Adrian was busy doing her last minute stretches for her match, trying to get used to her new attire. It had been a long time since she'd switched to the two-tone tights with her name down the side, but her best pair had gotten caught up and torn in the chaos that was the boiler room brawl at Avalanche. It was time for a change, with River Styx now officially out of the Hardcore title picture and out of her life, it was as good of a time as any for a fresh start.

Slipping on her black, hooded, thin pleather jacket to wear over top of her brand new gold singlet, title belt firmly around her waist along with new, blue, AK marked kickpads and boots. She was ready to head on out and face whoever was lined up for her.

The heavy guitar of her new theme rang out through the arena, the fans in Tokyo cheering as the Hardcore Champion stepped out on stage, soaking it in before charging straight for the ring, jumping up to the top rope and flipping her hood back with a loud "WOOOOOO!" Dropping back down to hand over her title and jacket to the timekeeper and waiting for her opponent to make her way out.

The arena went quiet as the crowd waited to see who Adrian's mystery opponent was, rumors were abound about who it could be that management had chosen to face her.

Soon enough, a familiar sounding guitar riff started chugging through the PA system, a nostalgic song playing:

"Like a White Winged Dove...sings a song, sounds like she's singing..."

A large portion of the crowd, former Wrestle Angel fans, recognized the tune, realizing just who it belonged too, erupting in a loud roar as the owner of it came onto the entrance ramp.

Grizzly Yamamoto had finally returned to the ring.

With a smirk, the 46 year old woman raised her arms into the air and let out a loud battle cry, her long brunette hair blowing behind her as she ran down the ramp, sliding under the ropes and entering the ring, getting on the turnbuckle and letting out another yell for the people who remembered her to cheer.

Getting back on the mat, she turned, looking at her opponent, pointing at the Hardcore Champion.

"You! I know you! You're Adrian Kytes, the Hardcore Champion of the world, but are you ready to face Grizzly Yamamoto, former Wrestle Angels World Champion!?"

She yelled, hyping the crowd up even more.

Ho-ley-shit! Adrian wasn't exactly sure who was going to come out and face her, but she sure wasn't expecting someone like Grizzly Yamamoto to make her way down to the ring. It was hard work to suppress a gulp of intimidation as the former Wrestles Angels champion, the heavyweight joshi legend made her way down the ramp to challenge the Hardcore Champion.

"Hoboy..." the brunette mumbled. Yamamoto was usually someone you needed Batman levels of prep time for, even if she was 20 years Adrian's senior, heck- because she was 20 years Adrian's senior. Both in life and wrestling Grizzly had seen more and probably done more than Adrian ever had. This was gonna be a tough one to be sure, and yet another match that put Adrian at a 60 pound weight disadvantage.

Rolling her shoulders, she took a deep breath to calm herself back down, she'd taken on bigger than Grizzly and she'd probably taken on stronger too. She could do this "Not sure, don't want to go down in history as just the person who bust your hip." She taunted, going straight for the low hanging fruit. Probably not the smartest plan she'd had today.

"My hip huh? Oh the young are so bold aren't they? You'll be apologizing for that when I'm done with you!"


Grizzly yelled, briefly giving her arms and legs a small stretch before moving to the center of the ring, arms up, as the bell sounded off, the crowd very eager to see if the Angel could still perform.

"You wanna lock up, or is the tough young champ too scared for that?"

Yup, that was probably not the best things to say at the start, making Grizzly pissed off at her was just going to make things worse, it was time to put up and shut up. Wait... Locking up was simple enough with the Wrestle Angel, despite being significantly heavier than the hardcore champ, Adrian did have two inches on her in height, enough to get her a bit of leverage to stay upright as she took Yamamoto's offer of a collar and elbow tie up to start it off.

Grappling with the taller girl, Grizzly began pushing a little bit, though not with her full strength. Sure, she COULD dive right in and try going full force right off the bat, but this was her big return, why not build it up a bit.

Besides, the older and heavier woman was pretty powerful, used to more often than not being the stronger fighter in the ring, and yet Adrian had chosen to lock up with her, it was fully possible the girl already had a plan of her own.

So Grizzly played it safe, testing the hardcore champ, pushing back against her a little, seeing if she moved or held her ground, trying to gauge her strength!

The fact that she wasn't already scrambling to stay still told Adrian that either Grizzly's strength had deteriorated since her heyday, or she was just trying to test the former cosplayer's skill. Well, if it was her strength that the older wrestler wanted to test, it was strength that she was definitely NOT going to get. Adrian instead trying to pull and push to slip around the heavyweight and catch her in a waist lock. What she was going to do from there could be figured out when she was not in the direct line of fire.

Hmm, a go around and waist lock. Smart girl. Other, more foolish girls had tried to match strength with Grizzly, assuming she was weak just because she was older. Idiots. Luckily, Adrian didn't seem like one of those types.

That being said, being caught in a hold like this was frustrating, and she didn't have the mobility to throw her arms back and elbow the girl off, instead grabbing her hands and trying to pry them off her midsection.

"Aha!" Adrian let out as she slipped past the big veteran, locking her arms around her waist for a brief woman of glory before Grizzly grabbed her by the wrist and pulled her arms apart pretty simply reducing her "Aha!" to a simple "Ah!" Of course it wasn't going to be that easy... but if the worst she could do was just free herself from the Hardcore champions grip... then maybe she was on to the right path with this.

Trying to not be caught in whatever Yamamoto had planned, Adrian threw a knee into the back of one of the heavyweight's, wanting the big woman to let go.

"Gah!"

Grizzly yelled, a sudden kick to the back of her leg forcing her to drop to a knee, losing her grip on Adrian's arms.

Fortunately though, the extra space created between them was just enough for Grizzly to turn and swing her arm out behind her. While she doubted it would connect, if it at least kept Adrian back enough for her to get her footing back, it would be worth it.
