It had always felt as if Lorenza was a pain train of combos, constantly charging towards Yvette. The punch to the solar plexus could of spelt the beginning of the end for her. But he determination forced her to rapidly counter attack and at least halt the offence. She had stopped it at the right time too. One more attack would of seen her against the ropes.

Most people would be cautious at this point but this was the first round and Yvette needed to be brave and not let Lorenza get the upper hand. As her punch hut she would take a step forward and start her own combo. ThrowING a jab towards her ribs before trying to work over Lorenzas abs with jab after jab. She was going to go for the face but decided against it as that was whee most people would go. And that would be where Lorenza would he most prepared.

Lorenza Saldano Vs Yvette King - Standard Boxing - Page 2 Empty Re: Lorenza Saldano Vs Yvette King - Standard Boxing

Lorenza had almost managed to back her young opponent up against the ropes, but Yvette's bold counter allowed her to stop her backward travel just in time to save herself from the pitiable fate of having nowhere to run from Lorenza Saldano. Lorenza, of course, was upset with herself that she had let this girl escape that fate, knowing that if she had been a little faster and a little luckier then she may have had a chance at earning a first-round knockout.

Well, Yvette was much, much younger than her, and even though the younger boxer was a huge underdog, she had had plenty of tape of Lorenza to study and analyze. And there was something to be said for how an underdog fought when they knew that everyone was expecting them to lose. It was an unencumbered style, carefree, sometimes very risky, but it had paid off for plenty of underdogs throughout history, in shocking upsets and unexpected titles. Perhaps Yvette intended to join their ranks. Lorenza did not intend to allow that.

Right now, Yvette was coming after her, fighting like a wildcat to break away from the ropes. Her initial hook to Lorenza's face, deflected as it might have been, had been enough to force Lorenza to take a step back, and Yvette would launch herself forward into the ceded space, coming out swinging at the older boxer. She threw a jab which caught Lorenza in her ribs, eliciting a grunt from the former world champion as she took another step back. Yvette would then unleash a storm of punches, aiming blow after blow right at Lorenza's toned midsection, landing another pair before Lorenza got a glove down to deflect the blows. Even then, another slipped through, tagging her in her side and leaving what would surely be another bruise. Even as Lorenza tried to defend her belly, Yvette kept coming.

Well, Lorenza thought to herself as she chomped down hard on her mouthguard, the best defense is a good offense, yes?

Lorenza, as Yvette would batter her stomach, would take aim at her opponent's face, pulling her green glove back before throwing another rocket-powered right hook at Yvette's chin. Lorenza would add something of an upward curve to this punch, almost as if trying to knock Yvette's head clean off of her body like a defeated Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robot!

Lorenza Saldano Vs Yvette King - Standard Boxing - Page 2 Empty Re: Lorenza Saldano Vs Yvette King - Standard Boxing

Post by jakeb1993 Mon May 02, 2016 11:51 am

Yvette had least got her way. She had managed to push Lorenza back and stop and stop the onslaught that could of been the killer. Whats more she seemed to be getting luck on landing her rib shot on Lorenza. Maybe this champion was washed out afterall? What happened next was a tale of two very distinct halves. Yvette got her way, landing a nasty rib blow and got a couple of good shots on the former champions abs before she could even get her guard down. Even when her guard was down, Yvette was still able to get the odd punch to barge on through.

The success however, was forcing Yvette to become complacent, and after the next punch, tunnel vision took hold. Totally focused on hurting Lorenza and pushing her back, she couldn't see that that the older woman was about to throw her doom right into her face. Infact no one was expecting it, out of nowhere, like a bolt of lightning Lorenza's fist shot up, at such an angle that no guard could even block it, smashing into Yvette chin with a resonating thud. Straight away, Yvette's head snapped backwards, the force enough to force her mouthguard right out of her mouth. spittle and sweat jumped off her body, as it fell backwards. Some spectators would even comment on how it looked like the punch lifted Yvette off the ground a bit.

