Alaina Sanders vs. Kozue Kaburagi - Long Time, No See

Phew. Still alive. Barely, but still alive.

It didn’t much feel that way at the moment, though. It felt like Kozue had been hit by a goddamn bulldozer, her body pulverized into the canvas. Everything ached, head to toe, and she was swimming in a sea of stars. That didn’t mean things were hopeless, though - she just needed to concentrate. Focus. Take deep breaths, clear her mind, and…

...wait, why was the crowd cheering?

Kozue opened her eyes and found the immediate answer to that silent question: The Amazon was taking flight. It was a high, brilliant path, an arc through the sky that wound up with her coming up, over and down, right on Kozue’s prone body. All she could do was brace for the impact, and what an impact it was, crashing down with ring-shaking force and leaving her to jackknife underneath her foe, going into a fit of spasms before she came back down to a rest.

Alaina knew she wasn't the speediest woman in the ring, but for someone her size all her training had given her a level of agility unexpected from most women of similar size. The amazon came down on top of Kozue and knew that she had added to the pain of Kozue. Making her opponent hurt for the sake of hurting wasn't her style, but Alaina felt as though she had to really hammer into Kozue to emerge victorious.

Instead of staying on top of Kozue for a pin Alaina would rise and pull Kozue with her, shoving her head between the legs of Alaina. She hoped Kozue was so out of it that she couldn't counter what was coming. Alaina grabbed Kozue around the waist, lifting her up as the crowd realized that Alaina was going to try to send her crashing to the mat with an amabomb!

Kozue’s body was going into a full on revolt now, wanting little more than to just lay down, rest, and call it an evening. She could understand the sentiment - she’d already taken a beating and a half more than most women did from the Amazon. She was still alive, but whoof, it felt like she’d been hit by a tank. She’d seen this woman in action so many times, but there was a world of difference from watching her bulldoze opponents and being on the receiving end. So much power, so much strength, and she just [i]kept coming.[/color]

Impressive. Freaky.

Kozue had little time to process it all, though, as she found herself between Alaina’s legs a moment later, shoved in all-too familiar position. She was hoisted up with ease as the crowd roared, knowing full well what was potentially coming next: The Amabomb. The end.

”Nope! Fuck no!” Kozue gave a defiant yell and wrapped her legs around Alaina’s head at the apex, squeezing tight in a headscissor. At the same time, she threw frantic elbows in her foe’s face, wailing away, trying to bring her down before she could complete the move.

One thing that never changed about Kozue even though she added significantly to her move set was that she really had no quit in her. That is why Alaina was attempting an amabomb in the first place. However Kozue was finding ways to fight back that Alaina didn't expect, as she was thinking Kozue was going to try a hurricanrana if anything. Now Alaina guarding against that had her leaning back a bit more than usual.... and now that was working against her thanks to her gritty, crafty opponent!

Alaina choked out a howl of anguish as Kozue wrapped her legs tight as the elbows began smashing into the face of the amazon!  She stumbled back, staggering and swaying as Kozue fought back!  Alaina swung her fists into Kozue's side but it was token resistance as she fell backward, landing hard on her back a Kozue hammered into her to halt the amabomb in its tracks!  Alaina kicked the canvas in pain, trying to shove Kozue off her so she could cradle her head in her arms.

Kozue was hurting, she was winded, but more than anything, she was desperate. She could see the end coming fast, and knew there wouldn’t be anything she could do to stop it if she let this go through. There was no surviving Alaina’s finishing move. She wouldn’t have been able to take it if she was at 100%, and she was leagues away from that at the moment.

So she did what came natural - she fought and she fought and she fought until something happened. Fuck it, it worked.

Alaina collapsed and brought them both down. It wasn’t anywhere near as bad as it could’ve been if the move went off without a hitch, but it was still far from a good time. Kozue came down hard on her side and sat up fast, groaning as she caressed her aching sides. As much as she wanted to take the time to capitalize on the small opening, she didn’t have the luxury. The first priority was standing up.

She reached out, grabbed hold of the ropes, and used them for support as she tried to force her way up, pulling her way rung by rung.

Alaina rolled over, staggering her way up to her feet as she saw Kozue was rising up using the ropes. Alaina could not let her build momentum again. She had to do something. She opted to keep it simple trying her best to hopefully act and prevent another opening for Kozue to capitalize on.

The amazon lumbered forward, moving in while swinging her fists back looking to try to hammer Kozue with a couple hard body punches to try to stun the ninja to keep her in place before following up with an uppercut to the jaw while she was against the ropes! The ropes were Kozue's ticket to her feet but Alaina was banking on using the ropes herself to hopefully keep the speedy Kozue contained, something easier said than done.

Okay. Working her way up. Just a little more. There we go. One rung, then the other, there we go.

Kozue was on her way up, bit by bit, using the ropes as best as she could to maintain a stable footing. She looked over to see if Alaina had similar ideas, and, sure enough, the Amazon was on the same path, rising up and casting her long shadow. Kind of fucking intimidating, really.

A hard shot. Kozue gasped and lurched forward, eyes wide, as she took Alaina’s blow. Surprised that she could still strike and that she could still do it with that much power. Another headseeker of a blow came after that, and the uppercut was the final straw - she went spiraling, whipped around and fell to her knees near the center of the ring. Still moving, still trying to get to her feet, but not having an easy time of it.

Alaina saw Kozye struggling up and Alaina decided to keep trying to take it to her. Every movement cause Alaina a good deal of pain as the beating Kozue gave her was catching up despite the adrenaline rush. To day that Alaina's movement was slow was an understatement.

She lurched after Kozue trying to half jump, half slide I to her aiming a dropkick at her chest before she could rise. The pain from earlier was sapping Alaina making her run out of steam quickly!

”Kozue!” She could hear the referee nearby, her voice coming in all wobbly and distorted. ”Kozue, can you continue?”

Ugh. The referee was asking if she wanted to quit the match. That was a bad sign if there ever was one.

For the record, no, she didn’t want to quit the match, though her body had a different opinion on things. It seemed very much about the idea of giving up, and it felt like it was on the verge of doing it regardless of her opinion on the matter. She pushed past it, pushed her way up, forced her muscles to move, but it was a slow, sluggish process.

And then Alaina dropkicked her. No, that didn’t help.

Kozue cried out as she was sent flopping away, coming to a rest back in the middle of the ring. Eyes shut tight, wincing in intense pain, she managed a wheezing laugh. ”Hey, uh...timeout?”

Alaina hit the dropkick and landed on her side near Kozue, rolling onto her back. Alaina's chest heaved as she drew breath, trying to keep herself going. However she herself was going to be very slow to rise. "You... you never stopped when I was reeling...." Alaina answered as she grit her teeth, slowly struggling to get up herself.

Alaina had tried a dragon sleeper earlier, and wanted to slow things down while still keeping on top of Kozue. Alaina grabbed hold of one of Kozue's arms pulling it up before sitting behind her wrapping her legs around Kozue's outstretched arm as well as her head to try to lock in a triangle hold! Alaina squeezed as tight as she could with her legs looking to really put Kozue in a bad spot! "So... do YOU want to tap out now?" Alaina asked, hearkening back to when Kozue had her in a rough submission that had nearly forced a red-faced Alaina to submit!
