Lightning Tournament Semifinals: Akiha Kosha Vs. Gabbie Desjardin

The referee stopped her count as both wrestlers were now back in the wrestling ring.  Feeling confident, Akiha decided to make her way to the turnbuckle where she would start climbing it until she reached the top.  From here she could see Gabbie laying down on the ground, still out of it but still somewhat awake.  The raven hair wrestler would then jump off the turnbuckle with both legs raised, attempting to hit her Canadian opponent with a guillotine leg drop.  It was a huge gamble due to the fact that is Gabbie moved out of the way, Akiha would be injured by her own attack.  That being said if the attack connected then the match would be as good as won for Akiha.

Gabbie groaned, not noticing Akiha climbing up the top rope but thankful that she wasn't still attacking her. Her head still throbbed and her crotch still stung, but she was ready to get back in the fight. She pushed her elbow backwards and slowly began to sit up, only to notice the arena darken as Akiha's shadow loomed ove rher.

"S-Sh-HRKKGAH!

Before she could even curse, Akiha's bare thigh crashed into her neck and shoulders and snapped her back to the canvas. Once more she flopped neck to the ground after a hard bounce on the canvas from the back of her head. Her arms rolled up to the back of her head to clutch her head which was pounding even worse than before.

Akiha crashed down and hit her opponent with a guillotine leg drop, making her opponent flop on the ground. The raven hair wrestler could feel her heart pounding, she knew now that she was going to win and make it to the finals of the lightning tournament. All she now had to do was pin Gabbie and it would all be over. She would now hook her opponent leg while laying on top of her shoulders.

Gabbie groaned and exhaled as Akiha's body pressed against hers,. She felt Akiha's leg grab her bare thigh and hook her leg and even as the first slap of the referee's hand blew air against her short hair, she didn't move.

"ONE!"

The referee would slide beside the two and started to count her opponent out.  The one count was to be expected.  As the referee raised her hand again, Akiha would continue to apply the pressure on her opponent shoulders.  The audience would start yelling, some throwing insults at Akiha while others telling Gabbie to get up and not give up.

“TWO”

Just one more count and Akiha would have the match won and be moving on to the finals of the lightning tournament.

"THR-"

Gabbie stirred briefly, opening her eyes after the second count. She saw the raised arm of the ref and wriggled her feet. She was locked tight but she put all of her strength into bursting out of the pin with her legs and throwing her arm up in the air as high as it could be, like she was hot tagging an angel.

"TWO!"

The referee stood up and flashed the two count to the timekeeper and then looked down at the pair of smaller wrestlers, waiting for the action to continue or for another pin attempt to be made.

"Not losing... to a dirty bitch like you.." Gabbie growled into Akiha's ear.

Akiha watched as the referee arm start to come down for a third time, but suddenly Gabbie managed to break the pin and the referee stop her count.  The raven hair wrestler couldn't believe it, how could her opponent have kicked out after that?  Dang it, she was so close to winning, if the referee had just been a bit faster Akiha would have won the match and be going to the finals now.  As she got up to her knee she heard Gabbie call her a dirty bitch, something which enrage her even further but the raven hair wrestler wouldn't lower herself to that level and instead focus on the match.

A bit of Akiha wanted to argue with the referee, another part of her wanted to try again, but she had learned from her previous matches that neither of those tactics would work.  Instead, Akiha would get up and attempt to pull Gabbie arm to get her opponent up before trying to Irish whip her Canadian counterpart into the turnbuckle.  The raven hair wrestler would then follow her and attempt to jump in the air, trying to hit Gabbie with a drop kick.

Gabbie laid on her back, staring at Akiha as she stood up. She was watching the girl's face. Both of them had fairly stoic personalities and both seemed to have little time for the normal witty banter that came from most wrestling matches, however, she knew better than most that reading facial expressions could definitely help in a match. Akiha's seemed different, but she couldn't quite place it.

The Canadian was tugged up to a standing position and whipped towards the corner. Her legs had still worked but she gasped as she crashed into the turnbuckle after turning at the last second.

"Ghh!"

Her head drooped and her arms were draped over the sides. before she could even settle into the turnbuckle, Akiha's kick drove into her flat chest and opened Gabbie's eyes wide. "Gaaaahhh!"

She slumped again, but gripped the ropes with all of her strength, managing to stay upright even though she was still very much slumped in the corner.

Though Gabbie was proving to be a frustrating opponent to put down for good, there was no denying that Akiha was in control of this match.  She managed to get her opponent up to her feet before Irish whipping her into the turnbuckle but the raven hair wrestler wasn't done there as she hit her opponent with a drop kick, sandwiching her in between her boots and the turnbuckle.  Hearing Gabbie now cry out in pain was like music to Akiha ears.

Akiha felt it was now time to end this match and she knew the perfect way to do it, with Plummet.  The raven hair wrestler would now start trying to set up her finisher by grabbing Gabbie and trying to lift her to the top of the turnbuckle so that she was seated on top of it.  Assuming that work, she would then try to place her Canadian opponent feet outside the ropes before then backing up.  If everything went according to plan, the Japanese wrestler would charge forward and attempt to jump off the ropes, using it as a springboard before attempting to hit her foreign opponent with a drop kick with the intent of sending her out of the ring for a massive drop.

Gabbie grunted as Akiha pressed against her and began to try and haul her up. As their bodies mashed together and Gabbie panted softly against her Japanese foe, she made sure to make it as difficult as possible for Akiha to have to lift Gabbie to the top turnbuckle, becoming dead weight in the dark haired girl's arms.

Gabbie felt at home, oddly enough. It felt like a boxing clinch that she was used to and in that sport you had much less opportunity to catch your breath, outside of the round breaks.

So as Akiha set her and moved her legs, Gabbie could feel some of her strength returning. She was still battered and bruise, but the fog was gone as Akiha reeled back and prepared for whatever she was planning.

When Akiha ran, Gabbie's body tensed. She had to wait for the last moment and when Akiha leaped, Gabbie slipped off the top turnbuckle, planting her feet on the apron and dropping to a crouch as she caught the middle rope, leaving Akiha to completely swing and miss on whatever she was attempting, the crowd roared and that helped psych up Gabbie even more!
