Lightning Tournament Semifinals: Akiha Kosha Vs. Gabbie Desjardin

Akiha was finding that putting Gabbie on the top of the turnbuckle to be difficult but after a small struggle the raven hair wrestler managed to do it as she panted before taking several steps back. She then charged forward and then jumped on the ropes before jumping off them to gain some air as she then tried to drop kick Gabbie out of the ring only to have the Canadian wrestler move out of the way at the last second. Akiha eyes widen as she saw this as she was utterly shocked before she then fell to the wrestling mat.

“AHHH!” yelled Akiha as she then held her back and head due to the impact of falling from so high as her entire body was in utter pain. The raven hair wrestler simply laid on the ground, groaning in pain. This was the first time her critical finisher had failed. The crowd was now cheering as Gabbie had just managed to get herself back in the match.

Gabbie watched as Akiha crashed spectacularly to the mat after she missed with her finisher. She allowed herself a smirk as she slid into the ring and reached down to grab Akiha's arm. The last thing she wanted was to go for a pin only to have the Japanese girl hook her leg on the ropes.

Once she had drug Akiha back to the center of the ring, she knew she couldn't just pin the girl. As relentless as she had been, she needed to do much the same to keep Akiha down. It would be the perfect spot for another submission, but she couldn't really think of one so she did what she did best and lifted her leg up, pressing it against her chest, eliciting a cheer from the crowd at how limber she was. she held her leg in place for a moment and then swung her leg down as hard as she could with an axe kick, aiming her heel down at Akiha's head. Hopefully that would knock the Japanese girl right out and that would be that.

The fall had taken a lot out of Akiha and it might have just cost her the match.  Her back was still in pain while her head was pounding from the fall.  She then felt her arm being grabbed as she was then dragged to the center of the ring, too weak from the fall to properly fight back.  As she was finally let go and got a moment to catch her breath.

She then heard the crowd start cheering, not knowing what was happening, she rolled away, thinking her opponent had gone for some kind of splash.  As she rolled she saw her opponent leg hit the ground and realized that Gabbie had gone for a brutal kick, luckily the raven hair wrestler had rolled away.  She would now attempt to get up, ready to go another round with her opponent.

Gabbie's floor hit nothing and rattled the ring. Gabbie bent her knees and watched Akiha start to get up. Gabbie couldn't allow that, that was for sure, and so she closed the gap between her and Akiha and aimed a knee at the Japanese girl to put her right back down to the canvas.

Akiha managed to get up and could see her opponent wasn't happy, nor was she willing to allow her a chance to recover.  Seeing Gabbie charging at her, Akiha would side step, dodging her opponent knee strike before attempting to get behind Gabbie and trying scratch across her face in hopes of performing an eye rake, another dirty tactic which the audience would disapprove of by booing.  Yet the raven hair wrestler didn't care, it would grant her an advantage and possibly win her the match by letting her set up bigger things.

"Ghhh!"

Gabbie grunted in frustration as Akiha sidestepped her knee strike. One of these times, she was going to bury her knee so hard into Akiha's gut that the girl tasted her breakfast from a week ago. Unfortunately, this was not the time and as she deftly stepped past her and almost casually raked her eyes, Gabbie screamed in pain.

"Ahhhhh!

Her eyes watered and she stumbled. The ref gave Akiha a warning glance, but nothing else. Gabbie knew Akiha would be quick to follow up though. The kickboxer didn't NEED her eyes to do what she did. She knew Akiha's position and pivoted on her heel. With her eyes totally closed and streaks of tears running down her cheeks, she swung her foot right at where she believed Akiha's midsection to be with as vicious a roundhouse as she could muster.

A smile could be seen on Akiha face as she managed to get the eye rack off, causing her opponent to cry out in pain.  Now she had the advantage and could follow it up.  The raven hair wrestler would get ready to hit her opponent with a clothesline but before she could even start the attack, she felt a sudden pain in her stomach as she was then sent back crashing into the canvas.  Crap, just when she turned things around, Gabbie had managed to take control once again.  The kick was brutal, one that Akiha wouldn't be getting up right away from.  The audience was now happy to see that the Canadian wrestler was in control again and showed this by cheering her name.

Gabbie felt the impact of the kick and smiled. opening her eyes, she turned around and looked at the blurry form of the downed Akiha.It was a nice feeling that she could halt the Japanese girl even through cheating. Now she just had to finish it and she had a good idea of what to do.

She bent down and reached out for Akiha's head to try and pull her up. She'd get that knee off or maybe she'd toss her into an Irish whip to set up a kick. Maybe she would just give her a good old fashioned DDT as pay back. She had a lot to think about and only a few moments before Akiha was back on her feet and ready to be put down for the final time.

Akiha was still hurting from the brutal kick she had taken.  Gabbie was a tough one, the raven hair wrestler could not deny that.  The Japanese wrestler felt her head begin grabbed and knew this was her chance to turn things around.  She would attempt to grab her opponent head and trunks before then falling backwards and hooking her opponent leg with her own, attempting to perform a small package pin, hoping to take Gabbie by surprise and even if she didn't win with this tactic, she would at least catch a moment to breathe.

"Huh?"

Gabbie's eyes widened as she felt herself pulled downward when she was supposed to be pulling Akiha up! She was turned upside down and pushed to the canvas with Akiha's weight on her.

"ONE!"

The ref was quick with the count, but Gabbie squirmed. She knew that Akiha was trying to roll her up, but Gabbie was certain she had the strength  and energy to kick out of the pin. She wasnt' going to be denied by Akiha when she was so close to winning! With all her effort the kicked with her legs, trying to break the pin after just one count!
