Clare O'Doherty vs Nanako Jounouchi

This was the moment Clare had waited for, eagerly anticipating her first fight that would be seen, taking place beyond the walls of a pub or a gym. This was her first fight with real competition in her eyes. She knew nothing about her opponent, but felt fairly confident that she'd at least find a good fight. The promise of competition was what had convinced her to leave home anyways, she was young, but her skills were phenomenal and she'd yet to come across anyone that could outbox her, despite her smaller size.
As her entrance music blared, she made her way to the ring, quite excited for the bout. The compact fighter made her entrance with electric energy, she'd loved a good crowd, but she was in awe of the size of this one. Excitedly striding down the ramp and rolling under the bottom rope.

She had been met with a fairly good reaction, be it because people naturally liked her, or the fact that her skimpy ring attire was enough for a standing ovation from a few in the audience. She hardly looked like what she was, she was a hell of a fighter, but she was wrapped in a package that seemed far too pleasant to love combat as much as she did. In truth, she craved it.
Once the music did stop, she found herself alone in the ring, awaiting her challenger. She anticipated the arrival of an opponent, placing her water and a towel in the ring, just outside of the ropes. Promptly beginning to shadowbox, her emerald colored gloves, matching her eyes, displayed accurate, quick punching skills. It'd be apparent that she knew what she was doing, despite her build which was well forged. She was slim, petite even, but showed a decent display of lean muscle, maintaining softness in her round bosom and bottom. She resigned her self, hands at her sides as she awaited the first opponent she'd take on at a professional level, though she knew nothing about who she'd be fighting. That had made it even more fun in her eyes.

Backstage s the entrance music of her soon to be opponant blared through the spearers Nanako Jounouchi was making her fianl ring preperation, tightening the laces on her boots and sighing. "Okay, here we go again," she said to herself, albeit a little nervously. It hadn't been that long ago since she had her 'debut' match the Tension league, a league that she did actually sign up for and had merely wandered there by mistke, but that hadn't stopped the league organizers from setting her up in a match. Her male opponant had completely demolished her well beyond the point of her fighting back, making her first fight in the AFW a complete disaster, merely because she had gotten lost.

Nanako would tighten the last lace of her boot and stood to her full considerable height. At 6'2" she was one of the tallest girls in the AFW, and her height did not come without a good degree of muscle on her body. She was dressed in her usual ring attire that was a white one-piece swimsuit that showed off her flawless skin and long legs, and she clenched her fist in determination. "This time I'll show them!" she declared. This was her chance to show the AFW what she was really made of, to show them that shewas not just some raw rookie to be beat on by the more expereinced fighters. It was time for Nanako to shine!

With that thought in mind Nanako was about to step up to the entrance ramp, when one of the staff stopped her, handing a pair of teal coloured boxing gloves. Nanako blinked in confusion. "W-What would I need those for?" she questioned nervously, but the employee wasn;t even lsitening, quickly outiftting her with the gloves without a word. "b-But I don't need these! I'm here to wrestle, right? Right?" Nanako stammered, and a horrible thought crossed her mind. In her hurry toget to the Friction building, had she accidently stumbled upon the AFW's lesser known Boxing League.

I did it again!!! Nanako screamed in her head, right before the taff member pushed her out of the door. Nanako stumbled with a yelp onto the entrance ramp, now armed with her light blue gloves, and realized there was no turning back now. "Oh no..." Nanako moaned. With no other choice, Nanako would timidly make her way to the ring, the crowd cheering for her and marvelling at her beauty on the way, but Nanako barely heard them. Her heart was pounding in her chest at the thought of being in a boxing match. She didn't know how to box!

Finally reaching the ring, Nanko would climb through the ropes and head to her corner. it was there shew would first lay eyes on her much smaller, yet very eager looking opponant. Nanako waved her glove nervously. "H-Hi...."

