Seraphim Vs. Megumi- Crimson against Crimson(Complete)

Megumi sat backstage looking at the bios for her new opponent. Seraphim was a new wrestler at AFW, nobody had seen her fight before, and nobody really knew much about her. Megumi did notice that her opponent had quite a criminal record, killing someone at the age of 18. Seeing that chilled Megumi to the bones. She knew that Seraphim would be unlike any opponent she had faced before, expecting a brutal fight.

Megumi folded up the paper she held and tore it to shreds, dumping it in a wastebasket on her way out to the ring. She wasn't going to need that in the fight. The lights dimmed as she walked out. Spotlights made into star and cresent moon shapes danced around the stadium. It was no doubt related to Eclipse, the new band that Megumi was to be a part of. Her entrance music also changed; "nO LimiT" came over the speakers as Megumi walked towards the ring, the crowd cheering for her. She waved to them, smiling as she walked down the ramp, leaping over the ropes to enter the ring. Inside, she gave a short wave again to the crowd, then her demeanor changed. Her face became serious, her eyes hardened. She was prepared to meet her opponent and give her one amazing fight.

'First victim...' Sitting backstage as she awaited for her fight, Seraphim was hunched forward a little on one of the benches, one arm upon her knees, another holding a cigarette between her fingertips. The thin, brown cigarette was unlit though, but the end seemed chewed and gnawed, like she simply did so as a habit, before flicking it in a trashcan when she heard the music roaring for her opponent.

'What an awful load of crap that is... couldn't she pick anything better?' Seraphim only had three preferences in music, metal, gospel, or opera, the last two being something she kept to herself. She hadn't read a thing about her opponent, all she knew was that she had been signed up as a Heel, and her opponent was a Face. Personally, she didn't care about popularity or fame, she just wanted to test her limits and win. There was a twisted enjoyment that Seraphim gained from pummeling someone to a pulp, and as sadistic as it was, she wasn't afraid to admit it. Nothing else mattered, she had to prove to herself that she wasn't just some mistake to be left to rot, she had faught for everything she had earned, and here in the AFW, she would use that motivation to win.

'Ugh... and listen to them cheer for her. Pathetic.' It was Seraphim's turn to enter now, and with a smug, somewhat uninterested look on her face, she stepped out of the locker room, ready for her fight.

A band unfamiliar to Japan, but quite known in America and several european countries had kicked in as a slew of curses and a fast beat was launched in the heavy melody of a guitar; clearly metal as Liberate from Disturb had begun to play. This kind of music got her blood pumping, just what she needed. Stepping out with the music, a flood of black and white lights filled with what looked like chains and bar textures to them focuses on Seraphim, making the girl look like she stood behind a prison wall. Fans booed and heckled her, but she responded with no more than by giving the finger, and letting it linger: a philosophy in life she liked. And without so much as turning to a single one of her few fans who had hopes for a rising star, she walked towards the ring, both hands in her pants pockets with no curve of a smile as she entered the ring with a casual slide on the mat beneath the ropes.

Then, once she entered the ring, Seraphim…. smiled? There was a rather cheerful look on the once tough girlâ€s expression as she walked over to her opponent, giving a rather kind greeting to her since they still had half a minute before the bell rang. “Hey there.” She said simply, a bit of a welcoming greet to her voice, clearly sounding like she deserved to be more of a Face than a Heel by how she was acting. “Nameâ€s Seraphim, but you can just call me Sera, itâ€s good to meet ya. Should be a fun match, donâ€tcha think?” Casual still with her kind greeting, Seraphim was expecting for Megumi to maybe offer a handshake or something, hoping to get off to a friendly start with her before the match begun, clearly confusing a few of the fans who had expected Seraphim to be a wildchild, only to be dissapointed by her kindhearted nature.

…Maybe Seraphim wasnâ€t a bad person after all?

Megumi watched her opponent carefully as she entered the ring, taking note of every movement, trying to figure out just what kind of an opponent she was faceing. Judging from her complete lack of interest in the crowd, she was someone who focused more on the fight and less on the show. Megumi mentally prepared herself for an opponent with no mercy.

But then, Sera smiled. This, along with her seemingly kind attitude confused Megumi. Was all this toughness and attitude just a mask then? Megumi was still wary, but knew that she had to respond in kind or be seen in a bad light.

