Tiffany Laurence vs. River Styx - True Grit

The crowd was buzzing as they waited for the next match, but not in a good way. This wasn’t the way they got when they were expecting a match from someone they liked or were happy to see, this was their response for someone they utterly loathed. And they didn’t have to wait long to boo her, either.

The crowd all turned to the entrance as new music played - a remix of Five Finger Death Punch’s 100 Ways to Hate.

”I

CARE!”

Even though she’d never come out to this tune before, most of them had already figured out who it belonged to, and their suspicions were confirmed only a moment later - out came River Styx, looking all kinds of pissed.

”Hate your goddamn, motherfucking, shitty ass band!
Hate the way you've got my back while you're holding out your hand!
Hate the way you pussies talk shit, hiding on the web!
Just the fact you think you know me makes me fucked up in the head!”

Styx had decided to go with some new music for the new year, and this choice pretty much accurately reflected her mood at the moment. She’d lost at Avalanche, to Adrian fucking Kytes. That would’ve been bad enough all by itself, but the stips for the match required her to stay away from hardcore matches. Oh, sure, she could still find Adrian and beat the piss out of her, but it wouldn’t get her anywhere. There’d be no point to it. So long as Adrian was the champ, Styx couldn’t be. Period.

That meant that Styx, for the time being, was in the standard match rotation. Boring, pedestrian, regular, vanilla, typical standard matches. Oh, joy. It was like going back to hamburgers when she'd been eating filet mignon for years.

She raised her hands in the air and flipped off the audience as she came down the ramp, not even bothering to look at them as they filled the arena with boos. Her eyes were centered on the ring, steely and focused. There was just one thing and one thing on her mind, and it wasn’t anyone of these fuckwits.

Styx rolled into the ring and stomped on over to her corner, where she leaned on the turnbuckle and croached while she stared down the ramp. She didn’t know who she was facing in her first standard match, she didn’t know what they’d bring to the table, but she did know that she had plenty of leftover aggression from Avalanche. Whoever this unlucky bitch was, she was about to get all of it.

Unbroken by Lynyrd Skynyrd began to play over the arena's speakers. The crowd wondered whose theme this was, but they didn't have to wait long for an answer. Tiffany Laurence stormed through the curtain, moving toward the ring, and River Styx, at a run! The Texan had chosen tonight to go with her new theme, something that was a little closer to her roots and frame of mind these days. But once she stepped onto the ramp and saw who was waiting in the ring, the blonde focused in on River.

River had been part of that ill fated randomly selected tag team match near the end of last year that had ended with Tiffany taking a beating at River's hands after being left by her so called partner Migiri Oozora. Granted, everyone on that match was on her shit list, but River was the bitch who had pissed her off the most in that debacle.

Plus, the nasty piece of trash had ran off with her hat.

Getting into the ring, Tiffany made a beeline right for River, but was stopped by the ref stepping in her path, arms outstretched.
"No! Get to your corner! Stop, stop!" The ref said while holding the Texan back.

For a moment, Styx was hopelessly confused. In part because she wondered who’d chosen such terrible theme music, and also because she didn’t know who was running down to face her, or why, or how anyone could be that stupid

Then her opponent got in the ring, Styx saw who it was, and everything made sense. ’You’re shitting me.”

No, Styx was not being shat. Indeed, that was none other than Tiffany Laurence, the same cowgirl bitch she’d powerbombed to hell last year. Styx had changed up her look since then, but not enough to keep this bitch from recognizing her, and it seemed like she was still sore about the way things went, back then.

Good. There was plenty of hate to go around.

Styx burst out of the corner and came straight towards Tiffany and the referee. ”Move, bitch!” She gave the referee one warning and she wisely took it, leaping out of the way as the bald brawler charged right into Tiffany and tried to tackle her down to the canvas.

River apparently was less concerned about the referee's safety, charging out of the corner with barely a warning. The ref scrambled out of the way, but Tiffany had no such intentions. There was going to be some payback tonight, the cowgirl swore to herself.

Grunting as she was tackled, the blonde went down with the larger River on top. However, once they were on the mat, Tiffany punched up with her right hand at the other woman's face, trying to keep her from getting settled into a full mount....

Styx crashed into Tiffany, Tiffany went down, the ring shook as nearly four-hundred pounds of raging western women crash into it, and the bell rang to officially begin what would likely be a very, very violent match.

The crowd was hardly on Styx’s side, but they were all down to see a brawl, and that seemed to be exactly what they were getting from these two hellions. Wanting to be on top like usual, Styx tried to crawl up Tiffany’s body and mount her, where she planned to spend the rest of the fight, but a straight punch in the face canceled that plan.

”Guh!” Styx rolled to the side, stunned for a moment. She shook it off fast and kicked at Tiffany’s chest from her side, trying to create some separation between the two of them.

After managing to send Styx sprawling off of her, Tiffany rolled, trying to pursue the larger woman in order to to perch on her chest on rain punches down on her face. That did seem like the proper way start a beating, after all. But River had other plans, kicking out with a heavy boot and sending Tiffany back with an "Ungh!" of pain.

Getting back to her feet, the cowgirl would lunge back at River drawing up her foot and lashing out a boot at the larger woman's stomach, looking to double her over. Then the Texan would bring her knee up and slam it up under River's jaw with a loud yell, trying to strike with a hard combination of hits to get the other woman on the defensive!

Styx was enjoying herself.

Granted, you’d be forgiven for not figuring that out so easily, judging by the way she was kicking and screaming and looked like she wanted to detach Tiffany’s jaw from the rest of her head. But deep inside - deep, deep inside - she was smiling. It was a chance to bust up someone she hadn’t busted up in a long time. Just what she needed.

What she didn’t need was a kick in the gut, and that was what she got, with a knee in the face following quickly after it. Styx’s would’ve been able to take either attack well enough, but the quick way they landed after each other left her reeling for a moment, forcing her to stagger back towards the ropes. Stunned. Just for now. Tiffany could throw a mean blow, she’d give the cowgirl that much, but it would only get her so far.

"Ain't easy fightin' someone who hasn't been dog piled on by three other people, is it?" Tiffany commented angrily as she advanced after River Styx.

With the larger woman on the ropes for the moment Tiff decided to grasp hold of River's arm and whip her towards the ropes on the other side of the ring. The Texan would wait for her opponent to be on the way back to her before charging at Styx, her arm swinging towards the other woman with a running lariat!

Styx just rubbed her head and shook off the blow as Tiffany made her little comment. "Pretty sure I kicked your ass before that happened, but whatever makes you feel good. Annie-Oakley-looking bitch."

Styx frankly didn't remember it well enough to be sure that Tiffany was spot on, and she didn' have the time to dwell, as she was hurled off towards the ropes. An irish whip. Fine. She knew how to play that game well enough.

The bald brawler came charging of the ropes, building momentum as she headied straight twoards Tiffany and preparing to hit her with a running lariat...at the exact same time the cowgirl seemed to be doing the same thing.

Shit. This wouldn't end well

The two women coming together was something akin to a small car crash. Tiffany saw what was about to happen, and instead of flinching away from it, which wouldn't help her anyway, the cowgirl committed herself fully to the attack. If she could hit River hard enough, maybe it would give the cowgirl enough time to recover from the hit she was about to take.

Tiffany took the hard hitting lariat full on, even as she blasted the other woman with one of her own. The Texan would be knocked down on her back, her blonde hair fanning out under her head.

"Son of a bitch..." she'd groan dazedly...
