Scarlet Farley vs. Kozue Kaburagi - Kunais and Cutlasses

It didn’t feel like Kozue’s strikes were doing much, if anything, at all to her behemoth of an opponent. They landed. Solid connection. Over and over. But it was like hitting iron covered in flesh. There was little give, and each impact didn't seem to sink nearly as deep as she knew it should. Negative impacts, each one, no real damage taken.

It must’ve done something of note, though, because Scarlet did let her go shortly after, not wringing as much out of the move as she could’ve. Instead, she dumped Kozue to the floor - after wrenching the hold once more, of course - and left her flopping about on the canvas, like a fish on the deck. Her spine was on fire, every moment bringing searing pain with it, but she fought past the pain to roll over onto her hands and knees, steadily pushing her way back up as Scarlet spoke. She couldn’t afford to stay down for long. Not with her.

”My name...”

She grunted and gasped, as she brought one foot onto the floor and was attempting to get the other one in, when she saw the kick coming her way at full steam. There wasn’t anything she could do to stop, not at this range, not with the power Scarlet undoubtedly had behind it. But that didn’t mean she was out of options.

Instead of taking the kick in her side, she spun on her knee and turned to face it. That meant she wound up getting a heel in the gut instead, which wasn’t a ball of fun, either, and drove the wind clean out of her. But it also meant that she was able to wrap arms around the leg and hold Scarlet by the calves, an anchor that saved her from flying out of the ring.

”...is Kozue.”

With that, she threw her body to the side in a wild spin while she gripped the leg tight, attempt to send her foe rolling with a dragon screw.leg whip. It was a move she’d used many times, but never with someone so damn large. Not the best time to experiment, but she had few options.

The Captain followed through with her kick, intending to send Kozue as far as humanly possible. She rarely held herself back, what was the point? A foe was only worthy if they could keep up with the best one had to offer after all. Anything less was a disservice to both parties. A soft thoughtful 'hm" escaped her lips at the added weight which clung so desperately to her leg. She had lifted the smaller woman off the ground, but her efforts to hold strong had allowed her to stay her ground, to a degree. How insistent this one was. Regardless of how little she seemed to accomplish, she persisted.

An admirable trait, one which the both of them shared. She didn't see herself in Kozue though. This desperate scramble, clawing and scratching to survive as she was, Scarlet never knew such a trial. She had from the onset been a force of nature, one that rarely saw failure.

"Ye be quite the little barnacle." She cracked a grin, about to say something more when Kozue twisted her body, driving a hooked arm under her knee. Scarley's brow knit at the action, far too late to react to stop her. Blunt force was one thing. She could take the strongest of punches and kicks for an hour on end and continue on. A hulking juggernaut that drank pain almost as readily as she did her rum. This however, was different.

The twist of her leg commanded she follow, not because Kozue was especially strong, but Scarlet's own body worked against her, bending and twisting with the momentum. In a rare state of affairs she was taken off the mat for a brief moment before she crashed to the ground with a might force that shook the ring from post to post. Her side impacted roughly, the momentum enough that she instinctively rolled onto her chest to plant her palms.

Her shoulders shook as she rasped at first, bursting into another thunderous laugh as she slowly began to rise. "If ye have any more tricks as these, best ye make use of them now lass." She would have to give this one to the little ninja. It was a rare thing to see her taken to the mat in one move, without being lifted off the ground by force. How long had it been since she last as made to crawl along a canvas? Too long. It felt as though their bout had finally begun in earnest. There was a hunger in her eyes, one that sought to pay this forward onto her foe tenfold.

The crowd had been simmering before, not sure what to make of this whole scenario. This was a debut match, a double debut match of sorts, and they were trained to look forward to those sort of things as hyped affairs. Adding on to that, this was a match with a well-known name making her Friction debut, so they expect something grand, big, flashy, exciting.

This was not that. The match had only barely begun, but already things were looking dire for Ninjette. A chokeslam less than two minutes? A cocky pin that managed a two-count? Not good signs. They weren’t even sure who to cheer for.

That changed, though, the moment that Kozue scored the Dragon Screw and sent Scarlet flying. Even though few of them were familiar with this woman’s career, even they knew this was a rare sight to behold, as their heroine gained her first real advantage of the match and put her down on the floor. Now there was only one real question: what would she do with it?