No matter which way you looked at it, Lorenza had just displayed to the world the skills difference between the two fighters. The crowd loved it too. Erupting in cheers as the punch sent Yvette back. Clearly Lorenza had a following. For Yvette it seemed as if the fall was happening in slow motion. She swore she could her individual people talking as she went down. But it wouldn't matter. Her back would impact the canvas with a thud and her body went limp straight away, many fans once more cheering as from where they were, it looked like Lorenza had just scored the fabled first round knockout. Yvette hated to be the bearer of bad news, but she wasn't knocked out, dazed yes. Hurting, hell yeah, and disorientated fuck yeah. Before she could see what was going on, the ref had already began counting, and had reached three. This was not the way Yvette planned on going out. No way. She rolled on her side and began to climb to her knees, taking all the way to 7 to do so however. She would get back on her feet though, much to the surprise of the crowd, who now couldn't decide if they were happy or upset that Yvette had barely made it back up to her feet. Without a mouth guard though, Yvette could speak, it hurt to move her jaw, but she could at least speak.

The ref would take a second to pick it up, giving Yvette the time she wanted "Fuck! You think that you can just take me down with a blow like that. Gunna have to try harder than that bitch. You might have skill but you are old news now!" Before Yvette could say anything else, The ref had already put the mouthgaurd back into her mouth. Taking a moment to make sure Yvette was ok, The ref signalled for the fight to continue, the bell going off once more.

There wasn't much left to do. But Yvette needed to be careful. She knew it. One more hit like that and it was lights out. There was only 20 or so seconds left of the round according to her internal clock, but then again it could be out due to the suckerpunch she had just taken. Yvette wouldn't charge or attack, just raising her guard and moving around Lorenza, trying to keep agile and avoid another nasty hit til the round end.

Lorenza Saldano Vs Yvette King - Standard Boxing - Page 2 Empty Re: Lorenza Saldano Vs Yvette King - Standard Boxing

Lorenza was having trouble with Yvette, but Yvette got reckless. Both of her gloves were down, pummeling Lorenza's gut. That was why she was able to land so many hits on the former world champion's rock-hard abs—she did not leave herself with any ability to defend against attacks from Lorenza. Her own punches hit with a surprising bit of power, and Lorenza, having boxed dozens of times in her life, knew that there was probably quite a bit more power in those pale arms of Yvette that the American girl was not yet bringing to bear.

It was satisfying to land her own punch, a hard hook right to Yvette's chin, before her young foe could start to muster any true power punches of her own. When Lorenza's hook hit, she knew that it was a beautiful connection. She felt the sudden jerk backwards of Yvette's head as it was snapped back by the blow, and she felt relief as the punches which had been landing in her stomach over and over again stopped. Lorenza would let out a loud, horse-like huff as her opponent crumpled before her, the blonde landing on her back on the canvas, a few feet away from the ropes.

Yvette immediately rolled over and began to get up. Though it took until the count of seven, there was never any doubt that she would beat the count and continue fighting. Lorenza looked over her shoulder at the clock. Thirty seconds left in the round. It looked like she wasn't going to get that satisfying first-round knockout.

That was not so surprising. But Lorenza was shocked when her opponent, who heretofore had been silent, began to speak to her—and began to cuss her out and trash talk her! Lorenza scowled and let out a low, guttural grunt. She still had her mouthguard in, and couldn't fire back with any choice words of her own. She was about to spit it out and get in Yvette's face, but the referee had already shoved Yvette's mouthguard back in. Lorenza grunted again and put up her gloves. She waved one at Yvette, urging her to come at her. She made another grunting sound, trying to make it clear that she was taunting Yvette despite her lack of ability to speak. But Yvette didn't try anything as reckless as her last assault. She began circling around the much older boxer, gloves up. With twenty seconds left, it looked as if her goal for this round was to survive.

Lorenza could afford to go on the offensive. She would step forward, trying to intercept Yvette along the circular path she was traveling. Lorenza would throw a quick jab with her left at Yvette's guard, then follow it up with a right hook that she tried to arc around her foe's gloves in another attempt at hitting Yvette's head!

There was only one way for Yvette to win nowz and that was to survive. She had taken a monster of a punch and it would take a while to fully recover from such a nasty and devastating blow. Watching Lorenza when she was back on her feet Yvette was happy that her trash talk had gotten to Lorenza. Though on second thought she didn't know of it was a good thing or if she had just poked the raging bull with a hot poker.

