Re: The Wildest Dream: Ace vs Angel
Ace had not been stationary as the threat became clear, trying to get up to her feet when Angel did. However, she had taken more punishment in the match so far than Angel had, including a head rattling DDT that was still leaving her fuzzy, causing her to stumble as she tried to get to her feet.
Getting firmly to her feet on the second attempt, Ace had only taken a step towards the now fallen Angel, only to fail a spot check as the speedy Abattoir's boot smashed into the side of her head, Ace letting out a loud yelp as an explosion went off in her head, dropping her onto the mat where she rolled to her front, kicking her booted feet against the mat while holding her aching head in pain.

Re: The Wildest Dream: Ace vs Angel
Styx sighed, fully content as the boos came raining down. The AFW audience didn’t approve of their little show, it seemed, but she had to wonder why they thought she - or any of them - would care. They’d never been the popular ones. They’d never come out and shook their asses and danced to shitty pop songs before their matches. They’d never cared for approval before, why would they care now?
It was just a funny little thought, a blip in her mind while Abattoir laid out poor Ace. ”Nice kick.” Styx nodded towards her colleague - she’d been a little worried that her former/potential enemy wouldn’t get with the program, but so far things looked good. As smooth as you could really hope with someone like her.
She looked down at Ace, watching the former Entropy Champion squirm on the floor. Cute thing. Styx liked the hair. Little bit shrimpier than she looked on TV, though.
”So,” She reached down and grabbed Ace by the hair, lifting her up with one hand and forcing her to rise if she didn’t want her roots to get yanked out. Styx gave her a quick punch in the stomach as she rose, just to make sure she stayed in control. ”Silver Ace? River Styx.” Her tone was cordial. As cordial as a six-foot-tall wrecking machine could be. ”You know Abattoir, and the big girl beating on Angel is Jessica. Nice meeting you.”

Re: The Wildest Dream: Ace vs Angel
The sound of Styx's voice, her awful, awful voice, was enough motivation for Angel, to get her to try and get up again. No matter what happened here, if she could just shut that voice up, she would count it as a win for herself.
She rolled over to her belly, and started to push up to her hands and knees, lifting her head up, staring across the ring towards Styx. Her body was hurting, aching, and she wasn't even thinking about Jessica standing there nearby. Her only thoughts were of getting up and getting to Styx.

Re: The Wildest Dream: Ace vs Angel
Jessica rolled her eyes. Even if Jessica didn't have a goddamn baseball bat, not paying attention to her in a situation where she had an opportunity to bash your head in was an awful decision. River had filled her in a little bit as to the history between the anarchist and the Latina, but she found Angel's current actions to be completely unjustifiable. She raised her Lousiville slugger high above her head.
The morality of her actions escaped her. She had been royally hacked off ever since she had lost the Entropy title and was on the warpath. The fact that River could identify a reasonable target for her rage was all the better, and Angel was particularly loathsome to her. Pretty. Popular. Fair. The Violent Violet could not see any justice in the world as long as she did not have a championship belt across her waist. Angel had been a title holder before, the champion of the world, and Jessica could not tolerate that.
The bat came down. She wasn't aiming for anything now, not really. She was just trying to bring it down wherever it would land. Angel was going to have to learn her place. Beneath Jessica. "Nah," she said as she rejected Angel's bid to get up.

Re: The Wildest Dream: Ace vs Angel
Angel pushed up to her hands and knees, and the bat came down, and it came down hard.
Crack.
With a loud, echoing noise, the slugger slammed squarely into the spine of the unfocused Latina. Angel instantly dropped back to the mat, letting out a scream as she rolled back onto her side, reaching around to grab herself where the weapon had struck. She remembered Jessica's presence now, that much was for certain. There just wasn't much she could do about the woman.
As she laid there at Jessica's feet, wide-eyed and groaning in pain, she turned her head to the side, staring upwards towards the violet-haired brawler. "Fuck off..." she muttered through gritted teeth, trying to push herself back up again. "You and your damn bat..."