Good question. Kozue was in the midst of figuring that out, herself. Her first instinct was to go for a boston-crab or something like that, but she wasn’t sure how well she could lock that in with the height different. Camel Clutch? Doubtful. She was still aching too much for a high-flying move, too. By the time she got up for one, Scarlet would be on her feet.

Thinking fast, she decided to keep things simple. She let go of the leg, then rolled forward, somersaulting along Scarlet’s back, a quick move that brought her feet down on both sides of the pirate’s head as she sat on her shoulders. From there, it was just a matter of grabbing two handfuls of hair, yanking it up to expose her throat, wrapping her legs around her opponent’s neck, and tucking her shin behind the back of her knee and BAM! Figure-four headlock. No matter how tough this woman was, she still needed to breathe.

Kozue's speed hadn't accounted for much, no matter how fast on her feet, or the swiftness of her strikes The Captain had been able to go blow for blow with the girl. It didn't take a bright might to know doing so with a foe as large as Scarlet was vastly in the giant's favor. This was something different, the first time the speedy woman had been able to truly capitalize on her in a meaningful way.

She could feel her up along her back for but a moment before the girl had perched herself behind her, coiling her legs around The Captian's throat. The forceful pull of her large brad was met with a grin, more excitement laced her features than dread. It was refreshing to be on the ropes, for as short a time as that may be. Kozue's legs cinching around her throat like a hangman's noose. The grip was biting, but without the snap of the fall to hang her by, it wasn't enough to keep her down.

Scarlet grit her teeth as the American Ninja's hold constricted her throat, neck tense to her thighs, providing far more resistance to her attempts to dig the hold in. She planted one boot, pushing off the ground with her palms to bring herself upright, legs staggered to maintain her balance to thwart attempts Kozue might have to jostle her from behind to shake her foothold. She twisted violently from side to side as she was ridden like a wild stallion. She wouldn't, couldn't be broken however. her massive hands came up to clamp themselves down around Kozue's shin and knee, holding her down so she could not move from the hold even if she tried. her fingers sinking into her flesh with a crushing grip which was pain enough on its own.

With slow lumbering steps, each one deliberately placed to maintain her balance she trudged towards the corner. Each second the hold was locked in, her thrill for the moment was fading and her desire to hurt this woman grew. She couldn't talk or tease, all she had to offer was rasping choked laugh as she moved. Once she neared the corner, she braced herself, leaning back slightly before she threw herself forward with a powerful lunge, holding tightly onto Kozue she meant to whiplash the girl down turnbuckle. She didn't know what would hit, a head, a shoulder, the girl's entire body. It didn't matter to her. She wanted Kozue off of her, and was going to make sure she had no choice but to feel the consequences for her actions.

Kozue couldn't match Scarlet strength-wise overall, nowhere close, but if there was one thing she had gone for her? Leg strength. For the speed and agility her style required, she has to run every day, had to master squats and leg presses, and that led to a pair of powerful thighs. Granted, she’d never managed to knock anyone out with them before, but she was confident that she could.

Maybe. Probably. Hopefully. In theory.

She was squeezing hard, sure, but Scarlet had a ridiculously thick neck, and it didn’t feel like she was getting nearly as much give as she really should have been. Moreover, the woman was still stirring down there, resisting hard. In fact...was she standing up?

”No.” She cursed under her breath as Scarlet planted one foot on the floor, then another, pushing upwards. ”No! Fuck no!” She used one hand to pull back on the leg and the other to drop elbows into Scarlet’s head, drilling her again and again and again. ”Fucking pirate Terminator!” She grew more frantic as Scarlet marched towards the corner, making her destination clear. ”Go down, go the fuck-”

She was hurled forward, brought down face-first into the turnbuckle Scarlet’s fall. She managed to get her arms up in time to buffer the crash, and that was probably the main thing that kept her conscious. As it was, it was still a nasty fall, one that left her senseless as she came tumbling down on her back. Operating on reflex, she had enough mind to squirm about and get to a sitting position in the corner, but that was the best she could do for the moment.

