Lucy Grange vs Belinda Northman - Clash of the blondes!

Rules: Standard Match won via pinfall or submission.

In the back Lucy was preparing for her next match. She had been feeling a tad surreal as of late, namely due to her Brother returning from wherever he was. Turned out he was training in a forest, for the comeback that was going to occur with the UK Elite. Ryan and John had been spending time catching up, designing new outfits and everything. Lucy was just grateful to have her Brother back safe. In fact he encouraged her to get out and get a match, much in the same vein that John did when he was about to be given the all clear to compete again.

Lucy knew her opponent tonight, Belinda. The pair duked it out last year in a gym, so the British girl had a feeling of what to expect from the Swede. Belinda had some power to her despite the similar sort of frame to Lucy, that had to be watched out for. Being the sort of girl that she was Ms Grange was used to having the power advantage lost to her, usually against big guys. Still Belinda being around her height and weight meant that Lucy could bust out some power moves of her own, one of the good things about having the paragon of Britain as your sparring partner meant you knew how to lift at least.

A stage hand told her it was time to start, wordlessly Lucy simply nodded and made her way down the hallway. Already her heart was pounding, as it often did before a fight. Lucy could hear her song blaring from the speakers, Lovefurypassionenegery by Boy Hits Car. As always Lucy waited, for when the lyrics hit.

She's like a lost flower, growing up through a crack. In the bustling sidewalk, moving like a river so sad.

The Brit entered through the curtain, the orange fog up to her ankles. Lucy smirked at the crowd in attendance, she lightly cracked her neck and proceeded to promptly run into the ring. Moving under the bottom rope, and kneeling in the middle of the ring. Before then jumping onto one of the turnbuckles and waving to the fans in attendance, after this she moved to the opposite one where she could get a view of her opponent tonight. To get a better view Lucy perched herself on the turnbuckle with her back on the ropes, she felt she could be casual for the start before the match.

It had been a long time since Belinda had last seen Lucy, it almost felt like a different life to the one she had right now. Her comeback from her rather embarrassing and slightly devastating slump had been a welcomed change of pace and the response and headway with the fans of AFW she had gotten had simply been out of this world. She had a whole new attitude, outlook...move-set, and even a new outfit.

She was far from the same Belinda as before and part of her didn't know if she should be happy or sad about that...it was true people grew as time went on, but it felt a bit surreal to her, as Belinda thought about what kind of changes she had gone through in just a year. Though...she felt as if perhaps it was for the better, she still had pretty much the same personality and mannerisms as before...Mostly what had changed was her as a competitor in AFW.

Spoiler:

After Lucy had made her way down towards the ring, Belinda stepped up to the gorilla position and when Lucy's music had died down, the Swede's music would blast out of the speakers. With hood pulled up over her head Belinda burst out onto the ramp to the cheers of the crowd as she would drop into a runners crouch before sprinting down at top speed towards the ring. She ran as fast as she could and in the run jumped up when she was close enough to the ring, diving into the ring through the middle and bottom ropes and rolled up onto one knee in a smooth motion.

The Swede jumped up onto her feet and ran towards the far off corner before jumping up onto the middle ropes and raise one hand up high. Hood still over her head as she soon jumped down and turned around. She'd look off towards Lucy and smile before she'd start to walk up towards the center of the ring, moving her hand up to pull off her hood and then bring that right hand down and offer Lucy a handshake, wanting to start off this little second meeting of theirs with a friendly handshake and show of sportsmanship.

Belinda might have gone through some changes, but arguably the same could be said for Lucy. Just in another sort of way, when Ryan came back to her that fateful afternoon he looked a far cry from his usual appearance. Smelled funny too, camping in the forest does that to you. After talking for some time Lucy was compelled to get back into the ring, she'd been caretaking for John during his injury as was natural for those you cared for. Even though they constantly ribbed at each other.

Was Ms Grange worried about her upcoming match? A little, Belinda had been pretty good when they sparred. And from what Lucy had heard the Swede was on the up and up, doing a bit of a push as they said in the wrestling biz. Well Lucy could see this as her chance to get back into the spotlight, given that she had spent more time in Kyoto often than not.

Still Lucy smiled as her opponent for this evening made her way to the ring, sporting some nice new attire. Which reminded the Brit that she had some new stuff planned for the new year, she wouldn't be the only doing that either. But that was for another time, Ms Grange got off her lazy position on the corner. Belinda had gone to the centre of the ring and offered a handshake, Lucy was pally with her and knew there'd be no chance of her getting sucker punched.

"Heya Belinda! Love the outfit, let's make this a good match kay? Bring the hype." Lucy said, once the beginning words were said the Brit would leap backwards and into her corner. Bouncing on her feet as an indicator of the fact Lucy was ready to duke it out here tonight, and she couldn't help but feel a twinge of nostalgia too.....

When Lucy walked away from that lazy position she had put herself in the corner and they met in the center of the ring for that friendly handshake the Swede would smile at her fellow blond. " Of course, though be prepared. I've grown a lot since we last faced off. " Belinda said with a smile on her face, just like Lucy did the Swede bounced back and dropped into her wrestling stance, arms ready as she awaited the bell...

The two young blonds were both ready it seemed and Belinda would start to try and circle Lucy, looking to find a weakness in her old sparring partners stance...when the bell finally rang Belinda would quickly try and step in, using a bit of her impressive speed to try and close the distance between herself and Lucy and attempt to lock the two of them up into a collar and elbow tie up.

Should it work then the Swede would quickly try and wrestle for control, not wanting to bring Lucy backwards but instead try and bring her down onto her back and mount the fellow blond.

