A Friendly Challenge

Jean managed to twist his midsection to minimize the effectiveness of Dave's kick, but that didn't mean it wouldn't sting slightly. Jean grinned though, he wasn't quite done. He darted forward and got in Dave's face in what would be known as a clinch in boxing, preventing either of them from making any super-effective punches or kicks. Instead he worked at slipping his left foot behind Dave's ankle and pulled towards himself, trying to trip him off his feet.

Dave saw what was going on and grabbed Jean, intent on dragging his opponent down with him.

Jean succeeded when he felt Dave's ankle start to slip and he shoved at Dave's upper half to increase the leverage. However to his dismay Dave had a better hold on him than he expected, and they ended up falling together in a mass of limbs. Jean landed on top of Dave, faces just inches apart and close enough to feel the other's breath on his face. Jean was a bit taken off guard, pausing for a second to blush before he regained his composure. Jean grabbed Dave's wrist and rolled to the side, doing his best to secure Dave's arm between his thighs in an armbar.

Dave gasped when Jean's face was so close to his own. He could feel the rock star's warm breath on his face and he resisted the urge to lean closer. That's when Jean was setting him up for an armbar.

Crap crap crap! Gotta act fast! he thought, rolling his body over on the ground and shoving Jean back. He wasnt gonna give Jean an easy match as he mounted Jean and delivered a series of punches to his abs and head.

Damn it! Jean mentally cursed, he wasn't quick enough to lock his ankles and secure the armbar. Dave was already up and on him, quickly advancing under his guard. Jean put his arms up to protect his face but there was nothing he could about the punches to his abs, taking each one with a grunt. With Dave mounted on top of him, he had an opportunity to reverse this. Lifting his lower half, Jean used his legs to try to get a hold of Dave's midsection to try and get him into a bodyscissors and pull him away.

David kept wailing on Jean's abs, not letting up, when he felt Jean shift his lower body. Dave rolled away, not giving his opponent time to act.

Dave's heart felt like it was going at a rapid pace, and to be honest this fight with Jean was amazing. Win or lose, this would be a learning experience for both of them.

Jean's legs caught nothing but air as David retreated from the mount. Jean likewise rolled away to the other side, massaging his abs. 'Note to self: don't let David mount' Jean told himself as he got back up to his feet. He started to circle David again, looking for an opening to take advantage of.

Dave wasn't gonna let Jean take the initiative, as he latched onto his arm and threw him into the corner post.

Jean saw Dave lunge forward and he delivered a good kick to the side Dave was reaching with. Unfortunately it also left him vulnerable to losing his balance, and helped Dave swing him into the corner post. His back hit the corner post and feigned weakness to lure Dave in, slouching slightly and grabbing the ropes for support.

Dave saw Jean slump in the corner, feeling that it would give him the opportunity to end this little spar. As he approached, he saw Jean's chest heaving and drops of sweat dripping off his brow.
