Re: Brooklyn Bruiser vs. Valley Doll - Coast to Coast
Kimmy's build was surprisingly solid for a woman her size, and Valley couldn't help but notice as the budding young wrestler laid on her chest and tried to pin her down. Good tone. Strong and lean. Not much fat to be felt. Had to respect that. Valley was always looking for more workout partners, so maybe they could talk when they were done here and exchange numbers. Assuming Kimmy was in the mood to.
Despite being startlingly stout, it wasn't quite enough the hold Valley down, especially not after something like a forearm. Not even two well executed ones. Kimmy's blows hit like a woman twice her size, and recouping from them was far from the easiest thing she'd ever done...but Valley could do it. She'd come back from worse. She managed to get free, and had a enough breath to get in some quick wit. Needless to say, Kimmy was less than pleased. The 'cutie' thing struck a nerve, even if that wasn't what Valley was going for. She could work with it, though.
Her smile turned wild as her opponent to wind up. "Come on, then..."
Valley was still on the ground when the Brooklyn Bruiser started her run, coming towards with full speed and ill intent. She didn't know what Kimmy was planning, and it hardly mattered - it was going to hurt, and it might be enough to push her past the point of no return. If she was going to do something to bring this match back, this was the moment to do it. She wasn't sure if her ankle was ready for the pressure, but she didn't have much choice on putting it to the test.
As Kimmy came in like a rocket, Valley popped up to one foot and one knee. Not enough to knock the incoming dropkick away, but enough for her to do a quick forward roll, right as she went airbone. She narrowly avoided the damage as Kimmy came down behind her. A close save. But she wasn't done.
She came out of the roll into a crouch, landing with her knees bent and her back arched forward. She took a quick breath, winced as her ankle was forced to shoulder half the pressure, then leaped backwards with a standing moonsault, trying to land on Kimmy before she had a chance to scurry away.

Re: Brooklyn Bruiser vs. Valley Doll - Coast to Coast
Kimmy would certainly appreciate a little more respect from her opponent, as being called "cutie" after winning a title back home in New York and having years of experience under her belt was not exactly something that Kimmy could chuckle at. She may have been ten years younger than Valley, but she wasn't a kid, wasn't even a teenager anymore—right now, she was kicking Valley's ass, and she wanted to hear Valley concede that in her tone of voice! A little groveling wouldn't hurt at all!
...okay, Valley probably was not about to start groveling, but Kimmy wanted to make sure that Valley knew that she was not just some kid to be trifled with. Kimmy was up on her feet, towering over her downed opponent as she prepared her next attack. Her forearm strikes had worked beautifully, and so now she would go back to her legs, and would try for a nice, clean, classic dropkick, right to the side of Valley's body as she sat in the middle of the ring. As Valley taunted her, Kimmy huffed and rushed forward, throwing her feet at Valley as she tried to dropkick the former Slamazon into next week.
But Valley moved out of the way. She moved fast, faster than Kimmy thought the older wrestler would be able to after the damage that had been inflicted upon her ankle. Valley managed to tuck herself forward and roll, narrowly avoiding Kimmy as the younger blonde sailed past above her. Kimmy made an undignified noise as she came down on the canvas on her back, her feet having hit nothing but air. She smacked into the canvas hard as gravity brought her down, not enough to incapacitate or injure her, but enough to sting a little as she would roll to the side and lift her head, not wanting to turn her back on Valley for even an instant.
Valley responded quickly, getting up onto her feet before Kimmy could and leaping backwards to come down on Kimmy with a moonsault. Kimmy turned her head only soon enough to see Valley rotating in midair, her toned midsection coming into view as she would come down with considerable force on top of Kimmy, crushing her down into the canvas. Kimmy yelped upon impact, her legs and arms both jerking upwards as her midsection was landed upon, the air knocked out of her. She was left gasping for breath, her legs kicking, her arms scrabbling against the canvas like she was a fish out of water.
"Guuuh...aaaahh...d-damn..." she croaked weakly, between deep gulps of air.

