Clare O'Doherty vs Nanako Jounouchi

Clare continued to charge in, she continually found herself ignoring her opponents fists entirely, she was fixated on simply pounding away on Nanako. She was tough and it would take a good deal of time to even knock her down. Clare had began punching with both hands, attempting to punch through her guard. Clare refused to let up, she had enough stamina to keep going too... That wasn't good enough though, somehow, boxing an opponent like Nanako, she got careless. Perhaps it was due to her curiosity of just how much the tall beauty could take. That was when Clare got hit for the second time. Her head snapped to the side and her mouth guard was sent flying. That shot was surprisingly clean, and to be quite honest, she'd never been hit by anyone this strong. She stumbled aimlessly again, annoyed that she could be hit by this sloppier boxer.
In fact, she'd begin to get a bit aggressive when the dazing effect wore off. Clare actually felt a bit hurt, she seldom got hit, and her she was, a bit hindered this early in the first round of her first fight.

Clare instinctively had a guard up while she regained her composure, she was smart enough to back a way a bit as well. Clare decided to let the novice play aggressor, as she undoubtedly was proud of herself for so much as landing a hit, if she was eager enough, she'd come in and make a fatal mistake.

Yes! Yesyesyesyes! Nanako once again celebrated after nailing a goodpunch straight across Clare's face. Her opponant was sent stumbling back, and Nanako would step out from the corner she almost found herself trapped in, a proud smile gracing her features. her nervousness seemed to have faded after managing to land a few hits on Clare. And while she had only hit the spunky boxer twice she had enough power behind those hits to make them count. If I can take a few of her tiny hits then hit her with one of my big ones, I bet I can win this! Heh, maybe even knock her out! Nanako surpressed a giggle as she thought these things.

With fresh confidence flwoing through her Nanako would approach Clare again for another go. Her teal covered fists raisedat the ready she would begin to throw her sloppy but powerful punches at Clare, all of them aimed for her face. She would throw mostly rights, favouring her stronger arm. But then after many of those she would try to surprise Clare with a left to her jaw.

Clare focused this time. She had no intention of getting hit again. She noticed that Nanako was gaining confidence, a good thing and a bad thing. She came out swinging, clearly she was trying to box back now. Her inexperience showed, but the girl knew how to throw a hard punch, even if it was sloppy. Clare didn't want to be seen as a weak competitor. She was unsure how a loss would make her look. Considering the tremendous size advantage, it was probably doubted that she'd win to begin with. But she'd made it obvious she was the better boxer. She willed herself to not think about loss. She had little time to anyways. The horde of punches began, they were wild, but her form and lack of speed had given her away. Clare nimbly danced to the left of the first punch, underneath several of them, and backing up at the left. She was focused now, she was going to force her opponent to tire herself out, she knew how easy it was for emotions to change in a match. If she could frustrate her now, Clare assumed her punches would come at a faster rate, and they'd be a bit harder, that'd make her tired even quicker. She wasn't going to be able to do any real damage to her opponent unless she could work her body enough to get her to lower he head instead.

Clare let her opponents punch whiz past her, then came in with a vengeance. The lithe Irish girl moved back in, executing the same flawless punches as before, but now they were aimed with purpose. Left and right hands firing rapidly, the velocity alone would do damage assuming she landed, as both fists locked on to her opponents left rib.

Despite Nanako's many punches, if you could even call them that with her poor technique, none of them managed to sucessfully connect with her agile opponant. The tall beauty threw a barrage of rights in rapid sucession, and a left or two, but every time Clare was able to dance around her blows with ease. Strain and frustration began to show on Nanako's face as she continued, growing tired the longer she continued hitting nothing but air. "Stay - huff - still!" Nanako whined, starting to think that maybe she had jumped the gun in thinking she could win this.

Then Clare came at her when she threw her last, and pain exploded in her ribs. "UGH!" Nanako grunted, and then more lightning fast jabs slammed into her tall body. It hurt quite a bit, and Clare continued to pummel her there, Nanako's face twisting up in pain. Nanako would then attemot to attack Clare yet again, this time swining a right in a wide arc at Clare, though with her fatigue it would be even slower than before.

