Looking at the stat sheets displayed on the large TV in the locker rooms made Haruka sigh. She had been watching the AFW channel for the last twenty minutes or so while she changed, but her match had only been discussed for about the last five. Not too surprising, she wasn't anyone important or famous and Peggy's record didn't indicate any kind of incredible ability, but it still made her feel a little strange. She was already dressed up in her outfit, and was simply taking the remaining time to style her hair in the very intricate circle of braids she always wore.

Seeing the sheets on the screen, each one overlayed on a picture of either wrestler in their ring attire, made Haruka feel like she didn't have a chance. Peggy was taller, heavier, more experienced, and looking at the woman's heavy frame made her twitch a little, Haruka had no physical advantages at all here. The difference was only about twenty pounds or so, but it looked much bigger on the screen, or perhaps the blonde girl's nerves were making it look that way. She found a little comfort when she thought about all the matches she'd seen where a smaller, quicker girl had won out over a fighter much bigger than them, and it quickly disappeared again when she thought about all the ones where the smaller girls were thrown around like toys, including her own debut.

The people doing the commentary on the TV gave their opinions on the matchup and discussed how they thought the fight might go, which essentially boiled down to "She looks nice in that outfit, but Haruka is probably going to lose". As soon as she was done doing her hair, Haruka got up and switched the TV off rather than hear any more expert opinions. She drifted out of the changing rooms and wandered up to the entryway with her usual lazy, friendly expression on her face, and waited there for her signal to go out with excitement building in her chest. When it came (in the form of a young teenage intern waving at her), Haruka's music came with it and she stepped out into the arena to a loud cheer.

A big smile, and a big blush, washed over her face when she realised so many people were cheering for her, and she jogged down the ramp waving her hands out at either side, giving one or two extended hands a gentle slap, and finally slid into the ring. She was dressed up in a tight-fitting blue turtleneck leotard with some fancy-looking white markings drawn on the chest, collar and stomach, some simple knee & elbow pads in the same dark blue as her leotard, each with a thick yellow stripe on either side, a pair of white knee-high boots with blue laces, and two yellow thigh-high socks.

Haruka bounced up onto the middle rope on the far side of the ring and gave an energetic wave with both hands, getting another loud roar from the audience. The arena wasn't completely filled like it usually was, a fair number of people using this particular fight as a bathroom break or to stretch their legs while they waited for the bigger names to appear, but there were plenty enough people to make Haruka forget she was brand new to the sport, and hadn't actually fought a match in months. She dropped down onto the canvas once her music stopped, and stood in the middle of the ring to wait for Peggy's arrival.

Peggy was getting tired. Tired of her career being so up and down. She knew she could do it, but her performances had been inconsistent. She was wearing her green one piece swimsuit, gold kneepads, gold elbowpads, and boots which were green with some gold lining. Hopefully she would have the luck of the Irish on her side and get back on track tonight.

As her music played she came out and walked down the center of the ramp staring forward at Haruka. That was Peggy's target. She just had to destroy that target. Peggy jumped from the floor to the apron in one leap, then jumped over the ropes in her next bound! She held an arm up as she stood in the center of the ring, still glaring a hole through Haruka.

It didn't seem like such an enormous mismatch as she thought once her opponent had actually entered the ring. She knew Peggy was taller than herself, but had forgotten that the difference was only about an inch, which meant she barely had to look up at all to meet Peggy's eyes. The woman was noticeably bigger than herself though, her bigger belly contrasting against Haruka's flat and invisible abs.

"Hey there!" Haruka called out, trying to sound friendly and not nervous at the same time. Peggy looked really angry at something, but Haruka had no idea what, she only knew that it was kinda unsettling and might well mean the match would be more painful than she'd have liked.

Peggy smiled and nodded to Haruka, confused by the plain greeting. Peggy readied herself as the bell rang and she circled around Haruka, showing more speed and agility than most believed she had.

