History: Blair’s great-grandparents immigrated to Canada from Hong Kong in the years following World War I, and her family has lived in Vancouver ever since. Growing up, she was always a quiet girl, dedicated to her own pursuits and rarely reaching out to anyone. The only person she shared any close bond with was her older brother Martin, who she looked up to and admired, but when he left Vancouver to go to college, she was left on her own.

She also found herself stuck in life when she realized that she didn’t really have any plans for her future, preferring mainly to live day to day. Despite pressure from her parents as she grew older to start applying to colleges and find a major, she could never really find anything she felt she fit in. However, that changed when she discovered Muay Thai.

Blair took up training in the style when she found it offered at a gym she went to, and when she entered in the class on a whim, she discovered it spoke to her. While it helped her stay in shape, as she’d been drawn to in the first place, it also required her keen attention and careful thought, which appealed to her hyper-vigilant, analytical side. Furthermore, it gave her a rush like few things in her life ever had, and she was eager to pursue it. She kept going back to her classes, and soon came to dominate everyone else in her class. Blair got so good that her instructor told her that she had great potential competing in the sport, and directed her to seek further training from more experienced teachers.

While she might have only come to Muay Thai as a fitness routine, it had become her purpose in life, and she truly felt she had found her calling, a place she could flourish in. She had been bullied as a child for being “foreign” (despite being born in Canada), but through martial arts she was able to attain success purely through her own merits and prove herself capable no matter what anyone thought. She came to train in earnest, learning the intricacies of Muay Thai as a martial art, and soon, she was going on to competing in tournaments, where she boasted an undefeated record. After dominating the scene in Canada, she went off to fight in Japan and Thailand, picking up new skills along the way.

It was soon that her eyes began to turn to mixed martial arts, where her newfound abilities could serve her well. While in Japan, she began training in judo to learn more about grappling and applying holds, and when she returned to Canada she was quick to enter herself in some MMA tournaments and shows. Once again, she demonstrated her talent and quickly rose to the top, taking down all the competition in her way. It was around this time that she was dubbed the Little Dragon of Muay Thai, owing to her smaller stature, Chinese heritage, and ferocity in combat.

However, Blair’s reign wouldn’t last forever. Although she was still doing well in MMA, her undefeated streak would soon be broken, and not long after, she suffered a broken nose in a heated Muay Thai match that sidelined her from the action. These came as two blows to her pride in quick succession, and they left her struggling with her thoughts of where to go next. She decided then that she had done all she could for the sport and, rather than hold out for a comeback, she left the competition behind, leaving the next generation of athletes to take her place.

And yet, she couldn’t help but feel like she was leaving something behind, too. Blair found herself feeling so much more empty when she wasn’t competing, and she needed to get herself back into the action. By the time she healed, she felt ready to rise to the challenge once again, but the thought of returning to Muay Thai or MMA felt wrong; there was a mental block in place keeping her from returning to a sport she’d already left behind. Instead, her mind turned to a new avenue - professional wrestling. Using the same abilities she had learned through other martial arts, Blair began touring different promotions throughout North America. When, once again, her luck ran out there, she went to seek new venues in Japan, a journey that brought her to AFW - where she saw that she had an opportunity in the Momentum brand.

Personality: Blair is a very driven person, and once she does something she tends not to stop until she’s satisfied. She’s also a perfectionist, a fact that has shaped the many ups and downs in her career - if she can’t do something or achieve success just the way she wants it, she’s more likely to give up than to try again. To mitigate that, she genuinely is good at what she does, and her dedication leads to intensive training; she’s been known to spend long hours of the day perfecting a single strike, and she doesn’t consider it a success unless she can achieve the exact results she wants when she wants to. While such a meticulous outlook does lend itself to results, it also weighs on her sense of personal self-worth, and she can be harshly critical of herself. She’s a loner and she doesn’t speak to others much, preferring to achieve success on her own and follow her own path. This can make her come off as rude or dismissive, but as she sees it, she isn’t in AFW to make friends, but to achieve her own personal pursuits. She takes great pride in her ability and her record, and she isn’t one to make light of it. Outside the ring, though, she’s still able to warm up to those she trusts, but there’s a small circle of people she’s seen fit to go drinking with.

Trivia:
  • The ribbon she wears around her arm is a pra jiad, an armband traditionally worn by Muay Thai fighters. She was given it by her teacher when she was training in Thailand, and she wears it to every match she goes into since.
  • Blair is a massive fan of The Simpsons and trained herself to recite many of the jokes by heart.
  • She has a tattoo of a Chinese dragon on the back of her right shoulder. The characters underneath say “Little Dragon.”
  • Blair prefers one-piece swimsuits, but she did buy a bikini upon signing to AFW at the recommendation of her talent agent “in case it becomes necessary.”
  • When she started wrestling, Blair insisted on wrestling barefoot as she did with MMA and Muay Thai because it was what she was used to. She finally started wearing boots when she broke a toe in a match, but she’ll take them off in a particularly heated match if she isn’t holding back.
  • Owing to her experiences growing up, Blair is an outspoken advocate for anti-bullying causes.
  • After college, her brother joined a band and mainly tours the Pacific Northwest. Blair hasn't had much contact with him, owing to their schedules.

Fighting Style: Compared to most wrestlers, Blair’s style is a bit of an enigma. She shows heavy influences of her training in Muay Thai, adopting its stances and tactics - she is a striker first and foremost, keeping a balanced posture and using strong and strategically placed punches, kicks, knees, and elbows to hammer her opponents. She also makes use of clinching techniques, getting in close range to control her opponents and provide a better place to attack. In transitioning to MMA and wrestling, she also adopted judo moves into her arsenal, making use of counters and throws that use her opponents’ momentum against them; however, her focus is still on striking and she’s weaker when it comes to grappling and holds, a fact that has been used against her. She prefers to stay on her feet, and if taken to the ground, her typical strategy is to stay out of trouble and to get back up as soon as she can. Furthermore, her smaller frame makes her quick and agile, but on the other side of the coin, she can be worn down easily as she takes damage, preferring to dodge rather than to tank her hits. While some might call her style flawed, Blair insists that the benefits outweigh the pitfalls, and that she can be just as effective in the squared circle as she was in the octagon if she plays her cards right.

Favored Match Types: Blair doesn’t have many specific preferences when it comes to stipulations. With her prideful spirit, she prefers that anyone she’s facing takes things as seriously as she does, and she’s most able to thrive if it’s a more traditional type of match, particularly a standard or knockout match, which are most conducive to her style. Submissions are more outside her comfort zone, and she’s far less familiar with hardcore matches or other inventions of pro wrestling. That isn’t to say she wouldn’t do it, however.