Re: Brooklyn Bruiser vs. Valley Doll - Coast to Coast
Time seemed to slow down as Valley flew through the air, arching her back as her hair flew wild and free in front of her face. She loved the moment between take off and touch down, when you didn't even know if your opponent was going to be there when you landed. People always asked her why she favored moves like the moonsault, and her answer always involved that sweet spot. Wrestling nirvahna. She swore she could hear the audience holding their collective breathes as she soared, could feel the air subtly shift as it was sucked down their throats, and while this was the first aerial attack of the match, it wasn't likely to be the last.
She came down hard on Kimmy and shook the ring, as the crowd gave her a healthy round of applause. Not the best move she had to offer, but they knew it was just a sign that she was starting to work her way back, that she'd have more in store. She would've loved to smile along with them, too, but that jump had given her a nice little burst of pain in the ankle. It was useable at the least, but it was only going to hurt more and more every time she tested it.
Valley didn't want to disappoint, but with Kimmy knocked for a loop beneath her and the way she'd proven to be a handful so far, there was only one realistic option - a pin. If it didn't work, she had other tricks to follow up with, but for her ankle's sake she very much hoped it would be enough.
She hooked one arm underneath Kimmy's leg as it kicked around, hooked the other behind her neck, joined hands in the middle and secured a cradle pin, holding her tight to ride down the struggles. Valley leaned in to press her shoulders down, and the referee once again came in for the count.
"1...!"

Re: Brooklyn Bruiser vs. Valley Doll - Coast to Coast
Kimmy was dazed after being landed on with that sort of force. Valley was bigger than her, at least in height and probably by a few pounds, too. Of course, even one of AFW's famous kawaii girls landing on her stomach with that sort of momentum behind her would have thrown Kimmy for a loop. Right now, Kimmy was down for at least a few seconds. She tried to gulp in air as Valley got her bearings about her again, obviously still having trouble with that ankle, but compensating by simply not putting any weight on it as she wrapped one arm around Kimmy's leg, one arm around Kimmy's neck, and brought her hands together to put Kimmy into a cradle pin.
"Guh!" Kimmy grunted, a little bit of spittle coming out as she was still gasping for breath. She knew she had to recover quickly, because Valley was leaning forward now, putting her weight on Kimmy's shoulders to pin the Brooklyn Bruiser down on the canvas for a second time this match. The referee, very quick and efficient, got down onto her knees, and the instant Kimmy's shoulders touched the canvas she started the three-count. Kimmy didn't have much time to escape.
"One...!" the referee called out as she slapped the ring for the first time. Kimmy almost made her escape attempt right there, but she caught herself and stopped. She was out of breath still, and she wasn't sure if she could escape from the pin right then. She sucked in a deep breath, feeling oxygen and energy rush into every part of her body. Her heart started beating a little more steadily as the referee hit the mat a second time.
"Two!" she called out, and Kimmy only paused for a beat after the two-count before she would make her move. She put her free foot on the canvas and pushed up, while she would twist her upper body and try to reach up with her free hand to push on Valley's shoulder, hoping that she could roll the Californian away before she could get the three-count. Kimmy was not going down like this. She had a lot of fight left in her, and was going to put Valley through quite the gauntlet. The veteran could make a quick turnaround from being pinned to being the one doing the pinning—Kimmy intended to do the same.
"Rraagh!" she roared as she tried to throw Valley off and roll her away. "Get off of me!"

