Family Matters

Shad noticed her looks and gave a friendly wave back at her, knowing from that look that he was neither trusted nor liked...good instincts.

Rebecca laughed again at her bravado. "Is that so? Well then, come and show me how you will do just that." With a battlecry she charged in, looking to spear Makie as hard as she could, this was no longer a simple spar, this was a test for both of them, a test of wills, a test she was determined to pass. After all, how often could you say you got the chance to test yourself against the best?

The guy who had been watching them the whole time simply responded by giving her a sleazy grin, and a wave back. The very actions set Makie on edge: even though she was not facing Shad at the moment, she had the weirdest instinct that he was someone to be wary of, especially in the ring.

Her attention was brought back to Rebecca, however, who came charging right at her. Cursing in alarm, Makie tried to sidestep, hoping to dodge Rebecca's spear while at the same time kicking up, hoping to drive her knee hard into the other girl's midsection!

It was a good thing she moved when she did. Any later and she would have been squished by the tall Redhead, even so, Rebecca still felt that she had at least clipped the girl despite taking a hard knee to the gut. She went down in the corner but almost immediately got back up again, smiling as she rubbed her stomach where she had been struck. "That's quite the kick you have, were I nor so tough I would be gasping for air right now."

Makie watched as the other girl backed off, huffing with breath after taking that knee to the stomach. Despite that, though, Rebecca was still in a visibly cheery mood, and Makie repaid that attitude with a smile of her own. "Just wait," she said, following after Rebecca, "I'll be sure to leave you gasping before we're done here."

Grabbing a hold of Rebecca's arm, she would try to whip the other girl across the ring. The moment Rebecca rebounded, Makie would fake a clothesline, before leaping up, trying to latch her legs around Rebecca's head and flip her down hard to the mat!

It was little spars and fights like this that reminded Rebecca why she has stuck around in this business for over 10 years. There were certainly fights that were more hectic or more emotionally and physically demanding, ones that pushed her to the edge of her limits. But it was the little spars like these eith nothing on the line and no antagonism between the fighters that Rebecca enjoyed. After all these were the fights that crested friendships.

As her new friend threw her across the ring, she saw the clothesline coming and raised herself a little higher and puffed her chest, intending to barrel right through the attack. She was then shown she had assumed wrong when the smaller girl, easily tossed her to the middle of yhe ring where she landed awkwardly on her back but that did not stop her from trying to rise and again meet Makie head on.

Makie's ruse worked like a charm: Rebecca had clearly been anticipating a clothesline, and was bracing herself as such. So it was that Makie instead managed to latch her legs around Rebecca's head. She savoured the redhead's look of surprise before she arched back, throwing the taller girl over her and sending her crashing onto her back! She watched as the French girl went sprawing into the center of the ring...though to her credit, Rebecca began to roll herself back up to her feet, recovering quite quickly.

Makie didn't waste any time then, breaking into a run. Dashing past Rebecca, she bounced off the ropes and came rebounding at Rebecca from behind as she tried to get back up. If Rebecca's back was turned to her, then Makie would try to grab her head and ram her face first into the mat with a bulldog; otherwise, she would leap forward, try to grab the back of her head, and drop backwards, hoping to bring her knees up into Rebecca's chest to knock the air out of her!

All told the first attack hadn't done too much damage to the tall Redhead, as tanky as she was, the blow was not nearly enough to do more than know her onto her back. The bulldog she took was a different matter however. There are just some places that you can't fortify, and your face is one of them. So down she went, impacting on the mat and holding her face as she waiting those few seconds for the pain to fade. Once it dies she would attempt once again to rise to her feet and try to catch the slippery makie

Makie's last hit had done a real number on the redhead: the way Rebecca was now rolling in pain on the mat told her that she had left her out of it for several vital seconds. The thought occurred to Makie that perhaps she had gone a little too far with that last blow. Even if that was true, she thought to herself, Rebecca had hardly been holding back against her either. Rebecca had been treating Makie as a serious opponent from the very start of this spar, so it was only fair that she do the same.

Taking a deep breath, Makie ran forwards, running past Rebecca as she tried to get back up, and bouncing off the ropes. As she came rebounding back, she would leap forwards, grabbing for Rebecca's arm while trying to latch her legs around her head, hoping to take her down to the mat, trapping her arm under her armpit while squeezing her in a tight headscissor!

As Rebecca rose to a crouch, Marie again slipped around her defense and after a bit of acrobaticness slipped her legs around Rebecca neck for a tight headscissors. Serious was of course the only Way the crimson warrior took any fight so she was happy to see the other treating this in a similar manner. That though still left an issue of strong legs slowly squeezing the air out of her. With few options left she decided to go for broke and put it all on the table. With one arm available to her she used it to get her legs under her and with a surge of adrenaline and strength would try to get to her feet WITH Makie still clinging to her head by those legs and holding her arm. It was a risk since it both left her open and took a lot out of her, but when facing a champion...you needed to risk it all.

Makie grinned as she now had Rebecca's head trapped between her legs, squeezing relentlessly at the French girl's skull even as she kept her arm trapped. The muffled sounds Rebecca was making told Makie that her attack was working, and that she was slowly but surely wearing her down. She responsed by rubbing her legs together, grinding Rebecca's head between them to add to her discomfort.

And then, to Makie's surprise, Rebecca pressed her free arm to the mat, then got her knees under her. Even as Makie continued to squeeze into her, Rebecca, demonstrating strength that Makie had had no idea she even had, began to stand back up even while in the head scissor! Alarmed, Makie found herself lying horizintally against Rebecca, still held upright by her scissor and by the grip on the girl's arm. Knowing she was in a precaious position, Makie shifted her weight suddenly, hoping to use her grip on Rebecca's arm and left to flip her hard onto her back!
