Table Top Games
So I am wondering if anyone here plays any table top games, like Dungeons and Dragons or Warhammer or X-wing or whatever other tabletop game you can think of.
Seeing as I started this topic I will start by saying that I use to play Warhammer and Warhammer 40k, I have also played some Dark Heresy and Warmachine. Currently, I am thinking of getting into X-wing.
Also feel free to share any interesting or funny stories that you've had while playing this games.

I've played a ton of tabletop things over the years but my main game right now is Heroclix which I've been obsessed with for a number of years now.

Re: Table Top Games
I used to play Warhammer 40K until the black Crusade against Cadia, then stopped for the lack of vision for the story and how prices always unreasonably climbed for miniatures. I still have Eldar and Space Marine armies that could probably be played under new rules too, also some imperial army and chaos space marine units.
I also played Classic Battletech and still do once in a few months. My fondest memory of Battletech was when we replayed the meeting of the Clans and Inner Sphere forces with the players being the Inner Sphere while the game master piloted the clan machines. What a brutal desaster! I piloted a superheavy mech without arms and was basically instantly killed by a star of elementals.^^

I actually stop playing Warhammer and Warhammer 40k because of the prices.

And the best part of this is Games Workshop has all this shops everywhere and then they come around and scratch their head how it can be the people who buy their stuff are either parents or get older and older and they loose the young audience. There are surely other factors too, but that certainly does not help at all...

Re: Table Top Games
I've played D&D twice, but I do Star Wars more. I've done two or three campaigns in person, and I have a campaign that's been going for about the last eight years online (we've covered about eight years in-game, too).
On top of that, I'm getting more into board games beyond the typical family fair. Played Betrayal at the House on the Hill for the first time last week and loved it, and bought a bunch of games to play with family and friends. I kinda want to make my own game, too, but that's just a random idea.

Re: Table Top Games
I played Warhammer 40k AGES ago when I was a kid... One guy ruined it for my group of friends cause he was real arrogant and knew everything about the game so always won (I was the only one to beat him and he did not lose graciously either).
With a new group of friends we have been playing a number of random table top games... D&D was the one most regularly played (although now my friends have gone off of it ) I just loved creating storylines and scenarios to run. We were part way through a set of campaigns that were all related when my friends gave up on it
Also just a shout out to betrayal at house on haunted hill as well cause its awesome... We've played that about 8 times but I haven't been the betrayer yet

Re: Table Top Games
(I realize this thread is strictly for table top games that are far too complicated for my tiny brain....but fuck it, I wanna talk about board games for a second)
Me and some friends have been getting into board games more and more lately, cause sometimes its fun to just play a board game with a live 3 hour Rush DVD in the background.
Sadly, thanks to my friends inability to pass up anything with a brand they like, and the decision to make my place the board game house, instead of branching out, they bought more of the same game with different branding, which is why I have 3 versions of Goddamned Monopoly sitting around the house, and THEY WANT TO BUY TWO MORE.
Meanwhile, what I would like to do is get one of those D&D boardgames that are supposedly welcoming to new starters, (Wrath of Ashardalon?) since I've always enjoyed the D&D Concept and I think me and my group of pals could have some fun with it.
But it's 70 bucks and those cheap bastards won't go partially in on buying it with me. I will not have 5 versions of Monopoly in this house!
One board game I remember LOVING as a kid was the fucking Pokemon Master Trainer game. (Don't you dare judge me. That game was awesome. Traveling around, finding wild pokemon, battling trainers and other players, it was cool, and most of you are pokemon fans anyway.)
That's one thing that bugs me. Video Games could totally make awesome board games, but since the early 90's/late 80's had some REALLY SHITTY video game based board games, companies never bother anymore and just throw their label onto Monopoly and Risk.
Hell, I have Zelda/Sonic/Fallout Monopoly. I'd love an actual Zelda board game...Legend of Zelda RPG Board Game!

Re: Table Top Games
I love monopoly. Spongebob monopoly is the best of them to be honest, with classic monopoly coming in second. I love Star Wars, but hate Star Wars monopoly despite lobbying to buy it initially. Last is credit card monopoly or whatever its real name is, that´s disgusting.
A friend of mine and me tried to force my pen and paper group into Battletech, but sadly, they all hated it.
