest hits Belinda could hit her with, and she had still managed to not submit to the Swede's signature submission hold. Though now as the two count had already come...and the ref-girl slammed her hand down for the final third time.

" Three!"

The match was over, Belinda panted out as she laid against Lucy, releasing her leg as the Swede would then have her arm raised by the referee as she rose up towards her feet. She shook her head and panted out, her body covered in a fair bit of sweat. The crowd was excited, happy and cheered as the Swede had come out on top.

She turned her attention towards Lucy though, after a short celebration of having her arm raised. She would move down next to Lucy and attempt to offer the fellow blond a hand, to help her up to her feet. " You okay Lucy?"

Lucy wasn't able to do it, she just knew it inwardly with tonight's battle and how it concluded. In this match virtually anything Lucy could do Belinda did better, that was how it felt to Lucy. It just wasn't going anywhere for Ms Grange with her usual style of battle, in Lucy's mind she just wasn't going anywhere effective fast. Lagging behind and falling short against others. Especially compared to.....

Still Lucy admitted defeat, she was beaten fair and square. Belinda hadn't cheated or anything like that to give Lucy reasonable justification for anger. Ms Grange knew it couldn't be fair to be mad at the Swede, Lucy lost to the better wrestler. The Brit acknowledged Belinda's words with a nod as she lay there, her chest slowly moving up and down as all that exertion left Lucy damn near breathless.

"I'm fine Belinda.....I....good match." Lucy muttered out, her gaze shifted over from Belinda to the rafters above. The lights blaring into her vision, she felt hungover. It was just the pain numbing herself but. Ms Grange lifted her head slightly and then rested it back down.

"You battered me good....Belinda...Just gonna lie here for a bit if that's okay." Lucy just wanted to lie down for now, ponder where she went wrong. She already knew what the issue is, just needed to think about how to handle it.......

Belinda looked down at the fellow blond as she offered that hand to help her up, though for the moment it seemed her friend and former sparring partner wanted some time to rest. As such the Swede brought her hand over towards her knee and looked down at Lucy as she started to speak.

" Yeah, good match Lucy...you're hella tough, you know." Belinda said with a genuine smile on her face as she would nod her head. " Sure, take the time you need. Want me to help you to the locker room though?" Belinda let out as she would lean forward a bit, sweat dripped off her chin down onto the mat.

" Can't really stay here forever, but I guess a few minutes is fine."

Lucy was aware of how she lost, it was so clear now. It was cause she tried to play Belinda in her own game, but Belinda was just stronger and better at it than Lucy was. But it was all Ms Grange knew, when someone could prove superior than Lucy in it what then? It was a stark contrast to her fellows in the UK Elite, nagging in the back of her mind. Doing it their way, subconsciously even. Ms Grange wouldn't lie, at times she felt envious of the success of others. It was only human after all.

The Brit simply nodded to Belinda, Lucy wasn't aware of any bouts on the card after this. Lucy wasn't in a mood to care right now, but Ms Grange didn't want to take it out on Ms Northman. She did nothing wrong, Lucy couldn't bring herself to hate most people. Lucy breathed in and out, eyes closed in contemplation.

"Alright, give us a hand Belinda." Lucy muttered to the Swede with half closed eyes, no point in being more sore than she already was in body at least. Lucy had to do a lot of thinking about things, change what she was doing. It just wasn't getting her anywhere, but Lucy put it in the back of her mind for now. She would prefer not to have further pain to deal with at this point.......

Belinda soon helped her friend up towards her feet and would start to help Lucy out of the ring and up the ramp, it had been a good match and Lucy had put up a great fight. Had it been a few months ago...before Belinda worked oh so hard to reach the level she was now, then Lucy would probably have had this match in the bag. At least this way they got a well performed match were each of them got in a good share of offense, even if Belinda had been able to come out on top in the end.

The Swede would walk with her friend, nodding her head as she helped her out to her locker room and the two of them left the arena.