Defense was now the order of the day, keeping far away from Lorenza as the ring would allow her to. While the fans might not like it, it was the only way she was going to see this round through. Reckless attacks cost her dearly so now it was a waiting game. She could see Lorenza taunting her, almost begging her to take another shot. Yvette was tempted to take it to her, but that would be for the next round.

It was no surprise then, that if Yvette was going to take the fight to Lorenza, that she would take the fight to her. Coming in at her, Lorrnza s experice payed off as she managed to intercept Yvette and land a punch right into her guard. Her forearms srung, and she stopped moving too, taking the time to tighten the guard to prevent that gloved fist from breaking it. Yvette was quite pleased with the block. She had sort of expected Lorezna to break through the guard and break her nose.

Yvette couldn't celebrate for too long however as it seemed this was all part of Lorenza plan, too distracted from maintaining the guard a right hook came smashing into the side of her head. The punch couldn't of come at a worse time, not only did it rock her head to the side, it actually caused Yvette to drop her entire guard, when she was only a step away from the ropes. It seemed everything had rather ironically gone fully circle, Yvette was back in the same critical situation she was in less than a minute ago. There was only roughly 5 seconds left on the clock, but then again 5 seconds was a long time in boxing.

Yvette stayed in place, and Lorenza went after her. While it had been tough going in this first round, and Lorenza had only been in control for a little over half of it, there was no denying now that she had taken command of this match with that knockdown. The blonde was reeling, staying on the defensive and staying in one place, when formerly she had been using her superior speed to try to pull one over on the older, more experienced boxer. Lorenza knew a girl in trouble when she saw one. Like a shark smelling blood in the water, she advanced towards her prey.

Her first jab hit Yvette's guard, as expected. She noted, with some mild surprise, that the guard felt much more solid than she would have expected, as Yvette had no trouble at all simply absorbing the punch with her gloves and continuing on as if it hadn't happened. At this point, Lorenza had been expecting more give.

Yvette could not ignore the next punch, which slipped around her guard and smashed into the side of her head. That surprisingly robust guard dropped completely as Yvette's head snapped to the side and she stumbled backward, now only a step away from the ropes. The blonde looked disoriented, and Lorenza wanted to take advantage of that. But time was not on her side. She stepped forward and threw one punch: a harsh right jab, quick and compact, but also powerful, aimed for Yvette's cheek. She began to pull back her left glove. Then, as she had a punch primed, the bell rang.

Lorenza froze, her fist hanging in the air for a second before she brought it down. That right jab was all she had gotten off in those final five seconds, and as for the damage it had done to her opponent...

The final five seconds would feel like a eternity to Yvette, her face and head still reeling from the mean hook that had forced her to drop her guard. Now it was a waiting game, waiting for the killer punch that would never come. She had been saved by the bell. One second more and it wouldn't of been pretty.

For Yvette, even walking to her corner was a bit if a challenge, her head was still disoriented after the couple of blows to the head she had taken, but sure enough she got there, in a slightly staggered fashion. As her corner crew started to do their thing, Yvette couldn't help but feel angry at herself. Her whole mind shut down. She had Been in a prime position in that round and had sqaundered it by getting too complacent, and now she had paid a heavy price for it. No one could deny the fact that Lorenza had managed to win the round. That last minute of offense had turned the tide.

Yvette needed a new tack if she was going to survive round two. She had a speed advantage, so that could help her weave around the more powerful, older boxer. Bit that cost energy, there was no way she could sustain it for a whole 9 rounds. It was a huge gamble. If she couldn't defeat Lorenza before she tired out, then it was game over.

After having a drink of water and having her mouth guard put in, her temporary coach gave her a few decent prices of advice; keeping her legs spread out to allow her to weave more, as well as keeping low to avoid anymore dangerous headshots. It didn't seem like a long enough break before the ref called them both back to the centre to start the second round off. Yvette trying to look determined and aggressive, trying to at the very least to hide the damage that had been done in previous rounds. On the refs orders she extended her one had to touch gloves with Lorenza, just before the bell would ring to start round two.

