Saturday Night Super Spar: The Outsiders vs Sonic Boom

A smack echoed through the room as Julia’s boot struck against Adrian’s stomach and doubled the hardcore champ over. Immediately the cowgirl seized the opening she’d created by wrapping her arms around Adrian’s head and attempting to flip her forward onto her butt with a quick snapmare.

And if that worked the blonde would immediately fire off like a bullet into the ropes to send herself bounding right back toward the brunette, before dropping down and throwing both boots right at the side of Adrian’s head in hopes of nailing her with a sliding dropkick!

Damn Julia was fast, it was like fighting Taylor all over again. Only without the constant back and forth bitching and the general bad blood... so nothing like Taylor really. Either way Adrian ended up being flipped onto her butt with a small bump, wincing as she watched the Cowgirl Luchadora zoom off to the ropes, no doubt with bad intentions for the Hardcore Champion.

Trying to time it right, Adrian rolled away from the charging masked wrestler, not wanting any part of Julia's plan to kick the former cosplayer in the head and letting her take the drop part without the satisfaction of nailing the kick.

Just when Julia expected to hear and feel the smack of her boots against Adrian’s head, the dropkick instead hit nothing but air as the Hardcore champ swiftly and narrowly avoided the impact, leaving the cowgirl to grunt as she hit the mat. She missed her target, but fortunately her fall was a small one and the landing wasn’t too rough.

Quickly she rolled away from Adrian before popping back up to her feet with a grin, and she held up her thumb and forefinger less than an inch away from each other to indicate how close she’d been to hitting the dropkick. “Almost had ya there.” she said playfully, keeping her eyes focused on Adrian to see whether she’d try to get things started again herself, or if she’d pass the proverbial baton over to the giant in the corner.

It didn't take long for Adrian to kip up back to her feet and face Julia once again, if they were in front of a crowd, they'd probably be pausing for applause or something right about now. As it stood, they were still feeling each other out, testing the waters. First blood had gone to Julia, but it went to Alaina as well, and that ended up with the amazon getting kicked in the face and rolled up. "A dropkick is hardly 'having' someone." She said, casually ignoring the fact that she won the Hardcore title off a diving dropkick against the now AFW champion Brittany Lurve. Still, the hardcore champ wasn't one to let things like a selective memory ruin a perfectly unsound point.

With her hands up, she went to look for a lock up with the masked wrestler, this time looking to grab onto and twist underneath the leading arm of the luchadora and twist Julia into a simple standing wrist lock.

“You know what I mean.” Julia replied with a chuckle. Of course she knew she wouldn’t have ended this spar with just one dropkick. But the attack had only missed by a hair. No doubt a testament to Adrian’s quickness, but Julia was quite eager to see just what the limits of that quickness were.

The luchadora put her own arms up and moved in along with Adrian, and the two locked arms in the middle of the ring. For all of about a second, that is, as the Hardcore champ then took hold of Julia’s wrist and twisted out to the side with a wrist lock. The blonde grunted, but remained calm. She somersaulted forward onto her back to “untwist” her arm, then kicked her legs up and out to kip up back onto her feet, where she’d try to grab Adrian’s wrist and twist in the exact same way the brunette had with her only seconds ago.

Adrian was struggling enough to stay on her feet when Julia flipped down to the ground, trying to both keep hold and not go down to the ground with her, that it was pretty easy for the masked wrestler to give Adrian a taste of her own strategy, twisting the hardcore champion's wrist painfully and forcing the brunette to suppress a wince.

The wrist lock was tight enough that she didn't want to risk putting any more pressure than she needed to do on it, so no using it as a base to kick up while twisted, or using it to pull Julia into an elbow strike (something Angel had done to her in a previous match), instead Adrian opted to follow the Luchadora's lead and flip herself over onto her back. However, unlike the cowgirl Adrian would instead kick her legs up to hook over Julia's arms, trying to use the leverage to pull her down to the ground.

Julia kept a tight hold of Adrian’s wrist as the brunette flipped onto her back, half expecting the hardcore champ to mirror her counter fully. But instead a pair of legs came up and hooked over Julia’s arms and pulled the cowgirl right down to the mat.

With her wrist still in Adrian’s clutches, there was no room for Julia to put that speed of hers to much use or to create distance between them. Doing her best to work with what she had, Julia tried to roll up to her knees right in front of Adrian’s feet, before shuffling forward in an attempt to fold the champ in half while leaning against the girl’s legs for a pin attempt! Even if she got in the desired position Julia highly doubted a three count would be happening here. But it just might force Adrian to release her wrist in order to break the pin, which was more than enough reason for Julia to go for it.

Adrian succeeded in bringing the fight to the ground but before she could get a shoulder lock or something in as she sat up, Julia had already rolled through and looked to scoop the Hardcore Champion up into a quick pin before she even had time to adjust to get the masked wrestler's arm in between her legs. "One!" Rebecca counted from the sidelines, much to Adrian's annoyance. Yes she was pinned down, but someone else could count the pin when it was her shoulders on the mat dammit.

Still, if there was one thing going for this situation, she still had control of Julia's wrist, so when she kicked out at Rebecca's count of "Two", forcing her legs back towards the masked cowgirl as she jerked a shoulder off the floor, her legs opened up, one looping under Julia's arm before they locked back together as Adrian pulled back, trying to catch Julia in a Triangle Choke.

Sure enough, Adrian jolted her shoulder up off the mat at the two count. And as she did so Julia jolted her body back and attempted to yank her wrist free, having a bad feeling that continuing to grapple with Adrian on the mat would likely not bear positive results. Her intuition proved rather prophetic, albeit not very helpful, as Julia’s attempt to separate from Adrian was stopped by the woman’s legs coiling around her head, arm and neck to keep her in place!

“Dammit!” Julia grunted as she felt Adrian’s legs lock in place. The one solace was that Julia’s initial jolt had elevated her body some, giving her a bit of room to defend against the choke before it could be completely locked in. She brought her free arm in and tried to squeeze it between her body and Adrian’s leg to reduce the constricting effect on her head and neck. From there she’d have a few potential options to chose from: try to get to Alaina for a tag, try making her way to the ropes, or find a way to reverse or fight out of this hold.

With them positioned almost right in the dead center of the ring, options A and B didn’t seem very plausible. So it was time to get creative with plan C. With the arm she’d attempted to use as a wedge to keep the choke from being fully synched in, Julia tried to push it all the way through so she could wrap it around the leg so she could attempt to roll Adrian on her stomach to threaten turning the triangle choke into a Single Leg Boston Crab. Even if it worked the transition would at best be awkward, but worth a try at least.

Locking in a triangle choke always seemed so easy when looking at it on a screen, but god damn was it a pain in the ass in reality. Adrian wasn't even sure she had the right leg hooked over the right bit in the struggle, even if she could squeeze Julia's neck with a much simpler headscissor or something, no. She had to be fancy about it and try for a winning submission already mid-chain grapple. The awkwardness of it all gave Julia enough room to try and turn it against her and attempt to roll the two over, no doubt with something nasty planned.

"Nggh!" Adrian grunted as she opted to abandon the grapple, kicking away with her free leg so she could roll away from Julia and turn to face her, "That..." she panted, quickly trying to regain her composure as she span around to face the masked wrestler "...escalated quickly."
