The beginning of an end to an Era (Sarah and Seraphim)

Ugh... so she was a thief to? It was one thing to steal if you needed it. After all, Seraphim had done it plenty of times as a child just to survive. Food, water, cloths, she had her share of theft, but only what was needed. However, stealing a car after beating someone within an inch of their life? It was too much for Seraphim, and she had to do everything in her willpower to keep silent.

'Though shall not steal...' She said to herself, looking up for a moment at the scattered clouds in the sky, hoping God would look past what she was doing as she opened the passenger door. Seraphim had given up those ways and was trying to make an honest living since she was dismissed from jail and entered the league, trying to be a changed young woman and living up to her promise. But it seemed that if she was going to accompany Sarah Gatt, she was going to be truly bending the rules until they snapped.

"...Yea, I'm coming." She murmered under her breath, most displeased before getting into the seat. Her crimson eye had a gaze that seemed... distant, like she wasn't all there right now. The white-haired wrestler felt like she was watching herself from above right now, like this wasn't really happening...

Sarah smirked as she watched Seraphim enter the car. She looked around to confirm no one was watching, and then she slid into the drivers seat. A turn of the ignition and the roar of the engine, and Sarah drove off with her distressed passenger.

Sarah drove fast down the roads, zipping past cars and going way over the speed limit. It wasn't like it was her car that was in danger of being wrecked. The police would love to stop her, especially if she knew she was driving a stolen car, so she obeyed some traffic laws, slamming on the brakes when she came to a red light.

As they waited Sarah glanced at Seraphim in the seat next to her. She didn't look very happy when she entered the car. And yet she didn't leave. She stayed because she wanted the same thing as Sarah. "So," Sarah said, striking up conversation with a sneer. "I heard you did time. That true?"

This whole thing didn't sit well with her, she didn't even feel comfortable despite being in such a cushioned seat. It made her stomach lurch, and she couldn't stand it. Seraphim had done plenty over her years, she stole, she beat up cops, she vandalized and made people suffer, there was even blood on her hands, but Seraphim was trying to put it all behind her these days. Every now and then she had to break the rules still, for example the time she had to fend off a few cops for Tracy, but there was a difference between having to do it, and simply just... doing it for no reason, and being in this stolen car was that case.

And it made her sick.

Seraphim didn't say anything though, she had her pride and ego, and never showed a sign of weakness. But when Sarah posed her question, Seraphim felt her chest tighten, and she let out a slow breath, turning away to look outside the passenger window with her hand on her chin, an empty look in her eye as she spoke with a blunt, dull tone. "...I don't see why that's important."

"I think it's pretty important," Sarah replied with a smile. "I'm inviting you into my humble home. I think it's a good idea to know a little bit about you before hand, in case I want to change my mind." Sarah knew Seraphim was in jail, she had read her profile. And it was because she read her profile that she was with her today.

Then the light turned green, and Sarah floored it down the road again. "I did time," Sarah soon said, scowling as she did so. "It wasn't so bad. You meet some interesting people on the inside."

She did make a valid point, but Seraphim still didn't like the idea of talking about it. When she thought too heavily about those days, she found herself either becoming deeply depressed, or even losing a grip on reality which was where her medication came into play. But hopefully she wouldn't have to worry about this too much, and they could just be quick about this whole thing. She didn't want to dabble on this subject too long, and watching the city go by through the passenger window wasn't helping her much, nor was Sarah's reckless driving.

[size=85:26vgpumf]"Not when you're raped and beaten on a day-to-day basis..." She muttered at first under her breath, maybe just loud enough to hear from Sarah, maybe not. But as she said this, Seraphim turned back to look at Sarah, only for a moment as she held a blank, empty expression on her face, letting out a long sigh as she spoke.

"I killed someone."

That was all she had to say. She didn't even seem to look at Sarah, rather, it was like she was gazing right through the woman, like she wasn't even there. Her crimson eye held a heartless, dead gaze in it, and the expressionless mask she wore upon her face said just how much she was capable of doing it again if she had to, like she wasn't afraid of anything that would cross her path. For those few moments, the angel who seeked redemption had a gaze of a cold-blooded killer... and took joy in every moment of it.

Sarah looked at Seraphim in surprise. Out of all the things she was expecting from the one-eyed woman, a killer was not one of them. "Well now!" Sarah with a light laugh, ocationally keeping her eyes on the road while she kept her eyes on Seraphim. "You're full of surprises, aren't you? Maybe I should watch what I say around you from now on. Let me guess, crime of passion?" The fact that Seraphim had killed someone surprised Sarah, but it didin't bother her. In jail she met lots of killers. What did it matter if she met one more?