Re: The Wildest Dream: Ace vs Angel
This was rapidly turning into a perfect day.
After getting some much deserved payback and making a neat, new little friend with Silver Ace, Styx was basking the crowd’s undying discuss and hatred of, as they jeered her way, incensed at them beating up their favorite heroes for no reason.
Well, there was a reason. Styx just needed to elaborate on it.
”Microphone!” She called out, then looked off to the timekeeper’s table. The announcer was a little waif of a girl, couldn’t have been more than a year over 18, who looked like she was seriously reconsidering her career choices.
She held the microphone up, but didn’t move, as the crowd urged her to stay put. Styx, for her part, just smiled even wider and walked over to the edge. ”Look. Baby.” She leaned over the ropes and curled a finger at the girl. ”Just hand it over, okay? You absolutely don’t want me coming down there.”
The announcer saw the logic in Styx’s argument, and promptly handed it over.
”Right.” Styx nodded her way, then directioned her attention to the audience - not just the thousands in attendance, but the millions across the world.
”Sorry to interrupt your match, everybody, but me and my friends have to make a little announcement, and we wanted to make sure we had your attention. Are you watching? Listening? Focused?” She leaned forward and put a figner to her ear, as the boos intensified three-fold.
”We just came by to tell you that wrestlers like this,” She pointed towards Angel. ”And this.” She stepped over and gave Ace a kick in the side. ”Are done. See, ever since I got here, I’ve watched people like these two get turned into the company’s stars. They’re on the posters, they’re in the main events, they’re given the big opportunities. Women like us, though? We’re pushed to the back. Maybe we’re not cute enough or we don’t kiss the right asses or we don’t do fucking bikini contests…”
Styx reeled back and gave Ace a particularly hard kick in the side for that one.
”But.” She turned back to the audience and straightened up. ”Those days are over. We’re sick of waiting in the back of the line. We’re sick of getting passed over by the same damn people. This place is long overdue for an overhaul, and if the bosses are too tired or stupid or both to do it, we’ll make it happen.”
”We,” Styx raised her fist into the air. ”Are WAR. And until we get what we want, this is just going to keep happening.”
There, done. Styx dropped the microphone and sighed - speeches weren’t her specialty, but she thought she’d done a decent job. Concise. Simple. Got to the point, and judging from the hate coming her way, it had gotten through.
A visual aid wouldn’t hurt, though.
Styx looked over shoulder to Abattoir, then down at Ace. Cute little Ace. Loveable Ace. Sweet, sweet Ace. Former champion. Idol of millions.
”Stand her up.”

Re: The Wildest Dream: Ace vs Angel
Abattoir's eyes were expressionless as Styx delivered their manifesto. She was already difficult to read, thanks to the mask, but at the moment it was basically impossible to tell what she was thinking.
Truthfully, even Abattoir wasn't totally sure what she was thinking. There was a great deal of conflicting emotions running through her (admittedly somewhat deranged) brain at the moment, and as events progressed she seemed almost paralyzed with indecision - right up until Styx paused in front of her and barked an order.
The ram had touched the wall. There was no turning back.
Leaning down, the nak muay gripped Ace under both arms and lifted her up to her feet - sort of like a full nelson, but mainly just designed to keep her upright and in place. "Shhhhh," she whispered in the other girl's ear, atonal and rough. Possibly the least comforting sound in the world.

Re: The Wildest Dream: Ace vs Angel
Ace's attempts to get back to her feet were met with hard kicks to her side, gasps forced out of her as she was brought back down, coughing and trying to get her breath.
While she missed some of what Styx had to say, what with gasping and trying to get her breath back and deal with the fuzzness in her head after that Mafia kick and all, Ace still understood enough of what Styx was blathering about to know her and Angel were in big trouble, the face painted fighter struggling as Abattoir pulled her up to her feet and tried to shush her, Ace struggling with the limited arm movement, trying to kick wildly.
"G-get the fuck off me!"

Re: The Wildest Dream: Ace vs Angel
Styx let Ace struggle and enjoyed the sight until she got tired of it. This took all of about three seconds.
She lunged forward and wrapped her hands around Ace’s scrawny neck, getting a good squeeze on. Her hands encircled all of it, closed in tight, powered down and closed out her windpipe with a deadly vise.
Then she started lifting.
With relatively little effort, Styx hoisted Silver Ace up and turned her around, throttling her all the way. She kept her high, letting her dangle for a moment, delaying the pain…
She pushed forward, she dropped flat on her butt, and brought the former champion crashing into the mat with a thunderous Chokebomb, making the entire ring quake on impact.

Re: The Wildest Dream: Ace vs Angel
Jessica dimly wondered what it was like a hundred miles outside of the Trinity site where they tested the A-bomb. You weren't quite on top of it, but it was still the center of attention. Maybe a feeling that something that could change the world just happened not so far from you. The tremors on the ground would reach you and there was perhaps a flashing light in the distance. It must have been very similar to what Jessica was feeling now. Ace was just taken down with authority and the whole crowd seemed dismayed, to say the least.
A snicker curled Jessica's upper lip. That was the sort of raw power and sheer dominating violence that she had come to appreciate from River. The girl was a machine of sex and blood and might and Jessica loved every second she spent with her. There was never any telling what would happen next.
The Latina trying to get her distance might have been seen as heroic in some circles, but Jessica recognized it for what it truly was. Pathetic. Almost funny, really. "Me and my damn bat." The Violent Violet lifted it over her head as if it was Excalibur and brought it down one more time. The wood made a sound as it sliced through the air and Jessica hoped it would make a louder sound as it hit Angel's back once again.
