Chigusa Yuuki vs Toshimi Minami

It was another night at the AFW arena and the seats were all sold out. It had been confirmed that the idol Chigusa Yuuki, after having completed her world tour, would make her return on that very night, so the audience was filled to the brim with Eclipse fans cheering and carrying big signs before the match even started. Most hadn't looked at the other wrestler's name; it was some newcomer, but it didn't matter to them. All that mattered was greeting the wrestling idol back.

The lights dimmed out, and the loudspeakers started playing fripSide's "Flower of Bravery", indicating the newcoming wrestler's arrival. The spotlight focused on top of the ramp, revealing a tall, slender figure clad in a purple leotard. As she walked slowly down the ramp, though, some people in the audience started to realize something. Her face was kinda familiar...

Little by little, it dawned on them, first on the hardcore Eclipse devotees, then on the regular savvy fans: the new wrestler had been in Chigusa's old wrestling federation, Wrestle Angels. And she wasn't some nameless fighter, either: the one who approached was Toshimi Minami, the Venus of Submissions.

Toshimi kept a cool attitude as she strolled down the ramp and quietly climbed up to the ring. The black-haired beauty then stood on her corner with her arms crossed; as her entrance song faded, she waited for her opponent, still unaware of who she was.

After Minami Toshimi made her entrance, the lights suddenly dimmed. Over the loudspeakers the opening riffs to "nO LimiT", a song that hadn't been heard in months, played over the speakers. The fans of Eclipse immediately looked down the ramp, hoping and expecting their star to arrive. And she did. The spotlight fell on a beautiful girl with short purple hair, wearing a green schoolgirl's uniform. The crowd went wild, seeing their idol Chigusa Yuuki finally return to the ring.

Chigusa walked down the ramp, waving to the crowd. It had been a long time, but she was back. Finally, she was back. She hoped that after all these months those honed wrestling skills of hers were still sharp, and that her opponent was fair. Climbing into the ring, she first gave the crowd one final wave, before turning to face her opponent.

"You!" Chigus gasped, seeing a familiar face before her. It seemed that they had decided to send an old friend, perhaps nemesis, from the past. "Minami-sempai," Chigusa said, "What a surprise, seeing you here..."

Toshimi patiently waited for her opponent to climb into the ring. She was little interested in the song, but could see that it stirred up the crowd considerably. It was clear that whoever she was meant to fight was famous on that federation. Then, as she got into the ring, Toshimi recognized the familiar face. "Chigusa Yuuki." She smiled. "So it is true..."

"Chigusa-san, long time no see." She gave a step forward, examining herlong0time colleague. "I'd heard that our old friends were all flocking to here, but I didn't expect to meet a known face right on my arrival." She looked around at the crowd bursting with excitement. "I see you're doing quite well here..."

Chigusa nodded, not showing too much emotion. She had the misfortune of facing Toshimi early on in her career, when she was still inexperienced. She recalled how badly she got beaten, twisted up in Toshimi's submission hold, begging to be let go. It wasn't a pleasant memory.

"Yeah, I've built up some support here," she said, making a small gesture to the crowd, "I've improved a lot since the last time we met in the ring. So sempai, are you ready?"

Toshimi heard Chigusa's words and nodded. "So you've become stronger... that's good. A match is always more beautiful when both fighters are experienced."

She then entered her fighting stance, a very balanced grappler's stance, and smiled wider. "I'm curious about what kind of wrestler you have become, Chigusa-san. Maybe tonight I can go all-out on you..." Toshimi made a pause and looked directly and coldly into Chigusa's eyes. "...unlike that time."

The bell rang; Toshimi left her corner and moved forward. She raised her voice and said, "I'm ready!", as she waited for Chigusa to come forward, watching her intently.

Chigusa's slight smile turned into a grimace, as Toshimi reminded her of that match. Her anger flared up. "Don't underestimate me!" she snapped. As the bell rang and Toshimi settled into her stance, Chigusa launched directly into her attack. As usual, Chigusa expected to hit first and hit hard, running forward at top speed before leaping off the ground, letting her momentum carry her forward straight at Toshimi, attempting to land her signature dropkick!

Toshimi smiled inwardly when she saw Chigusa's angered reaction. So she did remember it, and was uneasy with the memory. Toshimi thought this match would be fun, at the very least. She still didn't know the degree of Chigusa's strength, though, so toying with her could be risky. She'd play her cards safe until she had more information.

But, right now, the match had begun, and Chigusa was making her first move, so Toshimi paid full attention to that. The girl moved with impressive speed and almost hit Toshimi, but on the last second she stepped to the side and watched Chigusa fall to the mat. The girl's dropkick was quite something, and Toshimi made a mental note to not let her be hit with that. Looking down at Chigusa, she gave a quick kick at her side to make her get up fast, then backed away once more. "Don't lose your calm, Chigusa-san. You are a professional, remember?" Her voice was cool, but also taunting Chigusa to come. Standing a few feet away from her, Toshimi once more observed her in her defensive stance.

Chigusa gasped when her kick hit nothing but air, missing and falling to the mat. Toshimi seemed to anticipate that attack, moving aside at the last second. Chigusa couldn't catch her unawares with speed anymore, it seemed. She needed to plan her tactics.

The kick served to irritate Chigusa even more, encouraging her to get up quickly. She stood up, backpedaling a few steps to keep her distance. Getting too close to Toshimi was dangerous. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself, then focused on Toshimi, trying to look for a weakness.

"I can't win like this," Chigusa thought. She decided to move forward slowly, trying to draw Toshimi into making the first move.

Toshimi watched Chigusa for a second or two and, seeing that she now hesitated to come forth, decided to move forward on her own. Without breaking her stance, she stepped towards towards her opponent until she was just out of her kicking range.

Toshimi stopped right there and slowly lifted her arms up. She said no words, but it was clear she was proposing a test of strength to Chigusa. She looked at her, legs ready to spring away if she charged again.

However, if Chigusa did accept the offer and came closer, Toshimi would make her true move. With a smirk, she would suddenly lunge forward to grab Chigusa's shoulders, then pull her closer to drive a knee against her stomach.

Chigusa saw that Toshimi was offering a test of strength. She knew better than to accept; even if Toshimi wasn't going to try anything she as still a fierce grappler and such close combat was dangerous. Still, this standoff wasn't getting anywhere. Chigusa had to strike somehow.

She saw that Toshimi was close enough now that maybe she could catch her off guard. Bending her knees slightly, Chigusa looked like she was about to lock up, but then suddenly would leap forward and try to tackle Toshimi around the waist, aiming specifically to grab her. She hoped that she could use surprise to secure a good grip, so that she could set up for a bigger attack.