Lorenza's right jab landed, snapping Yvette's head to the side and pushing her one step closer to the ropes. But she didn't fall down to the canvas with the blow, despite the damage which Lorenza had already done to her with that hard hook to her chin—not that it would have mattered if Yvette had gone down. Only a knockout punch would have won Lorenza the match right then and there, and Yvette, while rattled, was not about to be knocked out. Before Lorenza could fire off her hook—an attack which might have had a chance to actually knock Yvette out, if she was actually as disoriented and wounded as she seemed—the bell rang, signalling the end of the round. She stepped back from Yvette and spat out her mouthguard.

"Try to keep trash talking me, and see what it gets you, chiquita, okay?" Lorenza would warn, in her usually smooth, cold tones. She had taken some damage that last round, and between that and Yvette actually having the audacity to holler and cuss at her after barely beating the count, Lorenza knew that sending Yvette sprawling in the next round would be very satisfying indeed. The younger woman was spunky, and had plenty of potential, but she stood no chance against the mighty Lorenza Saldano.

The Mexican boxer would walk back over to her corner then, where her team went over brass tacks with her and worked on her like a pit crew. She turned her back to Yvette and the ring, leaning in to listen to her coach discuss what Yvette might try to do next and how she could counter the blonde's efforts. She had a soothing warm towel applied to the bruises on her belly and took several long sips from a bottle of water held out to her by one of her long-time cornerwomen. Soon enough, the referee girl called for them to come to the center of the ring, and Lorenza would do so, pounding her gloves together as she approached Yvette, then pounding a glove hard against her opponent's outstretched one just before the bell rang.

Yvette had learned one thing about Lorenza in that past round, she had a thing about falling for Physiological warfare. It was almost confirmed to Yvette when Lorenza pounded her glove into here with more power than was needed. Seconds later, the bell rang and Yvette made the choice to use her speed as a weapon. But she would need to be ready for Lorenza, who still seemed pissed after Yvette's words in the past round.

Yvette would take a step backwards when the bell rang, definitely a unorthodox move, and then she raised her one arm and waved her glove, mimicking the action that Lorenza had used in the round previously, hoping to get under the former champions skin. After she did that, she spread her legs out and raised her guard, expecting Lorenza to come charging at her like a speeding bullet or a rampaging bull, which ever metaphor described Lorenza better. Digging her feet in Yvette began counting a rhythm in her head. She had not worked out the former champions rhythm yet, and was having to rely on a gut feeling, a feeling that if she got wrong, could see her walk right into one of Lorenzas punches.

Lorenza Saldano Vs Yvette King - Standard Boxing - Page 2 Empty Re: Lorenza Saldano Vs Yvette King - Standard Boxing

Post by Daaharu Sun May 08, 2016 12:04 am

Lorenza wasn't thinking of herself as being pissed off by her opponent's antics in the previous round. Lorenza did everything she could to remain stoic—calm, but vicious and brutal if she was provoked. She was a grown woman fighting with a child, and she would conduct herself in such a way so as to make sure that everyone in attendance was aware of that fact. Of course, old habits did die hard. Subconsciously, maybe she was a little angry with Yvette, and was relishing the prospect of lashing out at her. Maybe that subconscious urge made her hit Yvette's glove harder, and maybe some of it showed on her face.

But what did it matter what her emotional state was? Winning was all that mattered, and after a dominant first round—a round she was expecting to be scored 10-8 in her favor—she was well on her way to getting this win against this young, inexperienced blonde American. She could win it whether she was calm or angry.

As the bell rang to start the second round, Yvette would take a clear step back, an unorthodox tactic that, evidently, she made simply to have the opportunity to beckon at Lorenza with a glove, trying to taunt the Mexican boxer in the same way that Lorenza had taunted her in the first round. Lorenza scoffed and rolled her eyes. Yvette was a vibrant little thing, but she was going to get crushed. Lorenza would move forward, her pace steady and even as she closed the gap between herself and her foe, before testing Yvette with a rapid combination of jabs at her guard.