Each elbow shot to her dome served to spread her movements towards the corner. her slow pace had been dictated by the thread Kozue might attempt to trash and toss her off balance. In the absence of this, it was smoother sailing in quick winds which brought her to the fated corner. She soaked blow after blow to her dome, each one rattling her mind. While many would argue Scarlet had a thick skull, it was relative to her size alone.

Unlike the rest of her impressive bulk, there was no natural padding of thick muscled tissue to act as a buffer between herself and a final component of her being. Bone to bone hurt even the mightiest of foes, Scarlet was no exception. After this match she would drown herself in alcohol to dull the lasting effects, by far the most effective thing Kozue had done to her all match.

By the time she had reached the turnbuckle she was fuming, eager to return each of the savage blows she had been forced to endure from the woman on her shoulders. Her face had reddened from combination to the elbows and legs wrapped tightly around her neck, trying to cut off the flow of air and blood. It was time to end this little piggyback right however. Lurching forward she had brought Kozue down hard upon the turnbuckles. The bounce of the smaller woman's body accompanied with the twang of the ropes was a satisfying start to where her vengeance would begin. She couldn't believe her luck, and Kozue's misfortune that she had managed to seal her fate by landing right into the corner where she had no place to run.

Already on a knee, her arms reached out to take the middle rope. Pulling in time with a kickoff of the mat, she threw her enormous weight forward, using her knee as a battering ram to lay siege to Kozue's face. Her body leaned back before she went in for a second, this one had no target, it simply existed as a bonus reward for Kozue having made the trip her so terrible.  She dropped back away from the Ninja, grasping the underside of the top rope. From here she stood, thrusting out her boot to bury her sole down at Kozue's throat, seeking to hold it there, using the ropes as leverage to further aid her in choking the life from the girl.

The Referee at this point hurried over and began counting the illegal hold, warning Scarlet she would call the match if she didn't break it.

Scarlet would milk the hold, had she initiated it, for all it was worth, waiting until the very last moment to break away, stepping back as the referee made her demands know. She raised hands innocently with a chuckle as she backed away. The official leaned in to check on Kozue's condition, making sure she was able to continue the fight.

Kozue’s head was swimming in pain as she rolled about in the corner, her body struggling to gain some sense of normalcy as it tried to cope with the sensory overload. More than anything, it sucked having to deal with the loss, the annoyance of having had Scarlet and screwing it up. For one, fleeting moment, Kozue had the big bitch right where she wanted, was on top, looked like she had a clear path to dealing some heavy damage. Nope! One move, and it was all over.

Now she was on her ass, sitting against the turnbuckle, looking up at Scarlet and seeing a reddened face. She couldn’t help but notice that Scarlet was a bit less chatty that she seemed typically inclined to be, which Kozue took to mean she was taking her more seriously. Which, being fair, was one of the big things she wanted to begin with, so that was good. On the other hand…

A knee to the nose. That would’ve sucked coming from Scarlet regardless, but the back of Kozue’s head smacked against the turnbuckle after the impact, doubling up on the damage and leaving her head all fuzzy. So fuzzy, in fact, that she didn't feel much of the followup to her forehead. A mixed blessing.

The boot against her neck, though? That she felt. It came down against her throat, pinned her there, and made Kozue glad she hadn’t asked for a hardcore match, like she’d be initially inclined to do. She couldn’t shake the impression that Scarlet would’ve dragged it out for much longer, if the referee hadn’t stopped her.

She slumped to the floor, choking and gasping, as the referee came over to check on her. ”Kozue?” She yelled, doing no favor to Kozue’s growing migraine. [b]”Kozue, can you continue?”[/color]

Her body was telling her a resounding no, but her mind was in control of her mouth, so it had the final say on the matter. ”Yeah.” She groggily grabbed the ropes and started to pull herself away. ”Yeah, I’m good.”

The referee didn’t seem to totally buy it, but all the same, she backed out of the way and let the match resume, giving space as Kozue continued to rise. ”That was nasty.” Kozue looked Scarlet’s way, as she rose with the turnbuckle at her back. The feeling was starting to return to her face, now. Enough for her to tell that her nose was bleeding. ”You a little mad, Kyla?”

