Fuck Monopoly. No one ever wants to play it the right way.

I've played DnD though it's not my favorite. My favorite would be VTM as I love the story aspect of the game. The person running the game is called the Story teller so that should give you a clue the story is the most important thing of the game not all the dice rolling.

As far as Monopoly goes, I've got My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Monopoly, so I'm pretty sure I win this round.

Re: Table Top Games
I've been in the same DND campaign going on 4-5 years now. That's how infrequently we meet...still fun though~
I actually have a group of friends who invite people over to play board games all the time. We play the classics like Taboo sometimes, but some of my favorites are the more obscure ones or variations of old games, like...
1) Risk: Godstorm - Imagine Risk but you're also duke it out with your chosen Gods, and your fallen comrades continue fighting in the afterlife for a chance to be reborn.
2) Tsuro - Simple and quick but strategic. You're given a blank board and given cards with paths on them. You set your card on the board and your creature follows the path, and the objective is to stay on the board as long as possible without running out of real estate or bumping into the other players creature or their own pathway.
3) King of Tokyo - A big Kaiju monster battle royale that's very offense and resource based. Tough to explain, so I'll just copy and paste this description I found.
"In King of Tokyo, you play mutant monsters, gigantic robots, and strange aliens—all of whom are destroying Tokyo and whacking each other in order to become the one and only King of Tokyo.
At the start of each turn, you roll six dice, which show the following six symbols: 1, 2, or 3 Victory Points, Energy, Heal, and Attack. Over three successive throws, choose whether to keep or discard each die in order to win victory points, gain energy, restore health, or attack other players into understanding that Tokyo is YOUR territory.
The fiercest player will occupy Tokyo, and earn extra victory points, but that player can't heal and must face all the other monsters alone!
Top this off with special cards purchased with energy that have a permanent or temporary effect, such as the growing of a second head which grants you an additional die, body armor, nova death ray, and more.... and it's one of the most explosive games of the year!
In order to win the game, one must either destroy Tokyo by accumulating 20 victory points, or be the only surviving monster once the fighting has ended."

Re: Table Top Games
Both the Monster Game and My little Pony Monopoly sound absolutely awesome and brilliant in my mind^^

How is Tsuro? I just bought Tsuro of the Seas for my brother for Christmas on a whim. It looked good, but I've never played it before.

Re: Table Top Games
The version I played sounds different than "Tsuro Of The Seas", which uses dice rolling to change things up. But it's all basically pathway building using tiles while avoiding your opponent. It's fun and extremely easy to get into it, but you'll find yourself wracking your brain and getting nervous once the board starts getting crowded and your pathway options are limited. Simple to learn but can be tough to master. One game can be done in under 20 minutes, so it's not a time-eater either.

I usually just say "Yahtzee but with Godzilla" and people seem to twig on pretty quickly
I play a lot of board games, nearly all of which are made by autistic Europeans and thus impenetrable slogs with forty-page rulebooks that nobody but me finds interesting or fun. Getting people to play anything other than, like, Forbidden Island is a chore. I think I'm gonna hold a bunch of my friends at gunpoint and see if we can get through a complete playthrough of Ghost Stories.
I also, conveniently, play a lot of roleplaying games. Most of my RPG time is spent doing Apocalypse World & variants but I have a soft spot for the old cortex+ Marvel Heroic system, and I also play some D&D 5e and 13th Age.

Re: Table Top Games
If you want a ball crushingly fun game, try Shadows of Brimstone. It's a bit of an investment, but it's great. Also, if you want a game that the players can't actually win, try Rise of the Kage.
But, srsly, don't play that one.
But DO play Bushido!
I play Malifaux myself. Just did a tournament today. And guildball. It's better than Blood Bowl imo.
We play DND but not as often as we used to. Lately we've been playing Through the Breach, which is great for people more into free form pen and paper tabletops. Especially if you like the setting