Re: Brooklyn Bruiser vs. Valley Doll - Coast to Coast
Most of the time when Valley went for a pin, she kept it simple, not trying to exert too much effort on setting it up. A crossbody. Maybe a leg hook. She knew a few good ones, but slapping them on wasn't worth the trouble. But no, not for Kimmy - for this little spitfire, she was getting the best pin Valley knew, the same one she'd used to make Terrible Terri stay down in their Iron Woman match five years ago. If Kimmy was dead set on going all out, she could bring the fine china, too.
It was worth a shot, anyway. She squeezed hard. Locked her fingers tight. Deep down, she doubted that it would be enough to get the job done. She could feel the power in those tight muscles, just waiting to be released. Kimmy's so when the Brooklyn Bruiser kicked out, she just let out a little sigh and watched her roll away. Annoyed, but not surprised. And certainly ready. "Didn't say the magic word!"
Valley was knocked away by Kimmy's escape, but she didn't go too far, only falling on her butt. She quickly rolled forward, not wanting to give her any leeway, knowing she'd take it and run too far. Valley needed to keep the pressure up, but she needed to do without making her hurting ankle even worse. She needed a way to do damage and rest her ankle all at once. Time for a submission, and she had the perfect one.
She reached over and grabbed Kimmy's head with both hands, forcefully yanking it towards her, trying to pull her in between her legs before she could figure out what was going on and stop it. Valley tried to bring her legs around her neck, get her good ankle under the knee and secure a figure four headlock - her signature submission move, Trapped in the Valley.

Re: Brooklyn Bruiser vs. Valley Doll - Coast to Coast
Kimmy managed to escape with a loud grunt and forced Valley off of her. As soon as she had gotten her opponent to get off, she would start rolling in the opposite direction. She wanted to put some space between herself and Valley so that she could get up, catch her breath, and then launch her counterattack. She didn't want to waste any more time than she absolutely had to.
But even those few seconds that Kimmy needed to stand up proved to be too long a time for the veteran Californian to wait! Valley didn't roll too far after Kimmy broke the pin and pushed her off, and before Kimmy could get to her feet, her opponent was on her again. She wasn't trying to pin her, though—as soon as Kimmy felt Valley Doll grabbing onto her head and yanking her backwards, she figured that it would be a submission hold. She tried to crawl away, but she was pulled onto her back and the scrabbling of her hands against the canvas did nothing. She was pulled into the headlock, one of Valley's legs crossing over her throat to complete the figure four headlock.
"Gaaaahhhck!" Kimmy would croak, her attempt to take another deep breath foiled as she once again found herself short on air. She was on her back, staring up at the ceiling, Valley's legs constricting around her throat and completely preventing her from making an escape. She could still breathe, but only just barely, and she was worried that Valley would try to tighten the hold and make it even more excruciating. Kimmy would quickly bring her hands up to grab onto Valley's leg, trying to get her fingers in between her neck and Valley's limb to pry open the veteran wrestler's headlock.
The rest of Kimmy's body would hardly remain still. Her body below her neck was still completely free, and so she would try to get her feet on the canvas and push up, bridging her lower body upwards to try to help her upper body get free of the submission maneuver. Kimmy would start thrashing, jerking her lower body around, using her feet to try to drag herself and Valley towards the ropes. She did whatever she could to try to escape. She didn't have time to try to think of one specific plan. She would simply resist, and resist passionately, with almost reckless abandon. She would do whatever she had to to escape...before it was too late.
"Grrr...graah!"