There was something more satisfying about her knee boring into Kozue's face than there had any right to be. Using the ropes to propel herself had always been a bit of a guilty pleasure, its why she first started using a few high flying moves. It happened to help that it often caught people off guard, someone as large as her taking to the sky. Her second knee wasn't nearly as gratifying as the first. When she had finally locked in her boot choke, she make use of that time to vent out all of her frustration until she had returned to her natural state of rest. There were few things more cathartic than straggling the object of your hatred with your boot. Scarlet was a woman of simple tastes. When she finally released the hold she moved several steps back and waited, hands on her hips with an annoyed huff as she waited to be allowed back at Kozue.

"More of a bother than ye worth, lass." The Captain truly wished to nurse her battered cranium, but knew doing such a thing would present an open invitation for more attention to be paid to it. For now she stood back and waited the for referee to finish her check of Kozue.

Once the official had finally backed away, they hadn't help up their arms in a cross, the match would continue. Scarlet regarded Kozue with a small nod as she idly scratched the side of her nose with a pinky. She didn't acknowledge her former name. She saw no need to. Kyla was gone, legally and mentally cast away, hipped off to never be seen again. This girl seemed to like trying to riling her, though if an old dead name was all she had, she should be ready

The Captain tilted her head slightly as she slowly made her way over, a slow gait that carried with it an unspoken threat. There was no charge of flailing limbs, just the large woman closing in on Kozue without giving her something flashy to reverse. As she neared her arms went up and out, seeking to drive Kozue against the ropes and take hold of of the other girls shoulders. She full Kozue to be squirrelly when it came to actually assault her, so she was ready to be reactionary.

As Scarlet closed in, Kozue narrowed her eyes. Partly because her vision was still a little messed up and she was trying hard to see clearly, but also because she realized what was coming her way at a steady pace: pain. Lots of pain.

While a lot of people thought of her as a high-flying brawler - hell, that was how the AFW’s site described her, though her profile hadn’t been updated in ages - she liked to think her style was a bit more complex than that. There was a rhythm to her attacks, and it revolved around pissing enemies off, using that against them, distracting them, making them make mistakes and then taking over in the chaos.

That was sort of the problem, here, in a nutshell. Scarlet didn’t get distracted. She just focused and moved along.

If Kozue had been in fit shape, there would’ve been a dozen things she could’ve done about Scarlet’s approach. As it was, though, she didn’t have the energy for most of the options, so she was left with of the worst ones. Knowing that Scarlet’s grasp could spell doom, she had to force her body into action, whether it wanted to or not.

She reached out, grabbed the ropes on both sides of the turnbuckle for support, pulled her legs in and shot them both out at once, a desperate attack aimed at Scarlet’s chest. "Back...off!" She didn’t have much of a plan behind it, if she were being honest, and she was still too out of it to muster much power. She didn't care. Kozue just wanted this woman to keep her distance for a while, hoping to buy some extra time. She would need every second.

Arms raised at and the ready, she was prepared for just such an occasion as this. As Kazoe lifted herself up and pulled her body back, Scarlet's arms closed in defensively. While she never played baseball before in her life, in this moment she would have been quite the catcher. The thrust kick was met with solid resistance as it slapped against her waiting palms. Her arms bend away from the kick, cushioning the blow to a crawl, deadening its impact almost entirely.

With a quick flick of her wrists her hands slipped from the soles of Kozue's foot to her ankles, locking her massive hands around the the base of Kozue's shins. The Captain held her horizontal like this, stretched out so there was little she could actually do as a large grin formed upon her face. With a sudden leap backwards, she violently ripped at the American Ninja to yank her from the ropes to drop onto the ground.

She had remained holding the girl, retaining her control as her body shifted to hold the girl off to her side. Feet planted firmly, her body tensed as she summoned an inhuman amount of strength. She not only lifted the girl by her ankles, but swing her in a large deadly arc through the air as if she were a giant club, to slam her into the ground. From their she twisted, lurching to the side to send her back where she had come from in the same fashion, clubbing the girl upon the ground to lay her on her back. She released her there, throwing her head back to brush her long pink braid behind her.

If the American Ninja had taken all of this and still seemed to be moving, she would casually walk over to where she lay, stepping over the girl until she was between her legs. Without much though she would drop herself down, to attempt to straddle the girl's waist while using her impressive weight and size to come down on her abdomen hard. "I think it be time to send you off..." She mused, reaching out a finger to scratch the underside of Kozue's chin.