Clare continued forward, she could tell it would take a lot to even knock Nanako down, let alone out. But for now she was content to beat on her fatigued opponent, exploiting the opening. Clare threw her arms up in defense, against her better judgement. She should have slipped the punch, instead, she found her own gloves getting pushed into her face. Even though she was tired, Nanako still appeared to be immensely powerful. Clare wasn't hindered long by the blocked punch, as she moved right back in and threw a right, left, right, chain of wide hooks to each of Nanako's ribs, it would take some time, but Clare was sure if she punched the same areas repeatedly she'd eventually knock the towering beauty down.

"UGH! Hurk! Ah!" Nanako contiued to groan as she was punched in her body over and over by the speedy Clare. Her own punch, while strong lacked the speed necessary to break through the smller boxer's defenses. All it did for her was leave her open to more blows to her sides, which were starting to wear on poor Nanako. At first she could take them, but as the hits began to build up in speed and number Nanako was starting to become overwhelmed.

Finally, after a virtual barrage had been poured into her body, Nanako's legs would finally give out from under her, and with a groan she would fall to her hands and knees before Clare. The tall beauty coughed a little from the pain in her ribs, which were probably a good shade of purple underneath her white one-peice. With Nanako down, the crowd cheered loudly as they had just watched the diminuitive Clare take down a virtual amazon.

Clare looked around briefly, a bit shocked she'd managed to score a knockdown in the first round. She moved to a neutral corner and let the official move in to count. She was amazed that she was capable of bringing the big girl down, considering the fact that Nanako was much more muscular and looked quite tough. Clare was very humble about her abilities, but even she was proud of herself. She didn't gloat however. It was hard to imagine that the body punches would be enough to stop her monolith of an opponent. By now, Clare had worked up a decent sweat, shining underneath the bright light.

She would simply watch the count and see when or if Nanako would pick herself up.

Nanako moaned in pain from where she lay on her hands and knees, her long black hair falling draped over her shoulders. This boxing match was really wearing on her. Nanako's body could take a good deal of punishment, but even she had her limits. Taking that many rib shots would be difficult for anyone, and Nanako never really had to be able to take a punch before.

"One.....two....three..." nanako would soon become aware of the ref gitl starting to count her out. Nanako wasn't too familiar with the rules of boxing but she remebered something about a tend count for a bixer to be declared the winner. Nanako clenched her teeth, and with a grunt of effort Nanako would begin to push her way to her feet, beating the count as the ref-girl neared five.

"I-I'm not done yet," Nanako whispered, raising her gloves at the ready again.

Clare nodded, the same warm expression on her face as before, she was glad to see her opponent get up. Clare watched as the bigger girl got to her feet. She almost dreaded dealing with her again, as she had expended a good deal of energy on punching to get her down. She still had some energy left, she was ready to go the minute the referee let her go back to it. This time she wanted to shock Nanako.She came right at her when she stood ready, Clare began throwing punches up high. Despite her good aim, the was sloppy for her, there was a possibility she would miss her head which was a bit out of reach. Clare had already made her skill known, so she felt good with the way things wer going. She attempted two high right jabs and a left hook that required her to utilize tippy-toes.

Nanako's side was still hurting quite a bit, but she bore through it in order to stand again. After that last exchange all of Nanako's confidence seemed to go flying out the window. If someone as small as Clare could take her ddown with a couple of well placed body blows, then what chance did she really have? Nanako just hoped that her unease didn;t show on her face. The last thing she needed was to let her smaller opponant know that she was scared of her.

When Clare came in again, Nanako tried to prepare herself, but would be caught off guard when Clar went for her face, since all of her punches so far had been body blows. "Ugh!" Nanako groaned in pain, the jobs snapping her head back wiht each one, and the hook would cause her to sumble backwards. It was clear those last few blows had stunned her, leaving her open for another assault.
