Re: RPGs, Collaberation and Kayfabe
Blue knows that dice rolls are exciting.
To be honest I have no experience of online RPGs so I donâ€t know which approach would be best. If the dice can be rolled easily and without contention then I guess that saves the GM a job. As Kitten says, it lets you be more tactical if you know how well the match is going.
In terms of the system - the full Kayfabe RPG has 4 skill areas - Wrestling, Mic Skills, Work Rate and Clout. Clout was just a measure of backstage influence (spending it like currency when you want to pull favours with the GM), so if you were streamlining the systems for online play, I figured it would be the first to go - Clout can just be abstracted into the GM characterâ€s own RPâ€ing (if your wrestler keeps screwing over other wrestlers and not sticking to the script, they will naturally get a bad reputation with management, and it would be the GM‘s job to RP that).
Work Rate felt pretty underused - a measure of a wrestlerâ€s ring psychology, it was mainly used for deciding who got control of the narrative if there was a disagreement, but very little else. So I thought if you kept the ring psychology element, but extended it to use with any non-wrestling drama (I.e. hentai or cat fighting (which you might want more of in an all female league)) as a more general ‘Actingâ€, it might be more useful.
Though I can see why, with the name ‘Actingâ€, it does seem like you could merge it with Mic Skills to have just two skill areas. Maybe that would be too few, though. I think there is room to separate physical acting skill in the ring, and general charisma with a microphone.

Maybe you could have:
Wrestling
Charisma
Psychology (as in ring psychology)
Some wrestlers have great Psychology but no Charisma or Mic Skills.

Yeah that makes sense and feels balanced. Wrestling for most in-ring action (and occasionally deciding physical contests). Psychology for any non-wrestling drama in the ring (not necessarily just for the hentai girls) plus gaining control of the match flow if its undecided. Charisma for interviews / promos, plus anything where you need to convince other chars.

Re: RPGs, Collaberation and Kayfabe
OK, so if we are reducing the primary skills to wrestling, ring psychology and charisma, that affects the number of points you get for character creation.
So rookies get 9 points to distribute amongst the 3 skills, and experienced wrestlers get 13. So rookies start pretty average (and risk putting on a few dud performances), but can develop their stats over time.
For the game, each player would have one experienced wrestler and a few rookies. Itâ€s not a problem if your multiple characters end up scheduled to fight each other, as the GM can take control of one.
I wonâ€t post the whole Kayfabe section on character creation (if anyone is interested they can PM me). The main shtick is that you are playing a character playing a wrestler - so each girl needs a real-life bio, with their ring gimmick kept separate.
On top of the 3 skill stats, then, a girl needs a ring gimmick and a face/heel nomination, a named finishing move (which nets +5D6 when used), and one or two trademark moves (which net +2D6). In the best wrestling tradition, of course, the ring gimmick will probably change over time to keep it fresh.
Finally, the character has a number of Assets and Flaws (taking the same number of each at creation). These apply to the real-life character (NOT the gimmick persona), so they can include behind-the-scenes stuff and professional connections.
Assets are mostly either additional starting popularity (+5 Heat), additional trait points, or +2D6 for specialisation in particular move sets (e.g. High Flying, Submission, Power Moves etc).
I was thinking that, as itâ€s AFW, you would also want Assets like â€Hentai Wrestler†- so if a section of the match was basically porn rather than wrestling, you would use the Psychology trait to sell it, and +2D6 if you had the hentai Asset. Similarly, a Catfighting Asset for when the move set was largely non-wrestling slaps or spanks.
For the Flaws which hinder a character, â€Dislikes Hentai†could be a valid counterpoint.

I think you've got it backwards. "Dislikes hentai" is definitely an asset.

Heh, I knew youâ€d say that. And honestly, I do feel a bit bad suggesting that “reluctant to get her tits out in public†is some kind of character flaw.
Obviously, the base game is not geared for hentai at all. Iâ€m not sure that the mechanics would fully support all-out, hardcore pornographic hentai matches anyway. I think the league would actually need to be based on actual wrestling content… whilst leaving scope for those who want to add kinkier sections to their matches.
As it stands with the current suggested rules, hentai is something you can throw into a match as a relatively easy way to generate Heat, especially for characters with low wrestling but good ring psychology skills. But you should be able to work without it.
In fact, gameplay-wise, “Dislikes Hentai†could be a pretty good flaw to take, if you simply offset it with a bonus to wrestling, and then concentrate on that, you wonâ€t get hindered by your “flaw†at all.

I knew you knew I'd say that. I didn't want to disappoint.
And yeah, I imagine heterosexual girls are ridiculed at Friction. Also, girls that don't want to nude up and have sex on camera. What's even their deal?