Re: Brooklyn Bruiser vs. Valley Doll - Coast to Coast
"Gotcha again!"
Valley powered down on the hold, flexing every muscle in her legs and making them swell up, bringing their full power to bare. Being a high-flyer wasn't exactly good for Valley's long-term wrestling prospects - moonsaults were murder on the knees - but if there was one thing about her body that was only getting stronger with time, it was her legs. She'd worked on them hard when she was a cheerleader, and as a wrestler, that trend continued. Miles and miles of running everyday, countless squats, hours of drills and rounds against the heavy bags. Maybe she wasn't as strong above the waist as Akashi or Chris Morgan or even Silver Ace, but when it came to lower body strength, there wasn't anyone in the AFW who could match her. Except for Angel. Maybe.
She was willing to bet that Kimmy could appreciate the work she'd put into her thighs, too, though there was no way to be sure. After all, the lack of oxygen was probably making it hard for her to think.
"Ah, ah, watch the hands." Valley tried to slap away Kimmy's prying fingers, as she attempted to pry her head free. It was more a nuisance than anything, and she gave the Brooklyn Bruiser a particularly hard squeeze just to emphasize the point. She wasn't escaping that way.
What might work was all the thrashing and kicking she was doing, though. The last person Valley had put this hold on, Natasha Han, just used her freakish strength to escape. Kimmy didn't have that sort of power, but she did have an infinite well of spunk to tap from, and that made her hard to corale. Valley placed her palms flat on the mat and walked backwards with them, trying to slow her advance, but in the end, that turned out to be a stalling tactic. Kimmy's feet hit the ropes, and the referee called for a break.
With an iritated grunt, Valley let go of the headlock and started to stand up. She didn't do it alone - she grabbed Kimmy under the arm and tried to force her up, make her stand. Earlier on, she might've given the tiny terror some time to breath and recoup, but she'd stopped those kind of thoughts when her ankle nearly got snapped. It was all the way or nothing, now, and she wouldn't be letting up.

Re: Brooklyn Bruiser vs. Valley Doll - Coast to Coast
Kimmy growled like an angry dog when Valley chastised her, in a teasing and somewhat condescending fashion, for her escape attempt, swatting at Kimmy's fingers, slapping them hard and making the little digits sting as if they were on fire. Kimmy would try to endure it, and a couple of times she would slap back, her hand clapping against Valley's as she would try to convince the older wrestler to stop slapping at her and let her continue working on prying her arms loose. But Valley's additional squeeze convinced Kimmy that those efforts were fruitless, and so she stopped trying to pry herself free with her hands.
Perhaps it was just as well. Valley's legs were proving to be incredibly strong—not surprisingly, of course, since the thirty year-old wrestler was known as being a high-flyer, and high-flyers typically needed powerful legs if they were going to do what they did best. It was unlikely that Kimmy was going to be able to pry herself free, and if she kept trying, it would just be a waste of energy which would be better diverted towards other escape attempts. Her kicking, dragging, and thrashing seemed to be meeting with significantly more success.
"Huh! Hguh!" Kimmy grunted, as she continued to take in raspy half-breaths and used the scant oxygen that she got from those breaths to power her as she tried to make her way towards the ropes. It wasn't easy, even though the ropes were only a few feet away. Valley had complete control of her upper body, and the former Slamazon was doing what she could to impede Kimmy's progress as the Brooklynite made her way awkwardly towards the perimeter of the ring. Every time she thrust her hips, Kimmy made about a foot of progress towards the ropes, but then Valley would put her hands down and try to drag Kimmy in the opposite direction, and the platinum blonde found herself dragged backwards a full six inches.
Finally, somehow, she made it to the ropes. By that point, her whole body had started to protest the prolonged hold, and she was having trouble even breathing in at all. But she made it, got her foot up on the bottom rope, and the referee came in to call for a rope break. It had only been a minute and a half, maybe two minutes total that she had been forced to endure the hold, but it had felt twice as long. Kimmy was not completely free yet, either. Valley wrapped an arm underneath Kimmy's arms, and, supporting the younger wrestler, started to lift her up.
Kimmy took a deep breath, then let it out in a hissing, low growl. She was not going to let Valley continue to have her way. She pulled her arm forward, then threw it backwards as hard as she could, trying to elbow Valley in her belly to knock some wind out of her in retaliation and force her to let go.

