The artist's model part 2 (For TheWamts)

"Hmmmmm......" John muttered as he searched his mind for who Lia was looking for.

The art student would shake his head and say "Nope, I'm drawing a blank here sorry. As an artist I'm used to remembering faces, but I can't remember something that I don't know."

"Alright so am I getting closer to your place then?" John asked Lia as he kept his eyes on the road.

"Oh yea, it should be this opening here. Just turn here and it should be the road that goes to my apartment. It's not nearly as good as your place though.", Lia said, both modestly and honestly.

"Alright then, tell me which building you're at when I get there." John said as he drove down the road.

"Nonsense I'm sure you treat your place with good care, mine's a bit of a tip considering what we've done the past couple of days."
The art student gave a laugh after saying that.

"Ok! It should just be here!", Lia said, indicating a modest looking apartment with a small car park. "This is basically what I guess is my corner of the world"

As the pair got out of the car, she hugged him and said "So you want to stay for dinner? I'm not the best cook in the world, but it's alright with me.", she remarked, even though she reflected that her food supply was getting quite low for the month, since she hadn't yet got her first paycheque from the league.

"Alright here we are." John said as he parked the car outside the building.

"Well if you insist, I love spending time with you of course." John said as he got out the car.

"I'll let you lead me to your place, you're the one who knows where it is after all." the art student gave a small laugh at that as he held her hand.

"Hmm... Ok... so it was 201? No wait. 305? I think so... ", Lia said absentmindedly to herself as she remembered her unit number. She finally found it and opened the door for John to enter.

The room was, as she had previously said, not that impressive, a few pictures of the sites that Lia really enjoyed were displayed on one wall and a couch besides a small laptop, but for the most part it wasn't too decorated. "I think the fancy way of saying it would be "cher Lia" I guess? It's not that big, just 1 bedroom, a shower and the kitchen-living room combo" giving a little twirl as she spun her hand, as if to say that "that's everything".

"It's still nice Lia, after all it's not messy or anything like that." John said as he walked in with his girl.
He hung his blue coat up on a hook and hugged her from behind.

"You mentioned dinner, would you like me to cook or shall you?" he asked her.

Lia kissed John softly on the cheek as he hugged him, standing on her toes just to reach. When it came to the question of cooking though...

"Well right now, I'm the host, and besides, you just drove for however long, so why don't just take a break once in a while. Help yourself to whatever I have in the fridge. Think there's a few beers and pops left.", suggested Lia. And so, Lia would kiss John once more before moving to the kitchen half of the living space. She looked in her pantry and frowned. She saw a few stray boxes of pasta and noodles, a can of tomatoes, some assorted fruits and veggies in the fridge and a bit of oil.

"Guess I'm going to go with meatless again... ", sighed Lia. Part of her really wanted to show John some gratitude for everything he had done with this, but this didn't feel like enough. Ah well. Better this than nothing.

She pulled out a pan and a pot. Deciding to make a pasta dish, she started a sauce in the pan with the tomatoes and some veggies while she boiled the pasta. "It should be ready soon enough, hope it's good!", she said adding a little too much cheerfulness to her voice.

"Okay then, I'll just relax on the couch if that's alright." John said as he'd gently sit down.

The art student would check his phone, looking up pictures relating to the art of manga.
"Well if it's been made with your loving hands I'm sure it'll be good, what are you making if you don't mind me being curious?" he asked as he turned his head to look at her.

Lia blushed at John's words, even after being through so much with him already, the compliments still got to her. "Just some pasta. Nothing too fancy, if that's alright with you."

One of the things that Lia liked to do while cook was sing. She didn't know all that many songs of course, but there were still a few that she knew, mostly rather sad ones. She checked the boiling pasta, saw that it was ready and used a spoon to take them out and into the sauce that was still cooking. Then, getting 2 paper plates, she'd take the whole pan and spoon the contents onto one, the second one there to make sure that if the first one broke, it wouldn't spill onto the floor.

"And there we have it! It's not the best, but I think it's one of the better meals I cooked." In truth, she really wanted John to enjoy it, she felt like the whole day it had been him helping her out, even... that moment in the forest.