Clare eyed the ramp eagerly as a figure stumbled out. Her eyes were a bit wide, as Clare had realized just how tall she was. She was partially excited, wondering just how she'd match up. It was a bit of a shock, seeing as this was the largest female opponent she'd ever faced. Even the males she'd boxed tended to be a couple inches shorter. That came as both an advantage and a disadvantage, but as tough as the compact, Irish born boxer was, she knew that more than a couple of punches from her opponent would be dangerous. Clare was still up for the challenge, few could match her in actual boxing, she assumed this girl to be the brawler type.
She eyed her opponent who appeared extremely timid by contrast.

"Hi!" Clare returned excitedly from her corner, a genuine smile on her face. She began to wonder if her opponent was okay, she seemed perfectly healthy, which was why she was confused by her opponents demeanor. Clare considered asking, but she feared she'd offend, considering that she was minutes away from fighting this girl it was an odd thing to think about, but Clare was oddly peaceful and never took an elitist attitude about these fights.

To say Nanako was nervous would be quite the understatement. She had never boxed before in her life. She barely even knew how to throw a punch! Now they wanted her to box? She couldn't beleive how stupid she was to get lost on her way to the Friction arena. Again! At least when she got lost in the Tension league she could apply her wrestling skills. Those would be of no use to her in this ring. Nanako had really gotten herself into a jam this time.

Bouncing nervously from foot to foot Nanako looked at her opponant again. She seemed nice enough on the outside, unlike the monster she had in her first match. Maybe if she explained her situation to her she would understand. "Hey, uh, listen," Nanako called out to her. "This may sound really stupid, but I;m not actually supposed to be -" Unfortunately the bell would ring, interupting Nanako and signalling the beginning of the fight. "Of forget it...." Nanako groaned, knowing that it was too late.

Raising her gloves at the ready in something reminiscent of a boxer's stance, Nanako would move cautiously out of her corner. She had quite the height advantage over Clare, and was probably quite a bit stronger. Maybe if she utilized that things might not turn out so bad for her. And so with that in mind, Nanako would open things up with the first punch, throwing a heavy right hook at Clare's face, though it would be quite slow and sloppy to boot.

Clare looked up at her opponent. She didn't look quite sure of herself, but if she was boxing here, she had to be quite skilled, right?
Either way, Clare sought to hear her opponent out. She seemed to want to say something, but the sound of the bell had forced Clare to drown her out with a bit of a shrug. She raised her gloves skeptically, trying to figure out what her opponent was doing. She didn't have her arms quite right, perhaps it was to adjust for the height. Clare was oblivious to her opponents inexperience, as Clare herself had an unorthodox style, and was excited that Nanako at least didn't seem to be by the book. The littler fighter didn't hesitate at all at the resonating of the bell.

Raising her gloves she danced forward, not showing an ounce of intimidation. Nanako seemed a little more eager, seeing as how she'd thrown a punch instantly. Clare had seen it coming a mile away, the form being quite poor. It confused Clare a bit, but she easily weaved around it and swiftly ended up in close with the bigger boxer. She'd known that the close proximity would put Nanako at a disadvantage, and so she took the opportunity to blast three perfect shots towards her opponents body. By nature, she fired with perfect form, a deceptive amount of strength and blazing speed. A smile on her face since the fight had begun, it was still all very innocent to her.
Immediately after firing the punches, she'd strafe to the side a bit more, but remain close to her opponent.

Instead of her punch conecting with Clare's face, as she was so hoping it would, Nanako's gloved fist would go wide, and her eyes would widen in panic. Oh no! Nanako would think in alarm. Clare would easily get in nr her meager defenses, the smaller girl being alarmingly fast to do so, and the next thing Nanako would know three rapid punches would be thrown into her stomach. "Gug! Ugh! Ah!" Nanako grunted with each one.

The blows would cause her to stumble back, raising her arms at once again to get some kind of guard up. Not only was Clare fast, she was strong as well. Her stomach was hurting quite a bit now. She clenched her teeth, fighting through the pain. Thankfully Nanako's tall body could absorb a good amount of punihsment. I can do this, nanako thought to herself in determination. Once again she would attmept to move in on Clare, throwing a right, then a left at her opponant's face, trying to land something on her quick opponant. Though once again, they were the punches of an amateur; slow and without much technique behind them.