Re: Brooklyn Bruiser vs. Valley Doll - Coast to Coast
Maybe it was simply Valley's imagination, but it seemed as if the crowd clapped along for Kimmy even harder than they had when her ankle was getting snapped off. Not that she blamed them one bit, especially given the way she was fighting so hard to escape. Most women would've been at least slowing down after a solid minute in the vice, but not this one. She fought. And she fought. And she fought. She fought so hard, Valley almost thought the sweat alone would make her too slippery to hold, and if her hands weren't so busy fighting to keep her from reaching the ropes, she might have clapped along, too.
So, Kimmy got free. Not too big of a deal, especially since she'd made a gain during the process. As Valley hauled her up, she tested out her ankle, seeing how much weight it could support, and it turned out that all the time with the headlock did wonders. There was still a tiny pang of pain with every step, but as long as she didn't do something like a flip and push her weary bones too far, it would be fine. Which meant she was clearned for takeoff. It was time to go airborne.
She started to reach for Kimmy's elbow, wanting to set her up for an Irish Whip and a crossbody block, but she found herself stopped when the Brooklyn Bruiser sprang back to life. Valley knew the feisty blonde had more life left, but she didn't expect it to come back so soon after the headlock. The elbow she took in the stomach didn't feel like something from someone who'd been oxygen deprived, but more like a blow from a fighter who was willing to give more and take it just as hard.
Fine by Valley. She had plenty more to send right back.
She let go of Kimmy and staggered a step away, grasping her hurting stomach with one hand. Her grimace quickly turned into a glare, and she shot that fiery look back at her opponent before she moved in. Valley reached up with her spare hand, grabbed her by the back of her neck, and tried to pull Kimmy into an elbow of her own, almost identical to the one she'd taken. Maybe not the best idea - elbows and punches weren't her forte and she was sliding dangerously close to the Bruiser's comfort zone. But Valley couldn't back down and let her take advantage. Not anymore. If she was going to start flying, she had to keep the momentum.

Re: Brooklyn Bruiser vs. Valley Doll - Coast to Coast
Kimmy felt her heart pounding, practically bursting out of her chest when she was being pulled up onto her feet. She had used quite a bit of energy in trying to escape that hold, and had worked up quite a sweat. Maybe that slight slickness that her skin had taken on had helped her escape. Maybe it hadn't. But it was an indicator of how hard she had had to work to break free of that hold. She did not want to get caught in a submission hold like that again.
Valley seemed to be recovering from the ankle torture that Kimmy had put her through a few minutes earlier. That was not a good sign for Kimmy, either. She wanted to keep Valley hampered, keep her from being at a hundred percent to discourage her from trying any of her more spectacular, and potentially more decisive, high-flying moves. The Brooklyn girl knew that she had to do something to turn things around here, and fast. With any luck, she would be able to make a clean reversal, and force Valley back down for another pin attempt, the same way Valley had reversed their positions just three minutes earlier. It was two pinfall attempts to one, now, in Valley's favor. Kimmy wanted to even the score—and more than that, of course, she wanted to finish Valley off and win.
Kimmy would go for a strike, not with a fist or leg, but with her elbow. She felt Valley's fingers brush against it, but the older woman could not stop the elbow from drilling right into her belly. Kimmy felt suddenly free as Valley staggered back, and she would straight herself up, rubbing at her head and neck with one hand. She turned to face Valley, but right as she did the more experienced blonde was on her again, grabbing at that still-sore neck and pulling Kimmy forward. She pulled Kimmy right into a sharp elbow of her own. Kimmy let out something that was half-groan, half-yell as she would double over from the elbow hitting her right below her solar plexus.
"Ghhh..." she would breathe harshly, the air whistling between her clenched teeth as she tried to recover. Kimmy was hurt, and not at a hundred percent thanks to the marathon of abuse she had suffered the last three minutes, but she was not giving up. There was plenty of fight still in her, and she had a golden opportunity right now to strike back again, even while doubled over. "You can't...beat me like that!" Kimmy would insist. She would pull back her arm and swing another punch Valley's way, trying to slam her knuckles right into the older blonde's stomach, right in the navel area. If Valley wanted to try getting into a striking contest, Kimmy was more than prepared—at least, she was fairly certain she was. Something told her, though, that Valley wouldn't try to keep that sort of tit-for-tat exchange going. She would either change her tactics or drop to the canvas—preferably the latter.