Megumi walked to the center of the ring and extended a hand. "Megumi Mutoh," Megumi said, "Good luck to you today!"

While Seraphim awaited a response, she looked over her opponent casually, still maintaining her kind exterior. She had to give Megumi credit on appearance, her outfit wasn't cheesy, she looked experienced, and chances were, she would put up a decent fight. But all of that would mean nothing if Seraphim got the upper hand, which she had quite literally offered with a handshake.

Seraphim stood there for a moment, her smile still there, standing before Megumi with a modest and sweet look upon her, which clashed with her attire. After all, being garbed in a pair of tight, black leather jeans that hung low on her hips, and a very loose, gray top that was sleeveless and exposed her belly, not to mention the eyepatch and blood-red eye, it all seemed a bit rugged. So, seeing Seraphim smile looked a little odd for her, but it seemed to come natural, even showing a softer, somewhat cuter side of the wrestler. It was clear that if Seraphim smiled more like she was and acted as nice as this, she could really be something special instead of just some Heel that everyone hated.

Looking down at Megumi's hand, Seraphim extended her own arm too to take it as she spoke. "Good luck to you too Megumi-" Her words lingered, and when Seraphim clasped her hand with Megumi's soft palm, she suddenly tugged fiercely, pulling Megumi closer to her while she had a firm, squeezing grip. "-You're going to need it!!" Seraphim's smile changed to a more sinister grin as she raised her voice with ferocity, her nice act all a ploy as she brought Megumi closer. And then, with the element of surprise, not even waiting for the bell to ring which still had yet to occur, she would raise her knee quickly to jab the girl hard in the gut, letting go as she attempted to make a cheap, surprise attack to leave the girl breathless.

Megumi was wary and on guard. She knew that offering a handshake was dangerous in a match, since many heels took the opportunity to strike the first blow. It was a common tactic Megumi had faced many times before. So, when Sera grasped her hand and pulled her in, Megumi was not surprised. What did surprise her was the ferocity with which Sera attacked. The sudden and powerful pull, followed by the knee to the gut, all surprised Megumi by simply how much it hurt. Megumi wasn't left breathless, she was positively winded by the blow. She backed off, doubled over, anger present in her eyes.

"I see, that's how you're going to play," Megumi said, "I had expected as much. You've shown your hand too early Seraphim!"

With great force of will, Megumi straightened. She could not show any weakness before this woman, weakness would only jeopardize her chances of victory. "Your tricks won't work twice," Megumi said, raising her hands to protect herself.

A whily, dark grin came to Seraphim's pale lips as the knee strike hit. She always loved getting the first strike, even if it did have to come to her underhanded. Seeing the contorted look of pain on Megumi's pleasure felt rejuvinating. It was a reminder to Seraphim of why she was doing this, even if it was coming to her with such a dirty tactic. Waisting no time, Seraphim was about to take a strike or two at the girl while she had a chance. However coming as a bit of a surprise to Seraphim was seeing Megumi able to bite back the pain a bit, and still stand.

"Damn, more resiliant than you look." She spat, cringing a little in disgust with Megumi as the bell now rang. "Unfortunately for you, I don't rely just on tricks though!" Like a battlecry as she said this, only to be ushered on by booing fans from her cheap attack, Seraphim closed in on Megumi, taking a stance similiar to that of boxing as she did. One foot raised slightly, barely having her toe touch the ground, Seraphim's legs were perfectly matched to a typical Maui Thai stance. However, from the waist up, her fists closed in in clenched fists, close to her own face, Seraphim's stance there had been similiar to boxing. It certainly was a unique looking stance, but it seemed dangerous.

Closing in, relaising she couldn't charge Megumi since she was defending, Seraphim moved in slower, keeping her own guard up before she released her right fist for a jab, aiming for her gut, right at the same spot that was probably still sore from the kick.

Megumi;s gut was still sore from the gut strike. She knew she shouldn't have straightened up as quickly as she did, since that made the pain worse, but she couldn't show any weakness. Seeing her opponent adopt a muay thai kickboxing stance made Megumi a little afraid. She had seen the ferocity muay thai fighters brought to their battles, and wasn't sure she could match that kind of fighting. Megumi quickly formulated a plan. She could only try and play to her own strengths and hope they were enough to match Sera's brutality.