Peggy would try to lunge on and engage Haruka in a grapple to officially welcome her to an AFW ring! Peggy figured she xpuld overpower her easy enough...

Haruka hadn't fought a proper match in a long while, but she had still been training from time to time just incase something like this happened. She had been training with the expectation that she'd face another girl as light as herself, though, so her instincts weren't quite right.

Where she should've dodged to the side and kept out of Peggy's arms, instead she put a foot back to brace herself when the heavy-set Irish lady dashed in. Peggy got one arm around Haruka's waist, but the blonde managed to catch the other in one hand. When Peggy started to push against her, Haruka pushed back, for all the good it did. Her arm trembled with the strain of trying to match Peggy's strength, and it still wasn't enough. She quickly started to lose her balance, gasping and grunting with every attempt to steady herself.

Peggy had her close, and knew just what to do! She reared her leg back before bringing her knee crashing into Haruka over and over! "You are in my ring now little lady n' I don't give up control to anyone!" Peggy said, trying to accentuate her knee strikes with a psychological edge!

Peggy was confident before and felt even better at this juncture. Peggy wasn't going to let someone with less ring experience than her win the day.

Fighting Peggy's overwhelming power, and trying to get her feet into some semblance of a stable stance, both at the same time was pretty overwhelming for the blonde rookie. Both girls were grunting and gasping with every shove, but Haruka's voice seemed to be audible more often than Peggy's. If her coach hadn't been so insistent on training her flexibility and agility and balance as often as she had, Haruka might've fallen four times by now.

Eventually she managed to get her legs to move quicker than Peggy's, and got one behind herself with the other just slightly in front, between the bigger girl's thighs. She was in a stable position now, and could start thinking about pushing Peggy back. Could have started thinking, if Peggy hadn't suddenly rammed a knee up into the Japanese fighter's flat abs, undoing all of Haruka's progress in one quick motion.

Haruka let out a sound somewhere between a gag and a squeak, widened her eyes, and was quickly shoved down onto her back when she keeled over to protect her belly. Being on the ground with a bigger, stronger wrestler on top of you was the one scenario her mentor had constantly told her to avoid, but Haruka didn't see how she could have. She made eye contact with peggy for half a second, and then quickly shot an arm up to try and wrap it around the woman's head, hoping to drag it downwards into a headlock and then twist both herself and Peggy over, so she'd be on top. "Nnf! We'll see!"

"Mph... damn it!" Peggy groaned, feeling like she could have had a great position, but Haruka took it away! Now on the bottom Peggy decided the best way out of the headlock was with a lock of her own. She tried to wrap her legs around Haruki's torso and give it a squeeze! Peggy knew that wasn't going to feel good, however her head was at a weird angle and the headlock was taking a toll on her as well!

Groaning, Peggy used her free hands to take hard punches at Haruka's exposed sides, trying to add that to the pain of her body scissors to free up her airways once more!

Haruka gave Peggy's head as tight a squeeze as her slender arm would allow, trying to turn it slightly so that the bigger woman wouldn't be able to see anything besides the material of Haruka's leotard. She was bringing her knees up under her and getting ready to make an escape when Haruka felt Peggy's thick and strong thighs clamp around her little waist and begin to squeeze like a vice, getting a long "Nnnnf! Haaaah~" in response.

If that was all, it would have sucked but been manageable at least. But Peggy knew what she was doing, and Haruka felt her body jolt and stiffen when the big lady pounded a fist off the side of her abdomen. This made the blonde girl squirm and wriggle desperately against the scissorhold, eager to get free and put some distance between herself and Peggy. The panic made her forget she was still holding Peggy's head for a half second, using both hands to push against her opponent's hips without realising, and letting Peggy go free.

There it was, Peggy chance! She leaned back and uncooked her legs, moving her knees into her chest before thrusting out to mule kick Haruka off of her!

Peggy rolled backwards and rolled onto her feet, coming to a standing position and crouching as she gasped for breath. She opted to take a moment and recover, deciding that pressing while so short of breath was not a great idea.
