The nurse turned to the visitor and said, "Okay, you can go in now...Come on, don't be shy." There was a pause for a few moments before the visitor began walking in.

The black-haired boy looked like around his early 20s and he looked to see the two girls resting here. She first turned to Layla and say, "Hi, Layla. G-G-Glad to s-see you. A-Are you o-o-k-k-kay?"

Layla nodded and said, "Yes, I am, Howie. I'm glad to see you're okay too." She then showed her hand to the other girl next to her. "This is my new friend, Janet."

Howie turned to Janet and he suddenly blushed at the beauty of her. He would turn his face away shyly and took a moment to get himself together before looking at Janet. His hand would shake as he tried to wave to Janet. "Uhh...h-h-hiii...I...I am...Howie...P-Pleased to m-m-meet you, J-Janet."

Janet watched a little apprehensively as the guy came in. Much of her anxiety quickly dissipated once she realized that he seemed pretty much harmless—even a little weak, although Lady Lakota knew that looks could very well be deceiving. She smiled thinly and waved back to him when he introduced himself.

“Hello, Howie…nice to meet you,” she said, sitting up a little and glancing from him to Layla and back.

Howie shyly bowed to her quickly in respect.

Layla would say to Janet, "Pardon for the way Howie speaks. He didn't talk much when he was little becuase of his constant stuttering. He's currently getting tutored to help him speak better to other people."

Howie would then say, "You-You don't mind the-the way I t-t-t-talk do you?" He couldn't quite hide his blushing as much as he thought.

Janet didnâ€t mind the way he spoke at all. She preferred it, really, to the way what she called the “usual guy” spoke; she hated quite a few guys just because they all seemed like the sort of misogynistic bastards who had raped her all those years ago.

“I donâ€t mind at all,” Janet said, smiling a little wider just to reassure the boy that she didnâ€t mind his stuttering. “Itâ€s fine. Go ahead.”

Howie would clear his throat as he tried to contain his blushing and smiled as he said, "Y-Y-You-You look v-very beautiful, Janet."

Layla's eyes grew wide as she looked at Howie first before Janet. It seems when he's willing to speak his feelings, he's not afraid to show it.

Janet smiled when the boy complimented her looks. Of course, she wasnâ€t interested in boys, but it was nice to know that she could still attract people of either sex. “Why, thank you,” she said, laying back onto the bed. “Thatâ€s very kind of you to say.”

Layla said to Janet, "Howie here is looking to join AFW later this month. He has a good skillset in kickboxing and submissions, and he wanted to try out his skills here."

Howie said, "I m-might be t-tim-timid and not g-g-good in speaking...b-b-but I can fight! I can protect and I can serve justice!"

Janet nodded, listening to Layla and Howie explain how he was going to join AFW later that month. She was a little skeptical as to just how much of a fighter this guy could be, but she figured that she would hear about it if he made some waves in the guys†fights. She didnâ€t watch them—since she wasnâ€t really into guys, there wasnâ€t really a point to her watching their matches—but she hoped that he would do well.

“I wish you the best in that,” she said, nodding. “Fighting in the AFW is really fun. Iâ€ve been having the time of my life.”

Howie blushed as he shyly said, "I-I wish you the b-b-best too, Janet. I'll be ch-che-cheering for you, L-Layla, and the r-r-rest of our friends. I-I hope I can e-even fight you s-s-sometime." He was excited to join the federation and he had a lot to prove once is in.

Janet giggled a little. “Well, thank you. That is very kind of you. To be honest, I donâ€t fight guys, but I hope you can find plenty of opponents and prove yourself here at AFW. Iâ€ll be rooting for you.”