Seeing Sera inch closer, Megumi knew she was about to take advantage of the weakness kneeing her had brought. Sera's right fist flashed out too quickly for Megumi to react, striking her where she was tender. "Guh!" Megumi gasped as the air got knocked out of her again. However, she had readied her counterattack. Sera was just close enough for it to work. Megumi grabbed Sera's arm, the arm that had just struck her, keeping Sera from running or dodging. Megumi would then raise her right leg and attempt a standing turning kick, although due to Sera's proximity it wouldn't be the foot but the knee that hits.

Seraphim's grin was starting to fade as the match started to move on. Not because she was angered or not enjoying this, but because she was starting to take this more seriously. In the countless fights she had both in the slums as a street rat, and then the daily beatings in Juvinelle hall, Seraphim had learned not to always stay cocky, and after gaining the upperhand, stay hard and focused, which was just what she did as she delivered her punch.

"Heh, softy, you're nothing but uh- What?" Though she was about to taunt Megumi as her punch connected, still somewhat cocky, Seraphim's success turned to surprise when her fist had been grabbed. The girl had taken the blow, that was no surprise, but she had the tenacity to still stand and counter. seeing her hand trapped, Seraphim's crimson eye widened a bit as she tried to yank back, but the girl had a good enough grip and was fast enough to throw in her own kick. Or at least, it looked like a kick until Seraphim also realized that her closer proximty had brought a much more hardened portion of Megumi's leg into Seraphim.

"Aaagh! ...*cough* ...lucky shot." Feeling the wind knocked from her, Seraphim struckled to regain her breath, finding it possible to gain relatively quickly, but still not enough to engage in her own attack just yet. Had Megumi striked just about anywhere else, Seraphim would have laughed it off, her pain threshhold astounding. But now she was sharing Megumi's pain as she stumbled back a little, still standing as she cringed and had one hand clenching her gut, the other still clenched into a fist. "Lucky.. but still not enouh to knock me down." And then, gathering herself as quick as possible after coughing once more, she spat to the side as a way of sayng she was over it, and then straitened herself, taking her stance again. This time, she awaited for Megumi to come to her, ready to attempt a counter.

Megumi couldn't manage more than one kick. She had not realized it, but turning kicks used th abdominal muscles as well, and those muscles had been tenderized by two powerful blows from Seraphim. Her hands clutched at her stomach as well. She had landed a hit at the price of one, but was still one hit down. She had to repay Sera's debt.

"Lucky shot?" Megumi said, "Your first hit was lucky." She moved closer slowly, not about to let Sera strike her again with those fast attacks of hers. Megumi sought an opening, planning a way to create one if she couldn't find one. She finally figured out a plan.

Megumi would dash in close, inviting Sera to strike her by leaving her defenses down. However, she was planning to lock Sera in a submission hold, just to test how high that pain threshold was. Should Sera kick, Megumi would attempt to grab her leg and lock Sera in a Dragon screw. Should Sera punch, Megumi would attempt to grab Sera by the wrist and lock her in an armbar.

"You think? You just trust people too easily." Seraphim said back, mocking her, but keeping her stance and determination. This was her first match, and she'd be damned if the people here were tougher than that shithole of a prison. Her crimson eye narrowing a bit, she watched Megumi, awaiting her opening. And then, Seraphim found it as Megumi dashed in, finding it reckless and easy to strike.

Once again, Seraphim's attacks were hard and fast, enough to throw not one, but three attacks in a rapid session. There was a strait punch that Seraphim delivered with a speedy, and long spanning distance, hoping to get her early before she even got too close. But she... avoided? Seraphim followed up with another strike, attempted a low leg sweep, attempting to use a Maui Thai strike by having her foot and heel strike the side of Megumi's thigh, but to no avail, this missed as well. Following up in a third attack, all three being delivered in under two seconds, Seraphim used her other hand for a powerful hook, only to feel this momentum used against her as she was caught.

Seraphim had an amazing offensive, and a deadly, counteractive defense, but her technique and deliverance of her attacks seemed a little sloppy, enough for Megumi to catch her wrist for an armbar hold. "Shit!" Was all Seraphim yelled out as the girl trapped her arm like that. Amazingly though, Seraphim still stood despite the weight on her arm, not falling to the mat from the submission. It was clear that she as in pain, her arm actually quivering just a little under the pressure, but the weight wasn't enough to stop her, in fact, she started to slowly shuffle back, starting to near the turnbuckle at a very slow pace, trying to bite back the pain as she made her way over.
