Georgia Flynn debut - vs. Abattoir

Ugh, it was like being underwater. Abattoir, now very shaky indeed, got one leg under herself, then another. She planted a palm on the mat and began steadily working herself upright, wobbling like a newborn giraffe. Slowly but surely, the further upwards she got, the more her legs seemed to steady and the clearer her head became. And at last, the wheels began turning again.

Okay. Georgia hadn't pulled her upright. She was nowhere to be seen, which meant she was setting up something. Abattoir couldn't see her in either of the corners in front of her, so she'd either come from one of the other corners or springboard off the ropes. The nak muay planted a foot in front of herself, took a breath, and shook her head just in time to hear the crowd swell with excitement. Something big was incoming.

She pivoted off that foot, whirling around just in time to see her opponent leaping up onto the top rope to launch herself off.

For somebody who hadn't just been rocked as badly as she had, it'd probably seem like everything was moving in slow motion as they lined up the perfect shot. Abattoir had no such luxury. A thousand instinctual calculations ran through her head and she spun in place, hauled her left elbow around at sound-barrier speeds, and threw the Nail right where she expected Georgia to make contact with her. It wasn't elegant, deadeye-accurate particularly showy, but it was savage in execution and had enough of her (admittedly woozy) force behind it to crush a cinderblock.

For Georgia, the world didn't move in slow motion. It went very fast. So fast, that in what felt like just a brief moment, she went from flying through the air, always an incredible feeling, to laying on the mat, on her chest, body completely limp, groaning and whimpering, seeing black splotches in her vision.

It took a replay on the tron, (and a view viewings of the match later that night for Georgia) for the crowd to realize what happened, seeing Abattior's "Nail" Roaring Elbow smash directly into Georgia's temple, causing her body to hit the mat on her front and skid on the mat before coming to a stop, only a few twitches coming from Georgia's body, the ref girl checking if Georgia was knocked out or not.

"rmmmfmmfm..."

The crowd legitimately had no idea what had happened at first, and probably wouldn't until after the match when the tron showed a few slow-mo replays. There was a collective gasp, but otherwise, it almost seemed as if Georgia had simply come up short on her crossbody and face-planted on the mat in front of Abattoir. For this short period, at least, only the nak muay truly knew what had transpired (and she was still a bit dazed, so she really only had a general idea of it). If she'd been off by an inch, the other girl would have plastered her and the match would be over right now. But here she stood, with a semiconscious Georgia twitching on the mat. Most people would call it a day here and go for the pin.

Abattoir wasn't most people. She took every opponent she faced very, very seriously, never coasted, and perhaps most importantly, was a firm believer in the concept of the double-tap. (If AFW was ever infected by a rampaging zombie virus, she would probably last a pretty decent amount of time due to this thoroughness.) The second she saw her opponent lying there, she was like a shark drawn to blood.

Hooking one leg around Georgia's, the nak muay reached under her arm, grabbed a crossface, and rolled over onto her back. It was the Mourn, her STF variant - although really, it was more of a 10th Planet twister in that, rather than choking its victim, the move steadily cranked on the spine. Abattoir interlaced her fingers, braced her leverage against Georgia's hips, and wrenched. She'd nearly gotten wrecked earlier; there was no way she was leaving the possibility of it happening again.

Feeling finally came back to Georgia's body after a few moments.

Unfortunately, the feeling that came back first was pain, pure solid pain coursing through her entire body, from her bent leg, to her arched back, but the main focus was her poor head and neck, having already been smashed and compressed by Abattoir's Nail, the STF cranking on her neck and spine just furthered the damage done.

Between still being fuzzy from the knockout Nail, and the extreme pain of the STF Variation, Georgia could only let out pained whimpers, her arm flailing in the air, only standing the move for a few seconds before she finally began slapping her hand on the mat, tapping out!

"I-I give! I give!"

Abattoir wasn't too comfortable herself, to be totally truthful.  Properly applying the Mourn put a ton of strain on both shoulders and her knee, and Georgia hadn't been particularly kind to two out of those three over the course of their match.  She rolled most of her weight onto her left shoulder, the one that hadn't been worked over, and clenched her teeth.  Nothing left to do but grit it out and hoped this worked.

As it happened, it did work - Georgia was tapping a few seconds later and it was all over.  Abattoir spared a brief glance up to make sure the referee had seen it, then released the hold immediately.  It took some pulling and disentangling to get free of the other girl's weight, but after a moment of difficulty, she was out, and the nak muay scooted backwards to rest against the ropes for a moment.  Her breath was heavy and unsteady through the mask, and sweat was beading brightly on her forehead.  Whew.  Despite - or rather, because of - these things, though, she felt a profound sense of deep satisfaction.  Rookie though she may be, Georgia had very nearly had her a few times there.

At last, she worked her way upright, brushed her hair back, and then moved (slightly wobbly, given her banged-up knee) over to the downed Georgia.

"Good fight." Abattoir offered a gloved hand.  "You'll do well here."

Georgia groaned, laying on the mat for a few moments after Abattoir let her go, rubbing her neck. After all that, she had lost, tapping out in the ring and left with nothing but a sore neck and a headache.

Disappointed in herself, she looked up with surprise as the masked woman offered her hand to her, complimenting her on the match. While it didn't negate that she submitted...it did actually make the California girl feel a bit better about things.

"T-Thanks...that was a pretty good fight!"

She said, taking Abattoir's hand and getting helped up to her feet, rubbing her neck, a bruise already forming on her head from where Abattoir's elbow had struck,

Abattoir had been in Georgia's exact situation when she'd first debuted, but that didn't mean she felt particularly sorry for the other girl. It was a learning experience. She'd come out stronger for it. Would that the rest of AFW could manage the same thing, but there they were, with most of them wallowing complacently in the noose.

"Yeah." She stepped back to the ropes and nodded to Georgia. "Let's do it again sometime."

With that, the nak muay slid through the ropes and dropped to the floor. She grabbed her coat, threw it on, pulled the hood up, and headed for the back - to the puzzlement of the crowd, who were used to the loser departing first and the winner sticking around to celebrate. Instead, Abattoir was halfway gone before the ref even realized she wasn't there to get her hand raised, and Georgia was left to bask in the appreciation of the fans, who had clearly enjoyed her debuting effort.

Georgia blinked as Abattoir just left, without even celebrating her win. Weird girl...but she had won fair and square, so Georgia had to respect her ability.

Needing a hot shower and a cold ice pack, Georgia gave the crowd a quick bow, before leaving the ring. She had lost, but had given her all, and hopefully had left an impression on the crowd. As for Abattoir, she'd definitely get back in the ring with the masked girl...only the result would be fair different next time!
