Tiffany Laurence vs. River Styx - True Grit

River Styx had officially lost her patience. Just like that.

She’d tried this standard match shit. She’d tried to stay within the rules, or at least made some effort to not go all the way hardcore. But now she was on the outside, there was a ring bell right in front of her, and damn it, she just couldn’t help herself.

Styx grabbed the bell, clenched it tight, spun around and swung the thing right in Tiffany’s face, making sure to get her full torque behind the blow and aiming for those big, blue eyes of hers.

Tiffany never saw it coming. She was approaching River from the wrong angle to see the hardcore wrestler get her hands on the ring bell. She was getting ready to reach out and grab the other woman when suddenly, her foe whirled and blasted her full in the face!

The bell and it's mounting struck her with a muted thud. Suddenly everything went blurry and all the sounds of the arena seemed to be coming from a long distance. Tiffany fell backwards onto the mats outside the ring, looking up dully at the arena lights, blood starting to run from gash that had been opened on her forehead. At the moment, she barely felt any pain, but she had been in enough fights and matches to know when she had the bejesus smacked out of her.

"...the fuck...?" she mumbled incoherently....

The sheer joy that came from blugeoning another human being with a blunt object. How most wrestlers lived without feeling it on a regular basis, Styx wasn’t sure.

”Like that?” Styx stood up and was just about to continue her work, when she noticed the referee screaming bloody murder and throwing her hands towards the timekeeper. Signaling for the match to be called, most likely.

Only the timekeeper couldn’t do anything, because Styx had the bell.

Fortunately, Styx was feeling helpful, so she grabbed the tiny hammer and rang the thing herself. The crowd only booed more, but fuck them. She thought it was funny. ”Congrats, hayseed. Looks like you won. Via DQ, but still.”

Styx tossed the bell away, reached down, grabbed Tiffany’s gossamer hair and started to yank on it, pulling the Texan back to her feet. ”Let’s celebrate.”

Tiffany couldn't offer much in either the way of a witty retort, or in resistance. She could could only manage a groan of protest as River pulled the cowgirl to her feet.

Once up, the Texan could only weave and stagger as blood ran down her face. A hand clutched at the bigger woman's wrist as she tugged at the cowgirl's hair. Still, as she saw River's bald headed, ugly face, Tiffany managed to find to awareness to rasp out "Fuck....off."

Styx just smirked at Tiffany’s little reply. ”Not the most original last words I’ve ever heard.” She reached up and grabbed the cowgirl’s neck with her spare hand, getting a tight choke on. ”But they’ll do.”

With a mighty heave, Styx lifted Tiffany up in the air, holding her aloft for a precious second, before she twisted around and threw her down with a chokeslam, bringing her down hard onto the commenter’s table - always a fan favorite.

Tiffany gurgled weakly as River's hand closed on her throat. Her foe's power was shown off to full effect, as River held the Texan up for a few long moments. For Tiff it felt like an eternity. Her legs kicked weakly before suddenly River spun and then chokeslammed her through the nearby announcer's table with a loud crash!

Already knocked senseless by the ring bell, Tiffany was completely out, laid out in the wreckage of the table as blood trickled down her face...

With the crowd roaring and screaming and the impact’s echo still traveling along the stands, Styx stood back up, looking triumphant and proud...until she had to stumble back and nearly fell flat on her ass.

Tiffany’d taken a lot out of her with that fight. Despite being the lighter woman between them, she hit like a heavyweight, and the pain all over Styx’s body was a niggling little reminder of just how close things came to going the other way.

Granted, things had gone the other way, really - she’d lost the match. But she was standing when it was all said and done. “Yeah, bitch.” She gave Tiffany’s unconscious body a kick in the side. Pure spite. ”That’s what happens.”

Styx lumbered away, rubbing her head and grumbling under her breath while the referee’s ran past her, tending to Tiffany. A few of them gave her glares on the way, but none of them were stupid enough to say anything. Apparently, they’d thought that getting Styx away from standard matches would help protect their precious wrestlers from just this sort of scenario.

They’d just learned how wrong they were about that. Styx intended to keep hammering the point home, too.