Lucy thought that Belinda might have grown a bit since the last time they duked it out, but to be honest she still seemed to be the same height as before. Yeah it was probably figurative rather than literal, rack was as it was before. Just because the Brit liked guys didn't mean she'd not give credit for what the Swede had, but now it was go time. The bell had rung as it so often did to signal the beginning of the match, Lucy had already gotten herself mentally calmed. It'd been a long time since Ms Grange felt that rush in her system, that came with duking it out to see who was the best. More so when it was against a friend, this was going to be nothing personal. Lucy put that in the back of her mind, just like she did other times in the past.

If Belinda was hoping to find a weakness in Lucy's stance it was going to be difficult, namely due to the Brit shuffling about from side to side. Keeping a fluid motion was something Lucy tended to do, in most cases Lucy would often rush right out the gate. But perhaps Belinda might expect that, after all the two had a feel for what the other preferred.

Lucy figured she might as well accept the lockup, usually that wouldn't have been taken. But hey, why not? Belinda gave her all with that though, wasting no time in trying to wrangle Lucy into her way. Lucy had somewhat forgotten the strength Belinda could pack, and got taken down hard to the ground. Ms Grange grunted as she hit the mat, but didn't panic. Lucy had been taken down like this in the past. So the Brit promptly made to wrap her legs tightly around the Swede for a bodyscissors, that would make this harder for Belinda than she'd hope.

It seemed as if Lucy hadn't noticed Belinda's growth of a total of half an inch nor the slight definition increase to her physique, though Belinda didn't fault her for it seeing as they hadn't really seen each other for a year. Now though it seemed as if the Swede and the Brit were gonna lock up, and quickly enough the short haired blond took down her long haired counter-part, but to her surprise...or rather to what she sort of expected Lucy had managed to snag her legs around her waist and trapped Belinda in a waist-scissor.

" Kh...as quick as last time..." Belinda groaned out as she would try and bring her hands up to Lucy's head, trying to pull it in underneath her armpit and attempt to pull Lucy's head into a guillotine choke hold and attempt to place the fellow blond into a painful hold of her own. " Hah...this is gonna be a fun match." Belinda let out as she threw a smile onto her face.

Lucy was certainly naturally crafty, she had that knack to her. The situation didn't matter Lucy put that to good use in most situations, namely spring of the moment sorta things. Like getting tackled to the ground by a Swede girl in the middle of the ring, if Belinda wanted her cake then it was going to be given with her least favourite cream on it. Though things didn't start out too well for Ms Grange, but she was the sort to take it in stride. The going could change in the favour of the Brit if given a chance.

Still Belinda would know this, Lucy was applying a body scissors to her opponent. But this would be a game of one up your buddy, and Lucy loved games. That said though Belinda had a good idea of what to do against Ms Grange, using the restricted position to her advantage and apply a sort of choke hold around the head of Lucy. The Brit didn't respond to Belinda's words, no doubt intent on dealing with this hold.

Dang that was painful, Lucy had been choked before. The first thing was not to panic, remain as calm as possible. Ms Grange had her arms free somewhat, no point in trying to power out the hold. With this course in mind Lucy would proceed to ball her hands up and fire out some hard shots into Belinda's open area, hopefully the mixture of this and the body scissors would make the Swede reconsider this course of action and back off.

Belinda winced and whined a bit as she soon started to feel Lucy start to drive punch after punch into her side, the Swede knew that she couldn't keep things up the way she did and try and outlast Lucy, instead she had two choices try and escape...or try and out do Lucy here and now. The blond decided to try and outdo her fellow blond. 

Looking to place her feet down against the mat and then proceed to try and push herself upwards, looking to try and lift herself up and Lucy in the process. Looking to get the woman up into a cradle position and with a heavy groan attempt to throw herself backwards and try to drive Lucy's pretty head down into the mat for a painful cradle DDT! Looking to rock Lucy's pretty head with a heavy and powerful move, of course it would be quite the strain for Belinda to get the struggling Brit up and into position.

Lucy had no actual MMA training, she looked like she did given her intricate and somewhat methodical manner of how Lucy was dealing with Belinda. Over time Ms Grange had come to expand her arsenal beyond her high flying gymnastics, though she still preferred the rush that came with launching off the ropes. Plus it fit Lucy's nature of taking no shit from anyone, be they either girls her size or big men. There was a fine line between being stubborn and just plain ornery, but it was semantics as far as Ms Grange was concerned.

The way Lucy thought it if she battered Belinda enough then she'd drop this line of action, at least be shown that Ms Grange was meaning business. Belinda probably knew this, given that she tried to change her current hold on the Brit. Using her strength was something Lucy hadn't expected, with how similar in build she was to Ms Grange the preconception had reared it's ugly head.

With that the next thing Lucy knew was that she got hoisted upwards, and then getting spiked down hard. It was a pretty rough landing given Belinda's hefting of the sweet loving Ms Grange, that only served to make the impact more painful though. Lucy let out a loud groan as she lay crumpled for the moment, her mind figuratively blown by Belinda's move.

The cradle DDT worked out perfectly for the Swedish cutie as she took down the Brit with one fell swoop and managed to knock the lights out of Ms Grange...at least for the moment. It was just what the Swede needed to turn this early part of the match into a great advantage for her. As such the blond cutie quickly attempted to roll Lucy over onto her back and move on top of the girl. 

Following which Belinda would attempt to take a hold of Lucy's right arm and attempt to slip in underneath it and latch her legs over Lucy's chest. Attempting to place the fellow blond in a rather painful armbar submission attempt, looking to weaken Lucy's offense by going after her former sparring partner's arms for now.
