They wouldn't go out of business because they didn't have what they owed in the bank.

Also, it appears they aren't currently carrying any debt.

They aren't carrying any debt, but they're bleeding money like crazy. The Wii U is a massive, massive failure, so much so that they're entering plans to phase it out of the market. They threw a lot of money into it, and ended up bungling just about everything about the system. Their investors aren't happy, and there's a very good chance that most of the senior staff at Nintendo is going to be let go of come May. It's a pretty sad state they're in, honestly. :/

So I had to look up what a Wii U is, and really couldn't they have just asked anyone in the world "Is this a really terrible idea" and avoided the whole thing? For what reason beyond being a dedicated nintendo person would you buy one?
