Clare O'Doherty vs Nanako Jounouchi

Clare was planning on coming on Nanako punching the minute she had the chance, it was expected. What wasn't expected was the feint, Clare strafed directly into the powerful left fist that embedded itself in her stomach. Clare gasped for air and doubled over, holding her stomach with gloved hands. Getting punched by Nanako was a horrid expierience, if Clare had enemies, she wouldn't even wish it on them. Clare stumbled a bit, trying to regain herself, but had spent enough time trying to do so, that she was vulnerable.

Nanako's eyes widened as her fist sunk deep into Clare's gut. Had she done that? Had her silly fake boxing technique actually produced results? As she saw Clare double over in actual pain she felt like celebrating. But she knew there was little time for that. She bet that Clare could take a punch a lot better than she could. She clenched her fists under her gloves. This may be her only chance. Approaching Clare as she remained hunched over, Nanako would raise her glove up high before bringing it down hard on the top of Clare's skull for strong overhead punch, hoping to take her foe to the mat with it.

Clare had to readjust. Opening her eyes, she was unaware of a teal colored bomb looming overhead. It came down instantly, producing the desired effect, as Clare's eyes shut momentarily. Her knees seemed to cease existing, it was as though her toso was just falling from the sky. The smaller fighter had finally experienced Nanako's full power. Something she really could have done without knowing. Clare pawed at the air in vain, unable to believe she was going down. She found herself sliding down the lengthy body of her opponent, and to the mat.

The ref instantly came in for a count, likely expecting a knockout, as Clare lie motionless much like Nanako had. "1....2....3....4"
Clare stirred around the four count but didn't get up yet. The ref's count was audible but she sounded miles away. Her head didn't ache so much as it rang and fogged, but she was still sore and shocked. How did she go down so easily?

Nanako often didn;t know the limits of her own strength. She had hoped that her blow would take Clare down to the mat, but after it connected solidly her opponant looked pretty much dead afterwards. She was a bit surprised when Clare slid onto her, Nanako's first instinct being to catch the girl, but knowing that wouldn't do much for a possible win she allowed Clare to fall, letting her drop just by her feet.

Nanako panted asfter laying out her opponant, still quite sore from the beating she had taken thus far. But several punches to her body and face later she had finally downed her skilled opponant. Nanako would step back several steps until she reached her corner, and then waited to see the results of her efforts.

Clare opened her eyes to find that her head was on the canvas, it was so unusual. She seldom let punches even get through, but her opponent's strength had made it quite easy for her to get knocked down. Clare groaned and pushed herself up from the mat a bit too late for her liking, just before the ref was to count to eight. Clare blinked slowly, the overhead bash had effected her, possibly through the rest of the fight. Her vision was shaky at best, and now her psyche was a bit broken. She feared going down again. A few more head punches and she'd be going to bed earlier than she wanted to this evening. No, that wouldn't do. Clare waited for the signal to resume, she maintained a solid form but she was noticeably having trouble with her foot work. It was clear that the hits slowed her down for the time being. Clare actually exerted caution as she edged closer to her opponent, throwing a moderate jab to tie her over and hopefully avoid getting hit while she got in, underneath the amazon's reach.

Nanako held her breath as the count reached its end. She thought she had really beaten Clare, that her mistake in ending up in the Boxing Federation would actually turn out for the better. But Nanako's hopes would dashed, and she groaned to herself as Clare got up at the count of eight. It had been agood effort, but apparently not enough to stop the smaller boxer.

Nanako readied her fists to go another round with Clare, cautiosly stepping out from her corner with gloves raised. Nanako noticed immedaitely that Calre seemed to be moving a bit differently than before. Maybe her blow did a bit more than she thought. it could only be called an advantage for Nanako as Clre seemed a bit more afraid of her. Nanako couldb't avoid the jab, and it struck her stomch with a small grunt, but the amazon noticed that it wasn't as strong as her earlier punches.

Steeling herself, Nanako would attmept to throw another strong punch at Clare's face, a simple jab with her normal power packed behind it.

Clare was dissatisfied with her punch, she just needed to gain her wits back. The punch hardly seemed to faze her opponent this time, who came right back with a punch Clare's fogged vision never saw coming. It smashed home and sent her stumbling yet again, this time, she nearly lost her balance, seizing the ropes and pushing off of them to avoid going down again. Still, she felt nauseated now, Clare was shocked at how quickly she found herself in trouble.
Clare landed probably three times as many punches, but every punch that she took from Nanako was a near death sentence. Still, she wasn't about to back down, fighting with a spirit that many would admire. She closed in on the bigger boxer again, anchoring down right in front of her. She would meet her in the middle and stand her ground, this becoming a real fight now. She was still unsure on her feet, trading punches with Nanako wasn't favorable, but Clare would do it regardless.

She launched out a punch towards Nanako's face, trying to summon her previous strength, she'd see if she managed to do so if the glove made contact with it's intended target of Nanako's chin. She'd launch a body shot immediately after, using her right which she intended to put more muscle behind but felt too groggy.

Nanako managed to strike Clare again with favourable results, sneding her opponant stumbling into the ropes. Unlike Nanako though, Clare wasn't stupid enough to get tangled up on them like she had. But the fact she was hitting Nanako much more easily now was a sign that the amazon punches were actually starting to wear Clare down. Nanako had taken scores of Clare's blows, she could feel where ever one had hit, while Nanako herself had only struck Clare a grand total of five times now. It was encouraging to know that Nanako deliver just as much punihsment to Clare but with fewer the punches.

Nanako raised her fists when Clare came in again. But even with Clare in a worse state than she was when the fight began she still proved to be faster than Nanako when her blow managed to hit her chin. "Guh!" Nanako grunted in pain, rocked by the hit, leaving her open to another to her stomach. If Clare had less power than before, Nanako didn't notice it, probably because she had taken such a sustained beating thus far.

"HURK!" Nanako groaned, huching over slightly from the hit, her fists dropping from their guard.

Clare noticed her opponents vulnerability again. Clare hoped she could secure control once again, to reassert the dominance she had suddenly lost. Still, this whole fight was a gamble, any response from Nanako to Clare's encroachment on her space, and the smaller girl might flatline. Still, Clare felt confident in seeing that she had begun to cause damage once again. While her opponent was doubled over, Clare cocked and fired a right hand, hurdling for Nanako's nose. That was always a jolting place to be hit. It tended to either shock the opponent or panic them into a desperate frenzy. It was just another dice roll in the gamble of a fight.

If Clare hit, she'd go in hard with a low punch from her left hand, pouring her full bodyweight behind the strike.

"UUUGHH!!" Nanako cried out when Clare's fist plowed straight into her nose. Thankfully there was no sound of a crunch, but damn id it didn't hurt Nanako anyway. Her vulnerable position had left her very open to Clare's follow up, and Nanako stumbled back clutching her face. "Owowowowow!!" the tall beauty whined as she held her face, the match momentarily forgotten as she freeted over what she believed to be a broken nose. Unfortunately this meant that nanako was also very open to Clare's next attack.

"GUUHH!!!" Nanako shouted, Clare's left burying deep within her stomach. With the smaller fighter's full weight behind it it seemed to drive all the air from the amazon. The punch that was still deep in Nanako's gut seemed to be the only thing keeping her on her feet. Her gloved hands clutched at Clare's shoulders in a sort of cinch, trying her best to stay upright. SHe doubted that would stop the boxer's momentum though.
