All we're actually talking about here is a freaking picture change anyway, since, unless their japanese and a huge WA fan, nobody here actually KNOW's what the characters real personalities are anyway. The real Chigusa could be a cute psychopath for all we know.

The worst that can be said about his version of Chigusa/Megumi is that their OC's. Which doesn't count as a complaint because EVERY character in AFW is an OC, no matter what pic they use or where they took the character from. Even the Rumble Roses girls are still OC, since they aren't being used as exact copy/pastes from the games.

First and Third Edit: Even characters that ARE being used as exact copy/pastes of how they looked/acted in whatever show or game they were established in doesn't fully count, because the odds of those characters joining a sexual wrestling league where girls dress skimpy and usually get humiliated by being forced to orgasim in the ring in front of a large crowd is extremely unlikely, even if your pulling your characters from a hentai.

Second Edit: Not to mention the sheer popularity of his girls on AFW, mainly his Chigusa/Megumi, proves that people clearly had no issue with his way of using them over the past 5 years.

Doesn't the FAQ says "to play as this character you must understand the character well and play them to the best of your ability the way they act in whatever original platform you took them from"?

I think the whole thing is, playing a canon character from a well-known game/anime is different that it's not our OC, and there will be expectation from others on how the character should be like. While it's impossible to make everyone happy, staying close to the canon character should be something practiced.

Of cos, this is just my 2 cents.

Anyway, maybe I should go and create a girl using a picture of Talim from Soul Soulcalibur but claiming she's Ranpha Franboise from Galaxy Angel and give her the personality of Nanoha, I wonder would that be a good idea... Just kidding.

There's always been an exception for the WAS girls, since there's no English translation of the games, and no English guides on the internet to their personalities, and there's a very, very small percentage of members here who actually know Japanese.

@Kounoku: I took a character from an Anime I didn't know the name off or ever saw, blatantly stole the name Tai Kamiya from Digimon, and mixed it with an original personality and backstory. Haven't heard a single complaint in 5 years. Granted though, most people create their own name.

Didn't somebody on the board take Dixie Clements, give her pink hair, a new name and personality, and run with it? Pretty sure nobody said anything about that.

Hell, I took Riza Hawkeye from the FMA anime, gave her the same name and parts of the same backstory, but tweaking her personality and the second half of her backstory so that she would actually fit into AFW canon. I've yet to hear a complaint about how I've changed the established character around.

Look, it's not like ZXN just woke up one day and decided "I know, I'll do something to really piss off all the WA fans! That'll show them!"

Nah, the guy decided that, after 5 years of the same thing, during which time nobody had any complaints about anything he did with them and they became really popular here, he wanted to make a few changes to his characters.

So he made changes, just like plenty of people have done to different characters on the board. Yeah, he used DOA girls, which nobody else were using or claimed for use, though I think there would be complaints no matter what he changed the pic too.

Point is, the guy's free to do whatever he pleases, including changing whatever he likes about his characters, even if it goes against the "established character"

You don't HAVE to like it, but he also doesn't have to cater to the whims and likes of anybody, be they WA fanboys, DOA fanboys, or just anybody on here in general. I think that's a fair enough compromise for everyone.

@Siren: It's not "hating" when somebody's calling you out for being annoying on purpose.