She was laughing... it figured, Seraphim should have expected so much from Sarah, only causing the white-haired wrestler to let out a long sigh as she leaned back in her seat, obviously having her seatbelt on as well. At first, she didn't say anything to Sarah's ignorant claim and guess, not wanting to get on the subject at all, and instead just letting it blow right past her. She loathed talking about this sort of thing, but it seemed that Sarah just relished every moment of it.

This girl was absolutely fucked up in the head...

"It's more complicated than that. You wouldn't be able to understand." This was all she had to say towards Sarah, arms crossed again as she closed her eye, not falling asleep, simply closing it since she had nothing pleasing to look at. It was either a disgusting city, near misses in the car, or a heartless whore, take your pick, she didn't want to look at any of it.

Sarah shrugged indifferently. If the woman wanted her secrets, who was she to pry? "I used to think that the people who went to jail, are the ones stupid enough to get caught," Sarah said idly, whether the Crimson-Eye was listening or not. "But that's not it. In this world there's always someone better than you. Someone who can stop you, put an end to you, no matter how good you think you are. And when you meet that person...." Sarah's eyes were narrowed on the road, as if she weren't really focused on it. "Suddenly you're not so big anymore." From that point on Sarah didn't talk the rest of the drive, but luckily it was a short drive.

"Here we are," Sarah said, and pulled the car to a stop in a nearby parking lot. They still weren't at where she lived, but Sarah needed to ditch the car somewhere else before it was reported stolen, and the trail led back to her. Sarah stepped out of the car, and gestured for Seraphim to follow her. On the way Sarah tossed the car keys over her shoulder, and they fell into a nearby sewer grate. Grinning, Sarah continued on. "Almost there," she called to Seraphim.

If only she knew...
Seraphim listened well to what Sarah had to say, finding that for once, something intelligant came from the barbarian's lips, but Seraphim still didn't find it applying to her. After all... it was the perfect murder, Seraphim could have gotten away with it clean. But as she always said, 'God cursed her with a conscious,' and in the end, Seraphim had stayed at the scene of the crime to get caught. She could have walked away, she could have left the body where it lied, but Seraphim had never found the courage to step away. After all, if you kill someone as close as she was to the one she killed... it was a hard thing to just walk away from. It felt like leaving a part of herself if she had.

"No one is as big as they think they are. Not even you, Sarah." Seraphim commented off the record, hoping the girl was not just saying this to everyone without letting herself think about it for a moment. No one was free of being judged, not a damned soul in this god forsaken world could stand high without knowing there was someone there to kick you off your pedastal.

Letting those thoughts sink in, Seraphim walked away from the car, not asking why, but having a vague idea why this was done. Seraphim was careful not to touch anything in the car either, so she didn't leave any DNA evidence, even scanning over the seat for half a second to see if any of her long, feather-white hair was left behind. Once she was certain, she stepped out, following behind Sarah now. "...So is this how you normally get your ride?" She mocked, though it was obvious by the lack of enthuisiasm that even Sera;him wasn't finding that usual pride in her tone or finding this all too humerous.

Sarah chuckled lightly at the shot. "Not always," she answered. "Think of it as a do-it yourself taxi service." Sarah's neighbourhood was an urban collection of shops and appartments. Not the best part of town, but Sarah wasn't exactly the best type of person. Several teens hanging out in groups on the streets sent greetings Sarah's way, to which she returned. The queen of brawl was well liked and respected in the community it seemed, compared to everywhere else where she was hated.

Sarah was taking Seraphim to one of the appartments where she lived. There was an old looking man standing at the entrance, wearing a long trench coat. He was black, and seemed very fidgetity. "Tyler!" Sarah shouted upon seeing him, actually looking pleased. The man then turned to her, and brooke out into a wide grin.

"Sarah!" he chuckled in a thick British accent. The two clasped hands once close enough, both grinning like fools. "Good to see you, kid. Saw your fight the other night. Real nasty stuff! You sure gave that girl a run for her money."

"I gave her more than that," Sarah replied. Both laughed heartily with their own twisted sense of humour. "What brings you out here, Tyler? Don't you have a business to run?"

Suddenly Tyler became nervous and fidgety again. "Me? Oh, uh, nothing. J-Just....taking stroll. Yes! A stroll. I was taking a stroll and then stopped here for a breather."

"You're peddling watches again, aren't you?" Sarah said knowingly with a smirk. Tyler stiffened, and then he slumped in defeat. He flung out his trenchcoat, revealing a wide display of watches lining the inside. From pocket watches to rollexes, Tyler had it all. Knockoffs of course, but that didn't seem to bother him. Tyler grinned sheepishly. It was then he noticed Seraphim.

"Want to buy a watch?" he asked hopefully.