Clare had moved to the side, but Nanako seemed to be antagonized enough to try again. She didn't seem to think the moves through, Clare treating boxing much more like a strategy game. Still, seeing the aqua blue gloves swing at her again Clare was a bit alarmed. This fight felt much more risky. Or, it would have been had Nanako shown a bit more skill. Clare had expected the first punch, dodging it by simply moving her head, her lower body staying anchored. She'd brought her gloves up to strike at her larger opponent again, thinking she'd only fire one punch. Sorely mistaken, as the followup rocked the smaller boxers world. She stumbled halfway across the ring, beating herself up mentally for being careless. She stood her ground though, fairly tough for her size, she hardly stopped moving, now she came back in with purpose.
Now she knew to be cautious. She quickly closed in on Nanako, it would be difficult to box her without headshots, Clare wanted her opponent to know that her size advantage didn't guarantee her a win, and that she should be careful.

Emerald eyes scanning Nanako, she moved right back in, without the slightest hesitation. She threw a straight right hand hard into her opponents stomach in the hopes of getting her to double over again. If it went according to plan, she'd plant a wicked combo of a jab, hook then uppercut.

I got her? I got her! Nanako celebrated in her head. When her first hit failed to land yet again she was nervous, but it was her second one that managed to nail Clare right in the face. Nanako may not have had a whole lot of experience in throwing punches but she had the power that many would envy in the ring. With her hit having landed Nanako felt a surge of confidence flow through her. She had nearly sent Clare flying with that blow. Maybe she really could win this!

Of course when Clare came back though, seemingly unfazed by her power, Nanako was a little unprepared, having been on the offense so far. "UGGGH!!" Nanako grunted as he nailed hard in the stomach. It had the desired effect of having hunch over, where Clare would get the head shots she desired. "Guh! Urh!" Nanako cried out from the hook and the jab, her head rocking with the blows, but it was the uppercut that really nailed her. "UUUUGGHH!!" Nanako cried out, her head snapping backwards and sending her stumbling back. She remained on her feet, but it was clear that combo had rattled her. Her long legs shook and wobbled, a dazed look coming across her pretty face.

Clare saw inexperience in her opponent, it was in her nature to take pity on that sort of thing, but she convinced herself against sympathy for the time. This was her first televised match, and people probably doubted her at first glance. Not to mention, Clare figured that Nanako signed up for this to begin with. Seeing that her opponent was dazed, the petite fighter tried an unlikely thing, she tried bulling the larger opponent into the corner using heavy body punches, all with her left, power hand.
Off to a good start, Clare fired off the shots in rapid succession. She felt as though she was doing less damage than usual, seeing as how paranoid she was of being hit too many time, The last thing she wanted to do was lose her first fight, especially by KO.

It was clear, likely to everyone, that Clare knew what she was doing, but she found herself overcompensating on defense, for the fear that her opponent would try retaliating again. Truth be told, an amateur with this much strength was dangerous, due to their unpredictability. Clare couldn't help but feel that she was underestimating her opponent, but thus far the fight had said otherwise.

Spots danced across Nanako's vision after taking that dizzying combo to her had. She had no idea that being hit by boxing gloves hurt so much. Clare's blows had really rocked her. She couldn't get her mind cleared in time before her smaller opponant was on her again, and could only raise a half-guard by the time she started nailing her with body blows.

The tall beauty grunted as the first few blows hit her, slamming into her stomach and sides in rapid sucession. Nanako may have been an amatuer when it came to boxing, but she knew enough to throw up a guard to block anymore of those strong blows. Thye bounced off her gloves and forearms but some still managed to get past her guard. Otherwise though Nanako could tough it out. But what she failed to notice though was that Clare was actually pushing her backwards towards her own corner, a common boxing tactic but one that was lost on Nanako.

When she was just about in the corner Nanako decided now was the time to fight back. As Clare threw her latest blow, Nanko would abandon her guard to try and throw a heavy handed right to Clare's face.
